This is an RP set in the days of dragon riders, when dragons could be befriended, tamed and ridden. The riders live in a vast fortress of a mountain they call, The Nest, as a joke. But in reality it is a stronghold that protects the last remaining dragons from the hands of the evil riders.
You guys can start virtually however you want. It is about mid-morning.

Dagor
Most mornings Dagor could be found in his forge mending or creating weapons, nothing was different today. ''Spruce,'' he growled, ''ye let the fire die down again!'' Spruce gave an answering grumble and dragged his bulk over to the furnace and belched in some more red hot lava, he then flopped down again and began to make huge rumbling snores. Dagor rolled his eyes, as he placed a sword to heat over the newly formed flames before going back to shaping a barbed arrow head with his hammer, which also happed to double as a weapon.

Elexian
Elexian quietly walked through the past the stables and caves where the dragons were kept. Hardly giving any notice to the people and reptiles surrounding him. He was going to the back, where the cages were kept. Finally he walked up to the thick metal bars, behind which, curled up at the very back, was a feathered water dragon. He inhaled a slight breath at her beauty though he had already seen her nearly every day for weeks. The dragon shifted its scale and feathered body suddenly and opened her sea blue eyes. She growled at the tall elf standing right outside her cage door. She hated people, hated everyone. The dragon bared her teeth in warning, but the elf still stood there. He pulled from his pocket a large chunk of dried beef a tossed it through the bars. The dragon merely looked at it then fixed her angry gaze back to the elf. Elexian knew she would never eat while he was watching, so with one last glance he retreated and walked back toward the stables, deep in thought.

Alalëa
A whistling, then a sharp crack rang out of the training grounds, a gleaming silver Urumi sword slicing neatly through the training dummy and wrapping around the portion still staked in the ground. A force made it fling back out again, and with a jerk upwards, the metal links began to slide together, a rattling sound moving in a wave down the metal until a shining solid blade formed, which was then promptly stabbed into the, now half, training dummy. The wielder tossed a strand of hair from her eyes as sweat rolled down her skin, her braid flapping against her back at the swift movement of her head. With a strong pull the sword came loose from the wood, only to impale the earth a moment later, vibrating slightly from the impact. Alalëa ran a swift hand through her hair, breathing fast from the exercise, the sun not making it any easier as it beat down mercilessly. As she stood, letting the mountain breezes cool her skin, the sounds of the Nest came back into reality, the heavy clanging from the weaponsmithers, the faint roars and wingbeats of various dragons, and overall a general hum of speech. Her dark violet eyes swept the border of the training grounds, pausing for a moment to unconsciously follow the movement of a large passing earth dragon before moving to the rest of the scene. To say it was not uncommon for her to be found in this place at this time would be an understatement, as her swift precise movements dictated. Brushing that rogue strand from her face again, she moved to pick up her weapon, then sharply jerked her head over to the earth dragon again... or more accurately, it's shadow. Just as she moved to look, two glowing pale eyes emerged from the darkness. She relaxed "Come my friend, no sense in sneaking about when you know you are welcome" she said, motioning for the owner of those gleaming eyes to join her. A moment of silence, then, to the earth dragons utter horror, a sturdily built, midnight blue dragon rose from the shadow, giving the earth dragon barely a glance before stepping forwards onto the training grounds and over to her rider. Alalëa allowed a slight smile to form on her lips. "You are late today, Visilva" she said simply, reaching down and drawing her sword from the ground. Visilva rumbled low in her throat, narrowing her eyes in annoyance at this impertinent comment. She was never late, if anything, her rider was early. The girl chose to ignore the dragon's grumblings, instead focusing on the next target a few feet away and readying her stance.

Blizzard
Sarah pulled Blizzard back towards the stable, and landed her neatly. "there we go" Sarah said, dismounting her dragon and patting her scales. She took off the saddle and hung it up in her saddle section before she filled up a bucket of water for Blizzard. "Good flying today sweet girl" Sarah said, as she placed the bucket of water in front of Blizzard. Blizzard bent her head into the water bucket to take a nice long drink of water. "refreshing" Blizzard said, with a slurp as she continued drinking the water. Sarah chuckled a bit as she heard the growl come from her dragon, then she added more water into her dragons water bucket. "if you're hungry, you can go into the forest for a hunt, Blizzard" Sarah said. Blizzard nodded to her before dipping her head in the water again

Elexian passed by the weapons train arena and saw Alalëa practicing with her exotic blade. He thought her rather good, but would most definitely not tell her so. Suddenly from the shadow of a passing earth dragon a large dark dragon appeared. He smiled a little, what a power. He leaned against the stone wall and watched as the elf girl interacted with her dragon, his heart yearned for that sort of relationship. Someday, maybe not soon, but someday, he thought with confidence.

Sorgen was still yawning on his way to the stables. He had been awoken loudly out of bed that day by one of his sisters jumping onto his bedspread. “Oh no!” Sorgen leaped out of bed, and quickly put on his hood and vest. “Oh great, out of bed late AGAIN.” He quickly rushed outside and navigated his way past several houses, until he had reached the dragon stables, where Regen, his dragon, was already turning in short circles, impatiently awaiting her riders arrival. “Yes, yes, I’m here, I’m sorry!”, Sorgen opened the door to her stable, and she rushed out, almost tearing him to the floor in the process, her tail energy beginning to cackle gently. It was apparent she wanted to fly a bit, but Sorgen. Alles her down, and handed her a chunk of meat. “You’ve got to eat first.”, he explained. After Regen had gulped down the meat, she almost took off, then remebered that she was supposed to await her masters approval before taking off. “She impatiently twitched her tail back and forth, looking expectantly at Sorgen, who hopped onto her back. “Alright girl, take off!”, he gave his approval. “Just not,”, Regen took off, circled, and then almost nosedived. “So fast!”, he finished off, holding onto her tightly, still enjoying the wind in his hair.

Alalëa focused on the oak figures in front of her, letting the sounds fade from her mind, concentrating on her breathing and form. Then she leapt forward, whipping out her sword as she flicked her wrist towards the target. With a rattling whistle the links slid apart, the weapon elongating twice it's length, white metal links flashing in the sunlight. With a sharp sound the keen edged links sliced into the wood, the flexible metal wrapping around the figure's neck with alarming speed, a swift crack audible before the round block of wood fell to the earth, just Alalëa yanked the whip outwards, striking the figure on the opposite side of her and completing the same move, her breath coming hard and fast as she moved with the weapon, yanking it out and whipping it upwards to solidify it before throwing herself forwards and slashing the last, finally coming back to her previous stance before sliding the sword with a quick movement into it's sheath, which hung from her waist, a slight smile crossing her face from the satisifying feel of a good workout.
Visilva watched with apparent boredom, even managing to yawn slightly and glancing around, sitting behind her rider, her tail flicking as she searched for something more appropriate to focus her attention on. A yell caught her notice and she twisted her head around, then up, then snorted in disappointment. Just that cloud brained energy worm taking another uncoordinated nose dive it would appear. Juvenile. With a scornful sneer she dismissed the pair as not worth her time, especially as she could feel someone's gaze almost burning into her scales. With a very annoyed glare she whipped her head over in the direction of the disturbance, eyes narrowing at the source, a dark haired elf watching them... from the shadows of a stone wall. A tempted gleam sparked in her eyes, and she risked a glance at her rider, who was midway through her third strike. Did she have enough time? It was just too good of an opportunity to miss!

Elexian's attention was shifted suddenly when he heard a scream come from the air. Another novice rider? Please, he didn't even have a dragon and he knew he could do better than that!

Sorgen held on tightly to Regen as she did her favorite trick, a loop-the-loop. He breathed slowly and wrapped his legs around her moist body tightly, drawing out his dagger, he sped towards the top of a tree, cutting off the tip of it. "Got it!" He smirked quietly to himself, and let Regen go up, from where she directed a second nosedive, this time a spinning one, and leveled off just before hitting the ground. "Whew.", Sorgen said to himself, "that was a close one. He directed Regen onto the ground, scratching her ears. "Ok Regen, we're going to run now.", he said, eyeing the uneven forrest floor warily. "You see that little tree back there? We're going to charge it, and I'm going to fling this dagger at is as we pass it." He gave Regen the sign for running, and she took off. She was somewhat slower on the ground than she was in the air, but she laced her ears back flicked her head, and she was off, dodging the rocks and stumps along the way like a snake, her energy starting to cackle. As they passed the tree, Sorgen pulled out one of his practice daggers, and held it by his side, then whipped it out, and with a flick of his wrist, released the weapon. It span in the air, hurtling in a perfectly straight line, then ended its journey, lodged firmly in a tree. Sorgen spun Regen around, and she stopped. Although they hadn't been running for long, she needed a drink, as the sun had completely risen already, and after retrieving his dagger, Sorgen lead her to the water place.

Blizzard
Blizzard walked beside Sarah and into the training grounds. "Look Blizzard, I know we don't do any training of sorts, but I promise we're going to get there...eventually" she said. Blizzard let out a snort and looked around the training grounds, she took off into the air and flew around it a few times before landing back down by Sarah.

Visilva sneaked another look at her rider, then back over to the silent elf, who'd turned his gaze to the skies to observe the insane novice riding show going on up there, which she did not bother to glance at again. Hmmm... the only issue was... how to get over there? She couldn't necessarily walk away without alerting her rider. Her thoughts were broken as a sleek ice dragon stepped into the training grounds. Her scornful smirk emerged again as she watched it hop into the air and flap around then land by its rider again. Oh goodness. An ice butterfly. whatever next? She grinned at her own thoughts. Novices. Everyone around them were novices. That thing hardly looked like it even knew how to fly without it's rider on its back! And that rider... goodness did she even use a weapon? She gave a snort and grinned in an extremely disdainful way at them, then froze, a more pleased grin spreading over her muzzle. Dragon + Sun = shadow. perfect. The rattling of the Urumi sword as the links clicked back together told her she didn't have much time, and so she began quietly inching away from Alalëa, nonchalantly slipping towards the ice dragon, until she got just within the border of it's larger shadow. For a moment she caught the dragon's eye and gave her a terrifying smirk. "Watch your step, icicle snout" she growled, then suddenly merged into the shadow, disappearing in a swift movement, thankfully before the ice dragons rider could notice her. The sensation of merging into a shadow was one that Visilva knew she would never be able to explain to any other beast. The feeling of becoming something unseeable, and yet so visible... being able to smell and see and hear, and yet be none of those things herself. It only took a moment for the ice dragons shadow to touch another, and with that she was off, slipping from one to the next, using quite a large amount of concentration to keep herself attentive enough to match each shadows shape, be it a dragon, a stick or a boulder. Just a few shadows away from that dark haired elf she thought to herself, although it was more of a sense than a thought in that form.
Alalëa gave another satisfied smile to the demolished training dummies, as reality began to surface to her mind once again, especially the reality of other presences in the training grounds. With a mildly annoyed look she turned and glanced at the two, who didn't seem to even know what they were doing in the training grounds. She sighed and shook her head, then suddenly looked around in slight alarm. Now where had Visilva snuck off to? She gave a mild sigh, brushing a strand of hair from her eyes as she allowed herself to familiarize herself with the surroundings, knowing that her companion couldn't have gotten far, even through the shadows, in that short amount of time.

Elexian turned when he saw a very bright dragon appear in the arena, he smiled to himself, he had a lot of work to do. It would be quite a while before he made a warrior pair of the two. He glanced back at the other elf still sliding at wooden dummies with her sword, then realization hit him, where was the shadow dragon!?

Blizzard
Blizzard growled lightly when she saw the shadow dragon and then turned as Sarah began walking. She followed after her. Sarah turned and saw Elexian, she walked up to him and smiled. "there you are!" She said. "I have been looking for you all morning!" she said. Blizzard let out a snort. "ok...maybe since Blizzard and I got back from our ride this morning" she said. "anyway. Are you ready to start my training for the day?" she asked her friend.

Visilva was only a shadow way from the wall, and the elf, when she registered the sound of other footsteps approaching him, a sense of glee filling her. Three for the price of one! Wonderful. Slipping into the walls shadow, a feeling of excitement took over, breaking her concentration slightly, although she didn't notice, and leaving the very tip of her dark tail visible. Deeming the time right, just as the female rider asked a question, she suddenly pulled herself out of the shadow, spreading her wings wide and letting out a terrifying dark snarl as she rose to her full height, trying to force the wide disdainful grin from emerging, which would ruin the effect of the terrifyingness.
Alalëa frowned as she looked over the training grounds, observing the ice dragon move with it's rider to speak with an elf, whom she hadn't noticed leaning against the stone wall earlier. Ah, Elexion. She gave a slight shake of her head. She couldn't imagine purposefully surrounding herself with novices! How absolutely frustrating that would be. With her gaze being in the direction, she had the perfect angle to view, with slight dismay, Visilva emerge from the nothingness of the shadowy wall, letting out a deep thundering snarl as she spread her wings, creating a dark shadow over the group. Oh goodness. Not again. With a sigh she began quickly walking over, an unamused glare settling over her face.
