Chloe started the car and began driving back to her house. Rain started hitting the windshield, soon it was pouring. Chloe turned on the wipers and continued driving. When she pulled into the driveway, she stopped the car and grabbed an umbrella from the back seat. Opening the car door, she opened the umbrella and waited for Austin on his side of the door. When they got inside, Chloe set the umbrella outside so it could dry and she then went up to her room to change her clothes as they had gotten a little bit wet. She went back downstiars a while later and headed over to the couch, yawning when she sat down. "why can't you just quit?" she asked. "I get you love it, but if you get into another plane crash...you could die"

"Chloe, I know you want me to quit. But I told you, I can't. Being a pilot is who I am. And things like this crash do not happen a whole lot. Aviation has become a whole lot safer in the past 50 years," Austin said after he had hung his jacket and hat up on the coat rack. He looked at Chloe. "I also have simulator training in a few weeks. It's something I have to do every six months in my career. If I can't do my simulator training, I will think about it. But until then, no. I am not going to quit." He looked at her with his eyes pleading her to stop asking him to quit. That was something he could not do. He did not want to fee like he needed to raise his voice to her and stomp hi food down on the situation. But if he had to, then he would.

"fine" Chloe said. "That doesn't mean I wont worry about you" she said. "Because I will." She wanted to stand up and kiss him then and there, but she didn't know if it was the best idea at that moment. She sighed and stood up, walking over to him, she put her arms around his neck and said. "promise me one thing" she said. "you'll never forget how much I love you when you're flying" she said, leaning forward and kissing him. She kissed him for a while before she pulled away again. "Because I do love you." she said. "I love you so much and I always think about you when you're flying. I worry about you." she said. "you're the best boyfriend i've ever had and I want to see where we end up in our lives." she said

Austin wrapped his arm around Chloe. "Deal." Austin said as he pulled her in for a long passionate kiss. "But don't worry about me too much. We don't need you in the hospital next," Austin said as he chuckled. He was glad that she was seeing it how he did. He then walked over to the window to look out at the pouring rain. "Why don't we go out to the ranch tomorrow and Molly can choose her room. I think some time in the country is what I need. I miss the quiet at night. It has been a little hard for me to fall asleep here with the highway nearby. We can stay out there for a few days."

"Yea" Chloe said. "I like that idea, and we can trailer Beauty and Athena over there as well." Chloe said. Just then, the front door opened. "heyyyy" Molly said. "sorry i'm a little late." Chloe looked at her watch. "Actually, Mols, you're early." she said. Molly looked at her. "am I? What time is it?" she asked, looking at her watch. "3:30?" Molly sighed. "well, I finished everything up at the ranch, so I came home early." Chloe walked to the door and took her best friends coat. "we're heading out to the ranch tommrow so you and I can pick our rooms." Chloe said. Molly nodded. "alright" she said, rubbing Ellie behind the ears.

Over the next few weeks, Austin was able to get the sling off his arm and was permitted to fly again. But that was not until he had his simulator training. Austin had decided that Chloe would just share his room with him and once they were all moved in to Austin's place, he felt much better being back in the country. He was not okayed to do overwhelming chores such as bucking hay or carrying heavy items over 30lbs. But he was okayed to do light chores around the ranch such as riding, driving the tractor and things like that. His grandfather had been forced to hire an extra few hands on the ranch since Austin could not do much. It made things a little lighter for George since his knee started to act up as the winter months were about to hit. Austin walked into the living room after helping the new ranch hands with some light chores that morning. "Chloe?" Austin called as he took off his work gloves. "I need to talk to you for a moment."

Chloe was in the round pen working with Beauty, while Molly was in a round pen next to her working with Athena. She turned when she herd Austin call her name. "hey" she said when he came up to her. She kissed him and then looked at him. "whats up?" she asked. Beauty had walked up behind Chloe and was standing there, waiting for Chloe to pet her. Chloe smiled and rubbed her hand along Beauty's neck. "is something wrong?" she asked, suddenly worried. Was he going to break up with her? Was he going to ask her to marry him? what was going on, why did he look so iffy?

"I was wondering if you could do me a huge favor. I have to leave in a few days for my simulator training with Jake. It would be great if you could keep an eye on my pop for me. It's starting to get a little colder. Normally it would be in the 60's here. But I am not sure what is going on with the weather these days. His knee has been acting up a little bit and he has been on bed rest for a few days as ordered by the doctor. If you could make sure he does not do too much, I would really appreciate it," Austin announced as he looked at Chloe. He was really worried about his grandfather. Today it was only in the low 50's, which was cool enough to wear a light jacket. But at night, it got colder. He knew that his grandmother would tell him his grandfather was alright. She did it not to worry Austin, but she knew that Austin still worried.

"yea" Chloe said. "of course." she said. "i would be glad too, Molly and I will be working with the horses for a while, so we can both keep an eye on him." she said, kissing Beauty's nose. Beauty nickered softly and Chloe laughed. "you won't have to worry about a thing, I got this" she promised him, kissing him again. "I've been working on some things with Beauty if you want to see" Chloe said, turning back towards Beauty

"Just for a few moments. I have to go get the field prepped today. We are going to get some of the new calves checked and tagged today. The guys are going to do the heavy lifting for me today since I am still on strict orders not to lift anything heavier than 30lbs by my doctor," Austin said. He then hopped up onto the fence and sat on the top so that he could watch Chloe for a few moments.

Chloe laughed. "ok" she said. She started having Beauty go around in a circle. Beauty tossed her head. "good girl" Chloe said. She had her stop and Chloe walked towards Austin. Beauty followed. "I know it doesn't look like much, but we're getting there" she said. "I want to take her liberty work to the next step" Chloe said. "But the thing is, I don't know how" She sighed and rubbed Beauty's neck. "alright. I'll see you at the house for dinner later." she said. She kissed him and continued working with Beauty

Later that night, Austin returned to the house exhausted as they had spent longer than expected on weighing and tagging the new calves. There were more calves that he thought that were born while he was gone. And some of the cows had hidden their calves in the trees to where Austin, Dean, and Blake had to ride around looking for them. The pasture where the cows were was about 120 acres. He pulled his jacket off as he entered the house and set it along with his hat on the coat rack next to the door. "Darn, that took longer than expected. We have had 32 bulls born and 27 cows. More than I expected," Austin sighed as he sat down on the couch. After a moment of rest, Austin walked over to the fireplace to start up a fire. He stacked some logs up in the fireplace with some kindling and then lit the kindling with a match. Even though his house had proper heating, he also liked to have a fire going this time of year since it made it even more cozy when he was at the house.

Chloe sat down next to him. "why don't we go up to your room?" she suggested, smiling. "you can get comfortable and get ready for your big trip you have coming up." Chloe said, grabbing his hand and helping him to his room. She closed the door and she sat down on the bed. "come here" she said. When he sat down, she pulled him towards her and kissed him for a very long time. "Sorry" she said. "we just haven't had a good kiss in a while" Chloe said, smiling at him.

"Don't be," Austin whispered as he pulled her in for a deeper kiss. He then pulled her down onto the bed where he continued to kiss her and let his hands explore her body. Was this what he wanted? He knew that he wanted her. But not in the way that he did when he was with those flight attendants. To him, she felt good against him, like a missing puzzle piece. He began to deepen the kiss, hoping that she would respond in the same way. If not, he would stop. But obviously this is what she wanted.

Chloe kissed him and let her hands flow across his back. Slowly she stopped kissing him and she fell asleep beside him on the bed. The next morning, Chloe sat up. "oh my god" she said, staring at him. "Did we really just..." she couldn't even finish the sentence. "Austin!" she said, shaking him awake. "do you know what we did?" she asked, slightly scared. She knew what they had done, but it wasn't something she had meant to do. "you're going to be late for your simulation" Chloe said, as she grabbed clothes and got dressed quickly.
