This is a private rp between me (Abbster) and Brooke. If you are not one of these people, please do not comment Two dogs that come from different breeds, coming to a service dog school, where they learn to be service dogs. They are given a specific condition (physical or mental) to be trained to assist a person with that condition. They go through schooling until they are able to be placed with a family that needs them. They would either live in a home with two people with conditions, or live next door to each other. link to sign ups

Ellie layed in her tiny bed and she sat up when her handler came over. “Hi Ellie” she said, reaching her hand in and rubbing her behind the ears. “Time for day 1 of training” she tilted her head confused. “You know, to be a seeing eye dog” Ellie barked and stood up, she walked out of her crate and over to her handler. She licked her all over and her handler laughed. “Ok you, the first thing we’re going to do is get you used to wearing a harness” she said, grabbing a harness that would fit on Ellie’s back. Ellie turned her head and tried shaking it off. Her handler laughed. “You can’t shake it off if you want to be a seeing eye dog” she said laughing again. Ellie barked again and the. She licked her handler over her face. “Ok ok ok” she rubbed Ellie again and tried to get her used to the harness again. Ellie sat down on her butt and sighed. She knew she had to get used to it at some point, mine as well be now.

Passing her tongue over her lips, Willow looks up from her food bowl, when she sees her handler coming over to her, a harness in his hands. She was always hearing words from him, about being....what he called a seizure alert dog. She didn't know what a seizure was, but it seemed to be something serious, that humans got. Kneeling beside her, the handler places a hand on her back, rubbing her fur, softly. "Alright, Willow. Lesson one for today. You're going to be a seizure alert dog one day, and we need to start your training. This is a situation, where you will really save someone, and help them be able to live on their own, be independent, and be able to leave their home, to be able to function in society. This is a serious matter, but you're a smart dog, and I know that you'll do well. For now, though, we'll start things off easy. This is your harness." He says, offering it to her, for her to sniff. He would start off by showing it to her, and letting her sniff it, getting used to its scent, before he tried buckling it on. Feeling a little hesitant, Willow stretches her neck forward, so that she could smell the very strange contraption.

Ellie finally allowed her handler to get to harness on. "There you go" she said. "good girl" She gave Ellie a treat and Ellie wagged her tail in happiness. She was a good girl. "Now, this next part is going to a bit tricky for you, but I know you can do it." she said. "I want you to lead me around those cones over there." Ellie looked at her handler confused but went towards the cones anyway. They were outside, and a leaf fell on her nose. Ellie barked and went onto her hind paws, batting at the next leaf that fell off the tree. Her handler stumbled backwards and she was laughing. "Ok, guess we can come back to that another day" she said, grabbing Ellie's harness bar and trying to get her to go back inside. Ellie whined. She liked it out here. "We need to go back inside, we have more work to do." Ellie sat on her bum and stared at her handler, her puppy eyes gazing at her. She didn't want to go back inside, she wanted to stay outside. She whined again. "come on girl" her handler said. With a sigh, Ellie got up and followed her handler inside.
(i may make it so ellie is unable to be a seeing eye dog and she has to be trained for something else)

After her handler slips her harness on, adjusting it accordingly, to make sure that it was snug, but still breathable, Willow gives herself a shake, before walking next to her handler. "Alright, girl. We're going to go and work on socialization. As a service dog, it's important for you to be able to be around other dogs, that you may or may not interact with. You need to be calm and friendly, while being able to maintain your focus for the job. You'll be meeting Ellie today. I don't know what she is being trained for, but she is a friendly and playful German Shepherd. While it is best to stay focused, you will always see other dogs while working, and sometimes, your human's family may have other dogs. It is important to know how to be friendly but focused." He says. He would need to see if Ellie's handler was around, to see if she was okay with the two puppies meeting.
(Alright, there are plenty of conditions that service dogs can help with.)

Ellie barked when her handler rubbed her behind her ears as she wagged her tail. “Well, as todays training didn’t go so well, I might have to change your job” her handler said. “Let’s try you for a medical alert dog.” She said. “Basically what you’ll be doing it alerting your human when there blood pressure is high or low, I know you can do that” her said laughing as Ellie licked her face. “Now that your harness is the right size, you need to meet one of the other puppies. I have you on the list for meeting willow today. Willow is a Dalmatian and I think you’ll really like her” her handler said. Ellie kept to her handlers side while they looked for willows trainer. “Ah there you are” Ellie’s handler finally said. “You still ok with Ellie and willow meeting?” She asked

Willow sits beside her handler, her eyes looking up at him. Right now, while they were waiting for Ellie and her handler to arrive, her own handler was working on his ability to hold her attention. This would be the last thing that he did with her today. As a dalmatian, he knew that her breed could be particularly sensitive, especially when it came to learning things. She needed her lessons broken up, so that she wouldn't get overwhelmed. if that happened, then she wouldn't be able to process anything. People thought that she didn't have what it took to be a service dog given the type of learning that she needed. But her handler was more than willing to be patient with her to give her time to learn and understand the role that she would be playing. When another human, a woman, enters the room, a puppy with fluffy fawn and black fur, with slightly pricked ears, enters the room, her tail wags a little, though she was a little wary, since she had never seen such a dog like this before.

Ellie looked at the black and white spotted puppy. She tilted her head slightly and whined. "its ok Ellie" Her handler said, leaning down to rub her behind her ears. "Willow is a friend, she won't harm you" Ellie stood up and walked forward slightly. She sniffed the black and white dog, who was apprently called Willow. Ellie wagged her tail and sat down. She liked this dog now. She could tell that she wouldn't hurt her. "hi" Ellie barked. "I'm ellie, what's your name?" she asked, her puppy voice making a little whining sound

Sitting beside her handler, Willow was a bit apprehensive towards this new puppy. It was just a part of her breed, to be sensitive, nervous, and wary of other dogs. It would take her a bit of time to get used to this new arrival, especially considering that she had absolutely no idea if they were going to meet again in the future, or if this was a one and done deal. Feeling a slight nudge, she stands up, and walks over to the puppy. She seemed to have a thicker coat, but they were clearly the same age. Her tail wags slowly, but more from apprehension, rather than nerves. "Hi. My name is Willow. It's nice to meet you." She says, her voice quiet and hushed, unlike those from her litter. She was the only one from her litter, that had been chosen for such a task. her breed was generally never chosen for this, so she was a huge representative for her breed.

Ellie looked up when her handler grabbed a hold of her harness. "Ellie was being trained to be a seeing eye dog, but I don't think its in her nature." her handler said. "I'm switching her to a medical/diabetic alert dog." she said, rubbing Ellie behind the ears. Ellie wagged her tail and licked her hand. "How's Willow been doing?" she asked, sitting down on a chair. Ellie sat down beside her and stared up at her, tail wagging. She wanted to be a service dog, but she had to work hard in order for that to happen. She pawed her handlers knee. "looks like Ellie is wanting to get back to training. Once we're done, we can talk about training together. It could be good for the two of them." her handler said, standing up.
(sorry i didn't post earlier. I had a lot going on at school)

Willow looks up at her handler, noticing that he seemed to be listening intently to the woman across from him. "That's a good direction. Those with diabetes, could always use a good support dog. Willow here, is in training to be a seizure alert dog. This is a very big test for her, since her breed is not specifically trained for this type of purpose. A dalmatian is generally very sensitive, and prone to getting overwhelmed, when it comes to training, so I'll be doing my best to get her to where she needs to be, while keeping her needs in mind as well. She has a lot of work to do, as the first of her breed to enter the service dog world, but I can tell that she has potential. She was good with the harness, but I think that I'm going to cap her at 2-3 lessons per week. If I give her too much to do, she may shut down. German Shepherds are smart and can handle it. Dalmatians are different in that regard. We can have them do a lesson or two, together. but just bear in mind, that Willow needs quiet, patient training. He says, reaching down to scratch her ears.

Ellie's handler nodded in understanding. "yea, I've heard about that" she said. "I'm honestly quite surprised you're training her for something this sophisticated." she said, laughing when Ellie pawed at her leg again. "Yea, Ellie is the type of dog that till needs to play, so training her to be a diabetic alert dog will help her out a lot." she said. Ellie looked up when she heard her name and wagged her tail, barking. "shh" her trainer said. "quiet" Ellie stopped barking and sat there silently. "that's something we worked on earlier, quiet means stop barking" she said laughing when Ellie whined. "quiet" she said. Ellie stopped whining and she sat staring up at her handler again

Willow's handler shrugged. "I really think that she has potential. Besides, I remember meeting a very young boy, who has epilepsy, who is currently on the waiting list for a service animal. I remember talking with him once, and he mentioned how he had seen a very beautiful dog, when he was on a field trip to the fire department. He was really excited to meet the station's mascot, a dalmatian named Ashes. He said that she was one of the most beautiful dogs, that he had ever seen. He asked me if it was possible for him to have that breed as a service dog. I honestly didn't think that there was a chance, because of the breed's energy levels, and sensitivity. But I think that she really has potential, and she'll be that boy's service dog, if she gets through the training and certification." He says. Right now, Willow was currently sitting patiently. She wasn't the type to really act out. But if she got overwhelmed, she shut down, and didn't do anymore. "Right now, what I'm working on, is building a routine, that I know won't overwhelm her. She'll get there, eventually, with time and patience." He says.

Ellie tilted her head slightly when Willows handler started talking again. "Thats amazing" she said. "truely" she pet Ellie behind the ears. "Theres a little girl with diabeets, who needs a service dog. I have her down for Ellie at the moment, Ellie was supposed to be someone else's dog, but when she decicded she didn't want to be a seeing eye dog, that changed." she said. Ellie yawned, half from boredom, half from tiredness. "I'm gonna take Ellie back to her crate, she looks like she needs a nap." She leaned down and lifted Ellie off the ground and held her in her arms. Ellie squirmed a bit, but her handlers hands were nice and calm on her back, it put Ellie to sleep

Willow looks at her handler, watching as he nods. "That's something that these little girls definitely need. Being a service dog takes a lot of strength and patience, and I'm sure that they'll do well. I still have something to do with Willow. After that, I need to take her in for her health check-up, as well as getting her a good nail trim. She's at the age, where she needs her shots, and I need to put in an appointment well ahead of time, to get her spayed. Now, that won't be until she is at least one year old, but it's always best to have those loose ends tied up." He says. Compared to Ellie, who was clearly very tired, Willow was still ready to go for some more training, then she would be getting a check-up, and then she would get a nap, and a treat to chew on.
