Echo would continue down the mountain trail with Sasha beside her, most people when they saw Sasha would avoid her not knowing she was freindly, she looked around for her freinds, but they were gone she was alone on a strange trail a long way from home, "Figures girl ... they just hang with me because of my money nothing else" she said to Sasha, she was dressed in hiking clothes and only had a light spring jacket on, which worried her the weather was going to get cold tonight and there were multiple other dangers like bears and mountain lions to worry about .

Echo dropped her backpack she had packed a survival kit but it was only enough for four days there was a heavy thermal blanket in the kit, she looked at Sasha she would protect her from bears and mountain lions but there were limits to her size and strength she could only protect her for so long, she hiked to a lower part of the trail her feet ached but she pressed on and made it to a forest area that was a camping area, it was empty now as it was nearing the end of camping season, but hopefully someone had left some supplies she could use, she saw some torn sheets of fabric that were possibly part of a tent at one point, she grabbed it and made her way deep into the camping area, she noticed tire tracks that came from one of her friend's trucks she was positive her best friend would come back noticing she wasn't with them.

Echo sighed she looked at the sky it was becoming dark they would have to camp out for the night, she made a makeshift shelter it was big enough for her and Sasha to shelter in, she then looked at her survival kit the food was only enough for four days she had packed lots of water which would ensure both her and Sasha were hydrated, however, the food would be another issue it would soon run out and then Echo would have to find an alternate food source, she knew how to fish and make a fishing rod but it was late in the season so fishing was probably not going to be an option for her, she looked at Sasha " we might have to hunt for are food girl I don't think the fish are biting this late in the season" Echo said as she reached down to remove some burrs from Sasha's coat.

Echo would get the shelter ready for the night she looked at Sasha she was smelling the air was there something out there that was catching her attention Echo would pet Sasha, she then thought about her other pets would Zarr be alright in the stable with Penny her brother's pony they got along alright but Penny did have an attitude problem she had kicked Zarr before which had required a vet visit, she then thought about Giovani and Speck her two cats would her parents take care of them all well she was out here in the wilderness, she then made herself cozy in a sleeping space which was big enough for her and Sasha to curl up with the heavy thermal blanket over the top of them helping them to retain heat, it was a long cold night but Echo didn't mind she needed to catch up on her sleep anyways she curled up and fell asleep with Sasha beside her.

In the morning Echo woke up she could see a shadowy-looking man lurking outside the shelter she had made, she could hear Sasha growling at the intruder she got up to face him his eyes were cold and calculating "Are you the owner of Zarr" The intruder said his voice was cold and direct, "Yes but what does it matter to you Zarr isn't for sale" Echo said getting suspicious of this intruder "Zarr is missing and your parents told me to find you" said the intruder, she didn't get out of the tent getting a feeling this man was lying "You are lying I know all of my parent's friends your not one of them now leave or else I will tell Sasha to attack" Echo said, the man screamed the word B**** before leaving the area she was too afraid to leave then tent for now as the man could come back and who knew what his intentions were.

Echo looked at Sasha "Good, girl" she praised Sasha for protecting her, she then dug through the survival kit for something for them both to eat she then found a bag of beef jerky it wasn't the best breakfast but it would have to work for today, she gave Sasha five pieces and eat three herself the juicy taste of the jerky filled her mouth she had to stop herself from grabbing anymore as they needed to make this food last, she put the bag of jerky away and pulled out a brush she had in her small bag, she then brushed Sasha's fur getting rid of some burrs she couldn't remove earlier, she then was brought back to the time when Sasha was just a puppy her fur had so many burrs it looked like she was a walking porcupine it had taken her hours to get every single burr out of her fur, she was starting to miss her family it had only been a day now since her friends had ditched her, she had only enough survival training to last her one month but something told her it would be longer then a month before a actual trustworthy person found her.

Echo got up with Sasha by her side she could hear nothing except the birds calling from the trees she hadn't seen that strange man yet but she was still cautious about leaving the camp as it could easily be raided by wild animals, she then remembered that walking would be good as it can bring the heart rate up and warm the body she looked at Sasha "Feel like going for a walk Sasha" she said her dog barked and she would start walking away from camp after putting the food up high out of the reach of most wild animals, she could smell the mountain air it was refreshing and gave her new energy as they walked towards a lake Echo could hear the cries of what sounded like an animal in distress she broke out into a run with Sasha following her they came across a young fox it was in the lake struggling to swim it didn't look sick it was healthy looking.

Echo had to make a choice save the fox or leave it to drown, no she wasn't a monster she quickly dove into the water ignoring the bone-chilling cold she grabbed the fox and brought it to shore where it lay exhausted from having to swim, she looked at Sasha who was already bending down licking the fox's fur the wrong way to warm it up, she then gave the fox a small piece of dried salmon jerky she didn't like it but Sasha loved it she looked at Sasha, she didn't see a vixen anywhere was this fox all alone with no one to care for it she thought, as she pulled two towels from her bag she wrapped herself in one and the fox in the other which she picked up guessing this fox was an orphan now.

Echo looked around for any signs of other people but so far she was still alone aside from that shady guy she had met, "How long have we been here Sasha it feels like just yesterday we went on a camping trip" Echo said, she would see the sky starting to get dark in a few days it would be fall and she would have to try and find warmer clothing, it had strangely been a mild summer not to hot just a little chilly, "ECHO...ECHO" said a voice too far away for her to locate, she looked down at Sasha "Do you know where that voice is coming from girl" she said to Sasha, the dog just looked up at her not giving a single bark or moving towards the voice, it was clear they were a few days journey from there makeshift campsite, which they headed back too and had something to eat and drink before calling it a night and falling asleep.

Echo woke up facing a bear she remained calm trying not to agitate the bear she knew the bear had smelled her food but she couldn't reach it without alerting the bear, she noticed Sasha had opened her bag she quickly grabbed some pieces of the salmon jerky and tossed it outside of her makeshift camp the bear smelling the jerky left the campsite much to Echo's relief, "That was good thinking girl when we get home you deserve all the treats my parents can make" Echo said as she reached down to pet Sasha praising her for opening the backpack to allow her to grab some food for the bear, she could tell that the air was getting colder and it was time to head where the woods were a little warmer, but she couldn't just leave the fox she found it didn't have anyone to care for it.

Echo scooped up the fox after dismantling their makeshift tent and packing it up she could feel the air getting colder, how long until winter came she thought as she and Sasha started to walk to where the wind wasn't so vicious, she then thought about Zarr he didn't like cold weather and she had to admit neither did she but here she was in the mountains of Alberta without anyone else, she looked at Sasha noticing how rough the rottweiler's coat was getting "Soon I will brush you out girl just a bit further" she said as they had almost reached their destination, she could hear the sounds of horses but were they tame or wild she wondered as they came into view.

Echo came within view of the horses they were all so pretty she could see that they were tame as they didn't bolt as soon as they saw Echo, she could read the name on a bridle of a big bay horse "Samson hmm I know of that name.." Echo said she was surprised to see a girl around her age come towards her, she didn't seem to know Echo "Hey what are you doing with Samson he is my horse" said the girl that surprised Echo clearly this girl didn't recognize her, they had been in a local horse show together with her riding Zarr "I'm Echo the owner of Zarr don't say you don't remember me, Chloe, your horse beat Zarr easily in the show jumping competition" Echo said, which caused Chloe to retort "Of course I do but you look like Demons how long have you been out here alone" Chloe said.

Echo turned to look at Chloe "I was ditched by my freinds or so I thought they were my freinds" Echo said she then showed Chloe the orphan fox, "Can you call someone to take this fox I need to look after Sasha" Echo said to Chloe the girl who was her freind and rival at the same time, she looked at the fox "Yeah I can do that do you want me to call your mom and dad too there pretty worried for you they have been calling here every few minutes" Chloe said as she reached down to pet Sasha who gave a wag of her tail, she paused before giving her answer "Yes please call them and tell them I am alright although I wished I knew where I was" Echo said .

Echo would then grab a brush from her bag and get rid of the burrs sticking to Sasha's fur as Chloe went back into her house to phone a wildlife rehab company to take the orphan fox and then call Echo's parents, she couldn't wait to be back with them but for now she was fine on her own or at least she wished she was as this was not a good situation as her navigation and survival skills could only take her so far, she would have to find her way out of the area back to her parents somehow no matter if she was found by a search party or on her own, where she would then break up with the people she thought were her real freinds who only ditched her with no way to get home.
