Chloe watched Rose explore the stall for a while longer before she walked over to Star's stall to take a look at her baby. She smiled when she saw the tiny filly sleeping on the ground. Star, eating some hay that was thrown in for her. Chloe grabbed some gloves and headed into the barn loft to throw down a bale of hay. When the bale was on the ground, she headed back down and cut open the hay, grabbing a bat and handing it to Molly for Penelope and another one for Rose. Then she headed into the main house, whistling to Ellie on the way. "hey" She said to Austin. "I'm going to head into town and stop at the pet store, Ellie is out growing her collar and she needs a new one." Chloe said. "wanna come with?" she asked

"Sure, I can drive," Austin announced as he stood up from the table. He grabbed his keys off the hook by the door and headed out to the truck where Maverick followed him. He opened the back door of the truck so that Maverick could jump into the back seat. He figured he would by some dog food since they were a bit low. He gave Maverick a scratch on the head behind his ear as he waited for Chloe to come out with Ellie.

"ok" Chloe said, grabbing Ellie's second leash that was in the main house. "I told Molly, and she kinda wants to come with us...she wants to get a kitten" Chloe said, opening the door to let Ellie in. Molly sat behind Chloe in the truck, Ellie laying on top of her. Chloe got in the front seat and buckled up her seat belt. "you ready back there?" she asked Molly. "yep" Molly said. Ellie barked in agreement. "ok, babe, ready to go?" she asked

Austin almost swore under his breath when Chloe said that Molly wanted to come. He wanted some alone time with Chloe. But it was alright. Maybe later on they could spend some time together. There was just too many interruptions going on this day. "Yep, let's get going," Austin said. He turned on the truck and pulled away from the house. Normally he never went into town more than once a day if needed since it was a little bit of a drive. But at least he could get some gas for the truck so that he had enough for the drive to San Antonio to the airport in a couple of days. When he got home, he just needed to bid for his schedule up in his office.

When they got to the pet store, Chloe asked Molly to put on Ellie's leash, she did that and then they got out of the truck. "ok" Molly said. "I'll meet you guys at the front with my kitten in a little while" she said, heading into the pet store. Chloe put Ellie in the cart and she put her front paws on the outside of it. "I was thinking I'd let Ellie choose her collar" Chloe said to Austin as she pushed the cart into the pet store.

Austin snapped his leash to Maverick's collar and let him walk beside him. He did think it was a little awkward that Ellie was in the cart, but he just shrugged it off. "I think that is a good idea. But can I ask why Molly wants a kitten?" Austin asked. He was not used to having cats as pets. He was only used to the barn cats that lived in the barn to take care of the mice and other rodents. But if Molly wanted one, he would support it. If it made her feel better having something that she could take care of in the house, then it was okay.

"well...she had one when she was a kid" Chloe said. "and she's been asking her parents if she could get another one, but she never got around to it." Chloe said. "so she and I talked, and she thought it would be a good idea if she got a kitten now." she said. "it'll just be an orange tabby cat, she loves those" Chloe said when they got to the collar isle. She lifted Ellie out of the cart and set her down. "ok, Ellie, choose your collar." Chloe said. Ellie sniffed around until she came to a teal green collar, leash and harness combo. "You like that?" Chloe asked. Ellie barked and Chloe bent down and picked it up. "ok, this is the one then" she said, lifting Ellie back up and into the cart beside her new collar and leash

Austin nodded. "Well, if she wants a kitten, then I will support her. But I am not used to having cats in the house. Only out in the barn," Austin said as he headed towards the dog food isle. He looked for a moment before he found the brand that he got Maverick. He picked up a large bag and placed it in the bottom area underneath the basket of the cart. "We might as well get a bag for Ellie so we can be safe. We are supposed to have a good storm next week. And I want to make sure we have enough to last through," Austin said as he had watched the news the night before. He reached for another bag of dog food and placed it underneath the cart as well. "Anything else?" Austin asked.

"Ellie lost her favorite chew toy a few days ago, we should get her another one" Chloe said, heading to the dog toy isle. Ellie instantly found her favorite chew toy and grabbed it in her mouth. "ok, ill get the one she didn't touch" chloe said laughing, grabbing the chew toy that was behind the one Ellie touched. They made there way to the check out. When everything was paid for, they met Molly carrying a cat carrier with a tiny kitten inside, a bag full of essentials for the kitten. "meet Sunrise" Molly said, holding up the cat carrier. Because the dogs were surrounded by barn cats, they didn't care about Sunrise. "she's a cutie" Chloe said, then they all went out to the car, Chloe put the pet stuff in the back seat along with the dogs and Molly.

Austin placed the bags of dog food in the bed of the truck. He had managed to get some new bully sticks for him to chew on in the evening or when he was in his dog bed. Getting into the truck, he backed out of the parking spot. Looking in the rearview mirror to see Maverick sniffing at the carrier. He gave a quiet growl as it was something new. "Maverick, ease off. It's okay." With a sigh, Maverick laid on the seat as he closed his eyes. "Don't worry. Maverick is used to the barn cats. He is just asserting his dominance since he is used to being the only one here and in the house," Austin announced. He knew that Maverick asserted his dominance with Ellie as the leader when she first arrived. He would not even let her near his food or his dog bed. But after a while, he finally got used to her.

Chloe gazed into the back. "do you want me to take Sunrise up here?" she asked Molly. Molly nodded. "yea, that would be great, then Maverick can settle down" she said, rubbing him behind his ears. Molly carefully passed the cat carrier to Chloe and she took it, placing it in her lap, remembering how tiny Ellie was when she first got her. When they pulled up the ranch driveway, Chloe handed Sunrise's carrier back to Molly and she clipped on Ellie's new collar, and harness as they would be walking back to the house to get everything situated. She grabbed Ellie's leash and said. "I'm just going to check on Rose real quick, I'll be back." she said, holding Ellie's leash as she walked to the barn to check on Rose

Austin let Maverick jump out of the truck as he ran over to house to lay on the porch while Austin followed Chloe to the barn. He checked on the horses as well and let Twister out of his stall and into his run so that he could graze in the grass and run around. He then returned to the barn where he walked up behind Chloe and wrapped his arms around her. "So, how are our new horses doing?" Austin asked before he gently kissed Chloe on the neck.

"Hey Rosie" Chloe said, opening the door to make sure her horse had enough hay. When Austin kissed her neck, she turned. "really good" she said. "hey, I was wondering if we could install cameras by their stalls. Because once they get closer to foaling I'll want to check in on them later in the night, but not have to walk all the way to the barn." she said. "lots of people have cameras in their barns" chloe said. "we can talk to your grandparents about it too, but i want to know when Rose and Penelope go into labor"

"Why not," Austin said as Chloe turned to him. He then pulled her into a long kiss. He knew that he wanted her to be happy with him. But he had to pull away when he felt a pain in his shoulder. "Darn it..." He began to rub his right shoulder. "I think I over did it with the bales of straw." It was a minor dull pain, but it was still enough to bother him. Maybe taking the rest of the day off would be better for him so that he could rest his shoulder. "Would you mind bringing in the dog food when you come in?" Austin asked knowing that he needed to take some Aspirin to help with the pain. His doctor had taken him off the hard pain killers so that he did not become addicted to them.

"No, Of course not." she said. "oh, uhm, my brother is brining Caitlin over for, James and Ally are going out of town for a few days, so she'll be spending the night with us." Chloe said, hoping that was ok. Just then, a truck horn honked. "that would be her" Chloe said. She unclipped Ellie's leash, and Ellie went running out of the barn, barking excitedly. Chloe walked out of the barn and met her brother and Caitlin. "Auntie Chloe!!" Caitlin said, as she jumped out of the truck. Chloe lifted her into the air. "hey kiddo!" she said. "you ready for the best 3 days ever?" she asked. Caitlin nodded. "YES!" She said. "hey, thanks for agreeing to take her" James said. "of course, I love my little niece. And we just had a foal born, so she can watch it" Caitlin's eyes lit up. "a little baby horse!!" she squealed. Chloe laughed. She hugged her brother and then James said. "you be good for your auntie Chloe" He kissed her forehead before he got back into the truck. "I will. Bye daddy!" She waived to her dad and Chloe set her down so she could carry her bag. Caitlin saw Austin walking out of the barn and she ran towards him. "AUSTIN!!!" She squealed happily
