A family's two pets have been enemies for the longest time but after a while they slowly became friends and even manage to stop a intruder who had broken into there home while there family was away on vacation. By working together to foil the intruders plan to rob the home and take away the family's valuables they will not rest until there home is safe from the threat of this invader of there home .

Autumn stretched in her cozy bed. She looked around and noticed the sun was just beginning to rise. Standing up and jumping onto the couch in the living room, Autumn puts her front paws on the window sill. She lets out a happy sigh and sits down, looking around as the sun was rising. She let out a soft purr and then jumped off the couch and padded into the kitchen, where her morning breakfast had not been poured yet. Autumn always managed to wake up before her house folk, so she decided, that a nice drink of water and then some grooming would do her good.

Rusty got up and stretched he then went towards the kitchen where his food bowl and water bowl were, he could see that his food bowl was empty so he drank some water instead, he looked outside it was starting to rain he would normally go outside to play by the creek near there home but today he felt like staying close to home, his tail wagging slightly as he put his front paws on the kitchen island he didn't see any signs of the humans having breakfast what if they went out on a road trip without him.

Autumn looked up from her grooming when she saw Rusty. Her eyes glowed and she stood up in her bed and raced over to him, purring happily. “Morning!!” She said to him, rubbing her head along his legs. “Did you have a good sleep?” She asked, as she crouched low and crept under his belly.

Rusty wagged his tail "Good morning to you too Autumn" he said as he dropped all four paws to the floor, he was pleased that the humans didn't take Autumn either he didn't really like being alone, "I had a good enough sleep although I am sure there is some of my fur in my bed" Rusty said as he got down close to Autumn's level, he didn't hear their masters leave there dwelling did that mean they left without taking him and Autumn with them to this magical place called vacation, why didn't they take them do humans have something against dogs and cats traveling with there masters/house folk.

Autumn purred a bit. “Well I wouldn’t be surprised if the house folk cleaned up your bed” Autumn said, looking around. “Where are they anyways?” Autumn asked, looking around as her stomach growled. “I’m starving!” Autumn announced as she looked around.

Rusty looked at Autumn's food dish "I don't know I overheard them speaking of this place called vacation whatever that means I'm hungry too" he said as he let out a loud bark trying to get someone's attention, he then heard the sounds of the dwelling's front door being opened he could smell floral perfume on the human*, "I'm coming my sweetie pies" spoke the voice he then saw her walking towards the kitchen where they were finally they would get there food.
*That's the neighbor btw*

Autumn purred. It was the nice lady who always took care of them when there humans went out of down. She also came over to let Rusty out during the day. Autumn could see Rusty’s tail wagging as the lady poured his food into his dish, then she poured Autumns food into her dish as well. Autumn purred and rubbed her head on the lady’s leg (lady needs a name). The lady bent down and scratched Autumn behind the ears before picking up their water bowls to refill them with fresh water.

Rusty would eat his food slowly his tail never stopped wagging not for a minute he was a fairly happy dog and loved going outside, he liked it when it was muddy as it would cool him off far faster than panting ever would, he knew the lady had a name but he wasn't very good with names only with doors which he could open very easily, "I know she has a name what was it Lilly, Rose ...something with flowers or was it something else" he said as he finished his food and walked back towards Autumn, he could see that outside looked very muddy he liked it better when there was puddles, it just looked wet outside and not the fun kind of wet the other kind of wet the one that clung to your fur and was nearly impossible to get rid of.
*I think her name should be something simple like Daisy or Iris* (What Rusty said was just him guessing the name it has nothing to do with her name)

Autumn let out a morrow of laughter. "Her name is Iris fleabrain" Autumn teased him, flicking him gently with her tail. "I'll be staying with you sweeties tonight" Iris said, as she sat down on the couch. "Your owners asked me to, as yesterday they checked the weather and it's supposed to thunder storm tonight" Iris told them. Autumn let out a hiss, she raced over to Rusty and crawled under his belly, trembling. Autumn didn't do thunderstorms....Autumn hated thunderstorms. But at least Iris would be their with them that night

Rusty looked at Autumn "I will protect you from the big nasty storm" he said trying to sound braver than he felt, he didn't like thunder either as it was loud and scary and sometimes hurt his ears, he then thought back to the time they first met he could still feel Autumn's sharp claws on him even though they no longer hated each other, he missed his owners he knew Iris was a good person but he still didn't feel safe as there has been a recent crimewave in their neighborhood, as far as he knew the thieves haven't come to their home yet but it was only a matter of time.

Autumn purred a little bit at Rusty's bravery, but she knew he was just as scared as she was. Autumn looked out the window, and realized that the sun was disappearing, and it was being replaced with grey fluffy clouds. Autumn let out a hiss as rain began to fall. She scrambled over to Iris, who was watching tv on the couch. She jumped up, and curled up on her lap. "Oh Autumn" Iris said gently, rubbing her behind the ears. "its just rain, no thunder yet sweetie" She promised as she continued to pet Autumn lovingly

Rusty layed down a bit close to the couch he didn't mind the rain but he didn't like thunder, he looked up at Autumn "It will be okay Iris will protect us both" Rusty said trying to reassure Autumn that everything would be alright, he tried to ignore the feeling he had deep down that soon something was going to happen to there house, but he tried to push that feeling aside as far as he knew the thieves were only striking the houses were rich humans lived there was no way they would strike there home at least he thought they wouldn't, he tried to put his mind at ease by watching the tv he couldn't see color so he paid more attention to the audio of the show Iris was watching, he sometimes found the tv very comforting, especially during a scary situation like this thunderstorm that was raging outside.

Autumn smiled at him. "I know" She purred softly as she jumped off Iris' lap and strolled over to Rusty, laying down beside him, she curled up near his paws and purred a bit again. She felt her eyes close as she snuggled up for a morning nap. When Autumn woke up again later on in the day, it was still raining. She let out a hiss as she stood up and stretched. Autumn then jumped onto the couch and put her front paws on the window sill, watching as rain splattered down from the sky and onto the window. Autumn jumped back as a clap of thunder sounded. She let out another hiss, along with a growl, before she slunk over to her cat tree.

Rusty heard the thunder and started to whimper he put a brave face on but thunderstorms scared him, he looked up to see Iris was beside him and started to pet him "It will be okay Rusty..I promise you" Iris said as she went back to watching the show well petting Rusty still, he noticed Autumn had left the room probably to hide in her cat tree until the loud noises stopped, he wished he had some safe place to hide until the loud noises were gone but the human petting him was enough to calm his anxious nerves, he just wished wherever their masters/house folk were that they were safe as well and able to avoid this terrible storm that was raging on outside with a fury.
