Chloe nodded and thanked Dr. Carson before walking Taffy back to her stall. She gave her some fresh hay and water before closing her door and heading back to the house where she found Molly and Aidan.
"so, what did Dr. Carson say?" Molly asked.
Chloe sat down in a chair. "Apparently Taffy has a fracture that never healed properly, and I probobaly made it worse my working with her in the round pen" Chloe said as she sighed. "Its all my fault" She said, with another sigh.
"it isn't your fault" Molly said. "you didn't know about the fracture, so you worked with her just like you would any other horse" she said. "I promise you, it isn't your fault"

"She probably has never shown any signs that she was hurt either," Aidan announced. He got up to make some coffee. He was suddenly in the mood to do something outdoorsy. Something like go for a climb or a hike. Or even go for a hike. But he was not sure if Molly wanted to go with him.

"Thats what the vet said" Chloe said, as she continued to drink her coffee. "but i still think it's some what my fault. I kept working her...the injury could've gotten so much worse if Austin didn't catch her stumbling when she canters." Chloe sighed. "I don't know how I missed it" She admitted, as she closed her eyes for a second before opening them again.
Molly put her hand on Chloe's shoulder. "it isn't your fault" She said again. "Like Aidan said, she probably hasn't shown signs that she was hurting" Molly told Chloe. "ok...maybe you did work with her a lot but how could you have known she was injured? The owner didn't tell you anything, you just took the horse." She said. "Or...Pony" Molly laughed.
"I suppose, but the owner probably didn't notice anything either" Chloe said, as she sighed once more

"It amazes me what horses can go through before they can feel pain," Aidan announced as he took a drink of his coffee. "Chloe, I think you need something to distract yourself. Something fun so you don't think it is your fault. Why don't we leave Lia with Austin's grandparents and we can go out for a hike or something. I have been wanting to get outdoors the past few days. But the weather has been so bad. Hiking or climbing always helps me."

"I don't really like hiking" Chloe admitted, as she took another sip of her coffee. "Or climbing...never really done it before so..." She looked over at Aidan, hoping he wouldn't be to mad. Chloe sighed and then thought for a second. "how about if we just...do something here...ya know, that doesn't involve climbing?" Chloe asked, as she herd the front door open

Austin opened the door walking in with lunch. He had picked up some burgers from the diner in town so that they did not need to make something for lunch. He set the bags on the table. "Thought I would pick up lunch. I was getting kind of hungry when I was in town."

Chloe looked up at Austin when he came in. "I'm not very hungry" Chloe said, as she stood up and went outside to the barn. Chloe went to Beauty's stall and opened the door. "hey Beauty" Chloe said, rubbing her nose. "how are you?" she asked her, as she patted her neck. She closed Beauty's door and walked over to Taffy's stall. She put her hands on the door and watched Taffy as she ate her hay, acting like everything was fine when Chloe was probably the reason she needed to be on stall rest. Chloe sighed as she grabbed Taffy's halter and put it on, walking her to the arena to walk her around for a bit.

"What is her problem?" Austin asked as he watched Chloe leave. He then looked back and Molly and Aidan. Did he do something wrong again?, he had apologized the night before. "Please don't tell me she is mad at me for some reason."

"no" Molly said. "its not you" She said. Molly looked over at Aidan. "Taffy has a fracture that never healed, and because Chloe has been working with her so much...she blames herself for Taffy having to be on stall rest for a few weeks" Molly said. "We tried to explain to her that it wasn't her fault...and that the owner of Taffy didn't tell her anything when she dropped Taffy off." Molly said. "it didn't do anything. She still thinks she's the reason that the fracture got worse that it was" Molly said. "I promise, you have nothing to do with it" Molly finished

"Thank God. But, it's not her fault one bit. That injury is old it could have happened at any time in her life. We may have to contact Taffy's owner to find out more info." Austin said as he sat down at the table to eat.

"We tried telling her that too" Molly added as she grabbed one of the sandwiches' Austin bought.
Chloe walked Taffy for a while longer before brining her back to her stall and putting her inside. She took off her halter and closed the door, heading back to the house. She noticed some sandwiches' Austin had bought, so she grabbed one and sat down beside Molly, beginning to eat, watching Lia on the baby monitor as she ate and Lia slept.
"Austin knows about Taffy" Molly said, as she looked over at Chloe.
Chloe took a bite of her sandwich and simply nodded

"Chloe, you can't let this bum you out all day. You didn't know. It could have been caused when she was in the pasture trotting around with the other horses. You can't blame yourself," Austin announced as he sighed, a little disappointed that she was slamming herself.

Chloe looked over at Austin and knew he was right. "ok" she said. "how was town?" She asked, changing her mood, and taking another bite of her sandwich. "oh, Lia has her 9 month check up at 3pm today" Chloe reminded Austin as she got up to get some water. "I really hope she doesn't need shots...you know how she gets with shots" The thought of Lia getting a shot...made Chloe sad. She never liked seeing her baby girl cry, and she always did whenever she had to get a shot

Chloe nodded and she continued to eat her sandwich. After lunch, she headed upstairs to get Lia ready to go. Lia didn't like the doctor at all. Chloe changed her diaper and then put on one of her winter outfits to keep her nice and warm. "ok sweetie" Chloe said. "you're ready to go." she picked Lia up and headed downstairs. "we should leave soon" Chloe said to Austin. "the doctors office is about 45 mins to an hour away, and if we hit traffic it'll make the trip longer" She said, as she set Lia in her baby walker for a while
