Ellie woke up a while later inside her cozy pink bed. She yawned, showing her tiny sharp white teeth, grabbing a chew toy she started knawing on it. She growled as she ate it, then her handler came over. "Time for more training now that you're all awake." she said, opening the crate door to lift Ellie out. Ellie whined but obeyed. "Now" her handler said. "What we're going to do, is pretty simple. When my leg starts shaking, I want you to put your paw on it." Ellie tilted her head, her handler laughed. "I know you can do it." she said. Ellie sat down on the ground and stared up at her handler, waiting. Then, her handlers leg began shaking. Ellie stood up, and put a front paw on her handlers leg. "Good girl!" her handler said, giving her a treat

After finishing her training session for the day, Willow walks beside her handler, over in the direction of her car. Now she was going to have her daily check-up. Her breed meant that she needed to have ears checked on a daily basis, in addition to getting some of her vaccines, a nail trimming, and a teeth cleaning. He would probably see about pre-scheduling her spaying appointment, since the recovery time from the surgery, meant that she would be out of training for a few days, maybe a week or two at most. Willow would be a quick study, as long as she wasn't overwhelmed by everything that she was taught. He knew that socialization was important for her, as long as she wasn't confusing socialization so badly that she forgot about her job.

When Ellie's handler left that night with Ellie's food bowl filled to the top and her water bowl refreshed, Ellie munched on some of her food before she lay herself down in her bed for the night. She grabbed her favorite chew toy and snuggle up with it, closing her eyes and falling asleep. When she woke up, light was streaming into her crate. She squinted and looked around. Her handler should be arriving soon to refill her food and start a new day of training. Ellie sat patiently at the crate door, waiting for her handler to arrive. Her handler laughed when she saw Ellie waiting. She opened the door and poured in her food for the morning

By the following morning, Willow was a little bit groggy, since she had needed to be sedated for her nail trimming. She really hated having her nails trimmed, but her handler had talked about some extra training, to get her used to having her paws handled by people. She probably wouldn't do some training until a bit later one, when the effects wore off. She was just a bit slow to bounce back from that. Her handler hoped that it would be soon, since he had plans for her next bit of training. He was going to be attending a talk about epilepsy and how service dogs could help. He was planning to bring her along, since he had heard a trained service dog would be used for demonstration. Perhaps this was something that Willow would benefit from.....a visual example, to see if she could learn from an example.

Ellie's training was going really well. "yes" her handler said, giving Ellie a treat. "good girl." she said. "now, I'm going to bring in a friend who has diabetes." her handler said, opening the door as a girl walked in. She bent down and pet Ellie. "hi there" she said. Ellie tilted her head and sat down, placing her paw on the girls lap. "I promise I didn't tell her to do that." her handler said. The girl checked her blood pressure. "she was right." the lady said, sitting down on a chair. "good girl, Ellie" her handler said, giving her another treat. Ellie wagged her tail happily. The girl smiled. "what else can she do?" she asked. "well, We've been working on getting her to tell the person when they need to take a break" her handler said

While Willow was on the ride to the seminary, with the visual example of a seizure alert dog, in the back of her little puppy mind, she wondered if Ellie was doing alright. She knew that the two of them had drastically different courses, during their time at the training center. As a puppy, she did want to make friends, and she wondered how far away they would be from each other. They were meant to be service dogs after all, with play and socialization taking a back seat to their job. Maybe they would be close together, maybe their future owners would be children, who attended the same school, and they could still see each other. of course, she had no idea what Ellie was thinking, if she was even considering a friendship with her. She had only met Ellie once, and the introduction didn't last for very long.

"ok, so what exactly do I do?" the person asked. "we can take you two outside, and you can throw Ellie a ball until she tells you to sit down." her handler said. The person nodded and Ellie followed close behind her handler. When they got outside, her tail wagged when the person picked up a ball and threw it. Ellie chased after it, picked it up, and went racing back to the person again. The person laughed, picked up the ball and threw it. This time, Ellie did not follow after it. She put her paw on the person's foot and barked. "Good Girl Ellie." her handler said. The person looked confused. "check your blood pressure." her handler said. The person checked her blood pressure and gasped, sitting down on the grass. "wow." she said. "that was incredible."
