Cass makes her way over to the spot where she had instructed the squires to meet her. "Come on out kids. I can see you lot you know. If you were trying to sneak up on me, you're going to need to do better than that" she says dryly, prompting the group of six kids to come out from their hiding spots. "Good. Now shall we begin? Go on, collect your wooden training swords" she says gruffly.

Kennadee worked with Glimmer for about 2 and a half hours before she could see her getting tired. "Alright, Glim" Kennadee said. "Come on in" She put her arm up and Glimmer swooped down, landing on her arm nice and easily. "Good girl" She said, rubbing her head before she headed back to the barracks. "Do you need to cool off in the stream?" She asked, knowing Glimmer liked to cool off in the stream after a training session. She held her arm out in case Glimmer wanted to go to the stream. Which, it seemed she did. Glimmer took off and began flying towards the stream. Kennadee smiled. She knew that Glimmer would return after her little cool off in the stream later on. She knew her way back to the barracks, so Kennadee wasn't worried

"Alright... come on. Come at me." Cass says, picking up one of the wooden training swords. She wasn't going to use real steel against children. This was just to teach them a thing or two as they worked towards actually being knighted. She had been working with them for about two and a half hours now, and had gotten to work with most of them one on one so far. But she still had another two kids waiting their turn. She was holding back, since they were kids and she most certainly was not. She didn't want them to feel completely discouraged. That wouldn't do them any good in the long run.

As she was heading back to the barracks, Kennadee could see Cass training with the younger knights. She smiled and whistled for Glimmer who was flying back towards the barracks. Kennadee switched her direction and headed towards Cass. Sitting down on the grass and leaning up against a tree so she could watch

Cass nods slightly in Kenn's direction as she parried the child's blow with her own sword. She turns her gaze back over to the child in front of her. "Did you see what I did? Now, I want you to try the same. A good parry can be the difference between life and death in a real battle. Even a good suit of armor has it's weak points. You want to avoid getting hit whenever possible" she says, motioning for the child to get ready. She of course wasn't going to go at him with the same level of force she would an adult. These were children after all, and she wasn't a monster. This was his first try blocking an attack as well, so she was going to give him plenty of notice. A real enemy wouldn't wait for him to be ready, but practice for unseen attacks would come later. "Good, now you need to use the blade of your sword to block mine" she says, raising her own sword.

Kennadee smiled. Cass was so amazing with these kids. It was incredible to think that she even had the patience for it. She got out her sketch book and a little ink pen and began to draw her surroundings. Kennadee always loved to draw. She never told anyone she could though as it wasn’t something she loved to share, but she was actually really good at it.

After about another hour and a half of working with the kids, Cass stows the wooden training sword back into the rack. "Alright kids, that's enough for now. The sun is starting to set. Stow the training weapons and run along to your homes. Your parents will likely be waiting for you" she says. She would tolerate a lot more from children than she would adults. After all, what was youth if not a time to make mistakes, to grow and learn from them? She quirks an eyebrow slightly as one of the younger kids wraps their arms around her waist, looking up at her with gratitude. "Thank you for teaching us" he says. Now this, she didn't know what to do with. She could be patient with the kids, but this was more than she had bargained for. "You're welcome kid" she says, awkwardly patting the child's back with one hand, before gently but firmly prying him loose from her waist and nudging him towards the other kids. "Now run along. Go back to your mum and dad" she says.

Kennadee finished up her light sketching as the kids left. "Those kids seem like they'll make great knights one day" She said, standing up. "As for me, I decided to do some light sketching while you were training them" She said, handing Cass her sketch pad. Kennadee trusted Cass. She usually didn't show her drawings to many people, but Cass had agreed to be her friend, so Kennadee knew she could trust Cass with her drawings.

"I'm sure they will. They've got a long road ahead of them to get there, but they've got the tenacity to make it as long as they put in the work to get there." Cass says, glancing out at the sun setting in the distance. It had certainly been a long day. She turns her head slightly as Kenn holds out her sketch book, carefully taking it. "You do good work. If you weren't already a knight, I'd say you could make a career out of it" she says. She had never really tried sketching herself, but she could play the lute. Though she rarely every did. Work kept her busy, and she preferred to be busy in any case.

"Thanks" Kennadee said. "I've never really showed anyone my sketches before" She admitted. "Usually its just something I do in my spare time" She admitted. "How about we head back to the barracks, see if we can find Gale and then do something for supper?" Kennadee asked as she closed up her sketch book. She would tuck this away in her room after supper, but the night before she had seen some nice crackles in the fireplace she had wanted to draw, but just didn't have time.

"Sounds like a plan." Cass says, pushing the rack of training swords back into the weapon shed. Once it was settled, she locks the door up again before straightening up. It was probably about time they got supper. Gale would probably be back in the barracks by now, so she figured that it wouldn't be too hard to find him. And then they could figure out supper from there, whether that mean going to a tavern, or she could head out with a crossbow and a few bolts and see if she could find a deer or something. Roasted venison with some vegetables would feed them all easily. But it would be time consuming to hunt, skin and prepare the meat.

Kennadee tucked her sketch book into her bag and headed back to the barracks with Cass. Her nerves were spiking a bit more now that the first tournament was just a few hours away. When they got back to the barracks, they met Gale. "Hey, Gale" Kennadee said as she sat down in one of the arm chairs. "How was your day?" She asked pulling out her sketch book as the fire was going and there was just the right amount of crackling for her to begin a sketch of it. Of course, Kennadee always paid attention to whoever was talking when talking to someone.

"I'm going to head out and see what I can catch. Dusk is the perfect time for deer." Cass says, trading her sword for her crossbow and a quiver of bolts. If she could get a deer, then she could roast that over the fire with some potatoes and carrots and they'd have a good meal with leftovers to boot. "It's gone well. Got some training in. How about you?" Gale asks.

Kennadee puts her ink pen down for a moment. "It went pretty well" She said. "I did some extra mounted archery training with Shadow before lunch, and then after lunch I worked with Glimmer for about two and a half hours" Kennadee said. "Then, I watched Cass work with some young knights in training and did some sketching on my sketch pad." She said, as she continued to sketch out the fire that was crackling in the fire place.

"Certainly sounds like you had a productive day." Gale says. He could hear the door shutting, suggesting that Cass had just left to go and see what all she could catch. Hopefully she'd be able to find a deer. Though he knew it would be a while before she got back. Hunting took time, and afterwards she would have to skin the deer and prepare the meat so that it could safely be cooked. He could tend to the fire until she got back, to be sure that as soon as she did, they could begin to cook. The vegetables would need to be prepared as well.
