"Its fine" Nala promised from the inside of her cave. "Simba and the other lions will be in their caves for shelter, and besides, the rain will wash away your scent train" She pointed out. "So even if they do come this way, it will just smell like fresh rain" Nala said, as she almost poked her head out of her cave.

Osaraka nodded. “I guess that one good thing about the rain. How long have you been living here, exactly? I wouldn’t know, because I never stay in one place for very long. You, on the other paw, seem to know your way around here somewhat. I suppose you’ve been here for a quite a while, then?”

Nala shrugged. "I honestly don't know" she said. "I believe I found this cave....either last winter or spring" Nala told her. "once you get to know where everything is, like where the food likes to hang, the best places to drink water, the best places to sun bathe, its really not that hard to find anything" she said. "If you stayed here for a while, you'd really like it" Nala promised. "I know I really like it here" she said, with a smile, and then she shivered a bit. "its always cold when it rains" she said, shivering again

Osaraka looked around. "I've never stayed in one place for longer than three weeks after I ran away. I used to live more down south in the jungle, which is actually where I'm supposed to live, but yeah, I kind of ran away from there. I kind of enjoy the freedom of being mostly nomadic, but it is quite dangerous at times, like once whe I couldn't find any sourse of water to drink from for several days. I'm not a fan of water at all, but not any is worse than too much."

"I know what you mean" Nala said. "not being able to have ANY source of water is the worst" she said, with a hiss at the thought of not having any water. "I know that the reason I hate rain...is kind of stupid" Nala said. "but thats how I lost my parents" she said. "so of course I hate t" she mumbled

Osaraka thought a while. "How did that happen, if its alright to ask? Flash flood?", she guessed.

Nala shook her head. “No” she said. Sighing shakily. “Osaraka…” she said. “My…my father was struck by lightning.” She said, shuddering at the memory. “My mother….” She stopped, looking down at the ground, her paws shifting nervously. “My mother died….from….from a tornado” she said. “It was raining really hard. It was just me and her.” She said. “I watched the whole thing. As the tornado got closer, she told me to run. So I did” Nala said. “But she didn’t follow me. And when I turned around, she was…she was dead” Nala said.

Osaraka was silent for a moment, stunned at the depth of the things Naa had just told her. "Oh my goodness!", she said when she got her tounge again. "I can't imagine how horrible that is. I am so sorry." She pulled closer to Nala, and wrapped her tail around hers.

Nala smiled a bit and leaned against her new friend. She nuzzled her. “Its ok” Nala said. “Really. It is.” Nala said. “I miss them, every day.” She said. “But….what happened. That’s why I hate rain” she said. “And tornados if you think about it” Nala said, heaving a sigh.

Osaraka nodded slightly. "I understand.", she said slowly. "You hate rain, I hate water in general. It all pans out. I've never actually seen a tornado. Are they sort of like volcanoes? We had those were I used to live."

Nala shrugged. “Well…Tornados are like funnels that move super fast towards you in a rotating motion” she said. “I don’t really remember much else, except for the fact that it was scary.” Nala said. “I remember laying against my mothers body afterwards….I slept with her that night.” Nala said, shifting again. “I…I really miss her” she said

Osaraka was quiet for a while after Nala said that. "After a while she spoke up. "That's... just horrible. Volcanoes are different. Theyre like cones that point up, and they spit fiery lava, hot enough to kill you on instant. We lost one cub that way."

Nala shuddered. "I've never seen a volcano" she said, shuddering again. "how do they work?" she asked, as her tail flicked a bit behind her

Osaraka licked her teeth. "Well, the way that one came about, one day, there was a rumbling sound, and the floor started breaking and cracking, and black smoke started to rise. Then, out of the hole started flowing a lot of this red hot molten thing called lava, which set everything on fire it came across. Many of us ran, but not all of us made it. The whole sky turned black , clouding everything. The whole place was confusion and chaos, and a lot of animals predicted that we would all die. After a few days, the smoke vanished, but there where had been a beautiful patch a forest, there was a brown, barren, and still smoking cone, with yet more of the killing liquid slowly oozing out of the top of the cone. Things returned to almost normal, but ever once in a while, it would rumble, then erupt again, increasing the now mountainous thing each time."

Nala blinked, unsure of what to say. "wow..." she managed to get out. "that sounds worse than a tornado" She admitted. "Did you know the cub that died?" Nala suddenly asked, shifting a bit to get more comfortable.
