So I’m looking to do some 1x1 long term roleplays. I have a few ideas and most of them revolve around each of us having one central character with side characters to fill out the world. Right now they are very brief as I don’t have access to my laptop with the full ideas. Other than the character specific ideas I am open to any gender and with the exception of Zelda all characters are bi.
For all of these I want to try something a little different with regards the characters as I know I can be demanding with forms. We would make character forms with only the bare basics and add to the forms as the rp goes on/character disclose inform and get closer. I am open to doing the crossed out ones more than once, but I would prefer to do the open ones first.
Dominic Winters - so this one revolves around my character Dominic. He is a marine veteran who was widowed about a year ago, so more friendship or very slow burn if romance is desired. I have two different idea I have for him, though I am open to more. The first one is a support group where our characters would meet and we would go from them. The second one is he works for his friend who runs a private security firm, the characters would likely meet through a job.
Blast from the past - Two students from a college are brought on as interns for one of their professor’s summer project restoring a Tudor manor. While cleaning out the library they find a hidden room and when the try to exit the room they end up in 1538 England. They must survive the Tudor court and figure out how to get back. There would be hints of magic but nothing too wild and historical figures that would likely be modified for the plot as well.
For this one they could be friends or simply classmates, all depends on what you want to do. Really the only thing I would probably require in characters is they should be juniors or seniors in college(20-22 roughly) as this would be highly technical/prestigious internship. Additionally their major should make sense like history/art/architecture/etc that fits with the internship, for example a business or human bio student wouldn’t make sense.
Sybil Klein - another character based idea. She is an amputee with a service dog who is a psychologist. Agains like Dominic she did loose a long term partner(fiancé only, but I seem to have a pattern with my favorite characters), though at this point it would be 5+ years ago. The only idea I have is her going to a riding therapy stable just because they would be better equipped to teach her to ride; she used to play soccer since she was 5 but had to stop after her accident and now she just wants to start an activity again. I’m open to any other ideas as long as it doesn’t involve her getting involved with a client.
A new vet - a new vet is hired at a rescue and they must figure out how to get along with the kennel/barn manager(depends on what kind of rescue). I have no preference towards a character and this could turn into friends or romance(but it would be such a good, trope filled romance).
Plane crash - Our two characters are the only survivors after a plane crash. Stranded out in the wilderness they need to figure out how to survive. This could be romance but I would like to reserve romance until after they are rescued as surprise it turns out they live in the same city. For this I would like our characters to be better prepared than your average office worker but not bear grylls level.
Zelda Fitzroy - Zelda is suspected of murdering her third husband of which she is innocent of(shady business partners actually did it). Your character would be a police officer or private investigator who is trying to find the true killer. Depending on what you want to do they can either be trying to clear her or prove her guilty. This could be a romance considering Zelda’s personality/backstory she wouldn’t be in deep mourning more likely shock.
Chris Van der Aart - Van der Aart Stud NA is based just outside of Tyron, North Carolina with the Main branch in the Netherlands. The stud is co-owned by Jan Van der Aart and Christian Van der Aart, a father-son pair. Christian, or rather Chris as he prefers to be called, just took over the actual operations of the North American branch. The year before he took gold in individual eventing and silver in team eventing at the Olympics. With his dream satisfied he has since lessened the amount he competes to help his father run the stud. While the breeding part of the stud is highly successful, Chris quickly grew bored with the routine. So he has just opened up an English riding center at the barn not only catering to high level equestrians but also to teach beginners and novice riders. He has since recruited trainers for show jumping and dressage while he teaches eventing himself. Now the center is opening up for its first lesson students, boarders, and working students. Only time will tell how successful Chris’s next endeavor will be, will he get the gold or be disqualified? (So for this one your character can be a boarder, lesson student, trainer, etc. It can really go in any direction as well since once again this one for me is more about using the character than a plot).
