Skylar looked expectantly at Griffin and Hadassa, “I suppose we have no other choice, he said, “what do you think Winter, are you willing to give this a shot,” he asked. He knew that this was all probably especially hard on her since she just had pups and all.

Etain’s eyes softened, “that is so sad,” she said softly, “but you did the right thing,” she said with a sigh and looked at her own pups. Gail trotted up suddenly, he heard what his father said, “you won’t really do that, will you dada?” he asked, big brown eyes staring up at his father.

Storm looked down at Gail and he licked his head. “No son” he said. “If the wolves are still there tonight, I’ll talk to them. I promise you, I won’t let them die, no matter what.” He said, as he saw the look of anxiety in his sons eyes.

Winter sighed a little bit. “Oh….I don’t know.” She admitted. “I suppose if we have to…then…we will” she muttered.

Gail smiled, he was satisfied with his father’s answer and snuggled up to, “thanks dada, I knew you wouldn’t. Etain smiled at the both of them warmly, “what are you going to tell them my dear,” she asked softly.

Skylar sighed, “it’s settled then I suppose. We stay here and hope to the high sky that all will turn out alright,” he said. He turned back to the two scouts, “thank you both for all your help in this,” he said sincerely, “I hope your Alpha doesn’t get you into trouble for talking with us.”

Storm sighed and he gazed at his three pups. His heart was torn. What was he supposed to do? He was the alpha, and a father...and a mate.....he couldn't just let another mother die. Finally he turned and looked at Etain. "I don't know" He admitted. "I'll think of something, but I can't just let them kill another mother and her pups because they're on our territory. Yes, they are trespassing, but its a mother and her pups....I...we can't kill them" He said.

Griffin nodded. "We've been good about sneaking back into camp the last month." He said. "We'll try to figure out a way for this to be sorted out" Griffin promised. "Thank you" Winter added. Griffin nodded again and then turned to leave with Hadassa. "Hey...um...Hadassa....I....we...um...can we talk now that we're alone?" he asked

Etain could see her mate’s turmoil of mind, “I know,” she agreed, thinking about her own pups and how she would feel if something like this happened to her, “they shouldn’t be on our land, I know that, but… perhaps they have a good reason for it,” she suggested, “it’s not like the wolf is a roaming mannerless lone dog we are talking about, she’s a female, with pups!”

Skylar nodded. Those two wolves had been so helpful to him and his mate lately, he just couldn’t bare the thought of them having to get punished for meeting with them.

Hadssa looked at Griffin, his tone was different than normal. He seemed… nervous? This was new. She could never remember Griffin getting nervous. “Sure,” she responded, “is something on your mind?”

Storm nodded. "Exactly, which is why I need to talk to them myself" He said. "And....I want you to come with me" Storm said. "You're my luna, if we're speaking to wolves on our land, I need you with me" Storm said

Winter gazed at her mate. "Skylar, what are we gonna do?" she asked him.

"I....um...well...I..." Griffin began stuttering again. Out with it Griffin! He told himself. "Hadassa...I...um....I have a crush.....um....." He cleared his throat. "I...I like you" He finally said

Etain thought for a moment, “I would love to, but what about the pups, we can’t leave them alone. We’d either need to find someone to watch them or bring them with us,” she pointed out.

“We wait,” he said quietly, “and whatever happens, happens.” He laid down beside her, smiling softly as Brechin came up to lay between his paws.

Hadassa was speechless for a moment, “r..really?” Now it was her turn to stutter. She never would have guessed this! “Oh Griffin, I.. I like you too,” she finally finished.

“I can find someone to watch them.” Storm said. “I’ll really need you beside me if we talk to these wolves.” He said licking her nose lovingly. “It would mean a lot to me, you know that.” He added.

Winter sighed but nodded. “Alright.” She whispered. “I just hope the pups don’t….ya know…” she muttered

Griffin froze. “You like me?” He asked. The most beautiful wolf in the entire pack liked him! “You’re the most beautiful wolf in the entire pack!” He blurted out suddenly

Etain nodded, it was her duty to stand beside her mate, and she was proud to do so, ''alright,'' she answered, ''we can leave Omega with them, they like it when he's pup sitting,'' she pointed with her nose at their three pups. She licked his nose back, ''when do you want to meet with them?''

''I know, me too,'' he answered, brows drawn together, ''but let's not think about it for right now,'' he said suddenly. Lichen came up to her mother just then, ''can you tell us a story please?'' Brechin's ears perked up, ''yes, a story!''

''And I think you are the most handsome wolf I have ever seen,'' she answered just as fast as he. If wolves could blush she would have just then. She could not believe that Griffin actually shared her feelings, she had always kept that she liked him to herself, but now... She just couldn't comprehend it all.

“Well I’m sending the scouts out again this evening, if they are still there then we shall talk to them tonight.” Storm said licking his mates nose. He was glad to have her stand beside him, and Hercules loved pup sitting for his alpha and Luna, so it worked out perfectly.

Winter smiled. “A story huh?” She asked. “What kind of story?”

Griffin flicked his tail happily. “I….i love you.” He said, suddenly licking her muzzle.

Etain smiled and nodded, “yes, that sounds like a very good plan,” she responded. She laid down on her side to begin nursing her pups and soon they were fast asleep.

Brechin chased his tail and didn’t stop until he had it firmly clamped in his mouth, “hmm um huh muff,” he said with the tail still in his mouth. Lichen laughed, “I think he’s trying to say about how you and dada met,” she said with a giggle. Brechin spit his tail out and snuggled up beneath his mother’s chin. Lichen went over to Avalanche and Eclips.

Hadassa’s ears went rigid, “you do! Well… I love you too,” she answered enthusiastically. She stopped still when he licked her muzzle then shyly licked it back.

Storm nodded and nuzzled his family lovingly before he licked Etain's nose and nuzzled her again. "I must go now" He said sadly. "I shall return soon, I promise" He said, padding out of the den and over to his rock to watch the pack.

"How I met dada, hmm?" Winter asked. All four pups nodded eagerly. "Alright, well I was about a year and a half and was currently out scouting one night. I had multiple different types of jobs in my pack" Winter said. "I remember because sometimes I would hunt, others not. It was a full moon the first time I saw your father. He was from the other pack. I could tell because as soon as I scented him, my hackles raised and a growl rose in my throat" Winter said. "Of course, I had to continue, and then it was a few moments later that I came face to face with him. He was quite a bit bigger than I was, but I made myself look bigger with all my fur fluffed up, of course it didn't work. Finally, we began to talk...and I realized that he was quite a sweet wolf actually." Winter said. "I then agreed to meet him the next night at the same spot we first met, so I did." Winter said. "We started talking and hanging out more and more...which was when I realized that I fell in love with him. I knew instantly that it wasn't right as we were from two different packs." Winter said. "That didn't stop us though. I remember it was a another moon lit night, and we were laying on our little makeshift nest that we used each night, your father was grooming my pelt, and I decided to tell him how I felt." Winter said. "A few moments after, he said the same thing." Winter gazed at Skylar and smiled before licking his nose. "We had become mates, but still lived our separate lives, for about three months we lived separate lives." Winter said with a small sigh. "Then, I found out that I was pregnant with you four, which was when your father and I chose to make a hard choice. We chose to leave our packs, and we found this cave." Winter said. "I don't regret any of it. I'm happy I saw your father that night" She said.

Griffin felt his heart skip a beat as she licked him. "W...Will you...b...b....um...be my mate?" Griffin asked

Etain nodded and smiled, “of course my love,” she said licking him, “please tell me when you plan on going to meet them,” she asked before Storm left. “Come my pups, it’s time for your nap,” she said brightly as she heard her pups’ disappointed whines. They lover their father and always became sad when he left them.

Skylar’s dark eyes remained upon Winter for the whole time she was telling the story. When she finished he licked her, “you tell it so will,” he said lovingly, “I most definitely don’t regret it either,” he groomed her beautiful pelt as he thought back to that day. Lichen sighed, “that is the best story ever mama,” she said with a dreamy look in her eyes, “I hope someday I can find the wolf I love and mate him, just like you and dada,” she snuggled up to her mother.

Hadassa inhaled quickly, “you really want to be mates with me?!?! Well… YES, I would love to be mates with you,” she exclaimed with a happy yip.

Rain let out a whine of protest. "we're not sleepy!!" she said, even as her eyes grew heavy with sleep. She stumbled over to her mother and plopped down at her side with a happy sigh before she curled up and fell asleep.

"I think you will Lichen" Winter said to her daughter, she licked her head lovingly as Eclipse snuggled against her father with a yawn. "Oh is it nap time?" Winter asked as the pups began curling up. When they fell asleep, Winter gazed at her mate. "sometimes, I wonder what our lives would be like if I didn't meet you that night" Winter admitted.

Griffin smiled huge. "Yes! Of course! I wouldn't want any other wolf as my mate besides for YOU!" He said, licking her again. "I love you, Hadassa"

Etain smiled down softly as her pups began their nap time routine, “sleep well my little ones,” she said quietly, though no one answered as they were all already asleep. Etain laid down and closed her eyes but she kept her ears up and alert in case of anyone calling for her.

Skylar looked down as one of their pups curled herself in his fur, he looked up when Winter spoke, “I know,” he said quietly, “I would have probably been forced into a fight with the Alpha by now. That is what my father trained my brothers and I for, to take over the Alpha. But thankfully you came along and helped me, you showed me what it was to be a real wolf,” he said looking at her steadily.

Hadassa grinned widely, “I love you too,” she said still in shock at how quickly it all happened, “I still can’t believe it,” she said with a laugh.
