The Tournament of Blades (Private rp with Abbster)

Kennadee spent quite a few hours working on her archery. After a while, she realized that it was almost lunch time. "I should bring Shadow back into his stall to give him a bat of hay for his lunch" Kennadee said, putting her bow over her shoulder. "Hey, do you want to catch us something to eat?" She asked. "Or shall we see if Gale wants to head into town for some lunch?" Kennadee asked.

(also, when Cass says Kennadee's name, she can call her Kenn)

(Sounds good.)

"It probably wouldn't hurt to head into town. Hunting takes time, as does cleaning and preparing the meat for safe consumption. And it's already getting a bit late in the afternoon. There's a nice tavern in town. We can probably fund Gale and then swing round there." Cass says. It was a rather cool day. A hot, hearty bowl of stew sounded pretty good. And she knew that tavern had a good venison stew. She and Gale would go there on occasion.

"Perfect" Kennadee said. "Let me just head back to the barracks real quick and grab some money" Kennadee said as she and Cass began walking back to the barracks. When they got there, Kennadee hung up her bow and arrow on her hook and then went up to her room to get some money for lunch. She went back downstairs a few seconds later after she had taken her hair out of its pony tail. She liked to have her hair flow freely sometimes

"You can if you wish to, however I wouldn't mind covering the tab." Cass says. She would go ahead and get Gale while Kenn got her money. She would probably be paying for both hers and Gale's meal either way. One more would hardly be an issue. She didn't have to stop by her room since she already hadher coin purse on her person from purchasing the eggs for breakfast earlier. And she kept her hair cut rather short, so it was easier to maintain when on the move.

Kennadee joined Cass a few seconds later. “Ready?” She asked, as Gale joined them. “Hey” she said to Gale. “Cass and I just finished up some early morning training.” She said. “But now, I’m starving. Let’s head out for lunch” Kennadee said as the three headed into town for lunch.

Isabelle smiled at her sister. The two were currently on a trail ride in the woods. “This is nice, Charlotte.” Isabelle said. Charlotte smiled. “I agree.” She said.

Cass opens the door to the tavern once they reach, so that Kenn and Gale could step inside. The worse of the lunch rush was over, so it would be easy enough for them to get a table. Once they were both inside, she steps inside as well, shutting the door behind herself. It would be nice to get a hot meal after a busy morning of training.

Kennadee smiled as a waiter led them to a seat. “Let’s see what shall I get today” Kennadee said, as she looked over a menu. “Oh, some tomato soup sounds good.” Kennadee said. “With a loaf of bread, oh yea.” She said, as she looked over the menu some more. She nodded to herself. “Alright, I know what I’m getting” she said, laughing. “What about you two?” She asked as another waiter came over and poured them some water.

"Probably a bowl of venison stew." Cass says, glancing at the menu. She'd probably get a tankard of ale to go with it. "I'll probably go with the same thing" Gale says. Between a bowl of soup each and the loaf of break split amongst the three of them, there would be plenty of food for each of them. With all the preparation for the upcoming tournament, it was especially important to ensure that everyone was getting enough to eat, so that they had the energy and strength needed to perform well in the tournament. This tavern was always a nice place to be able to stop for a bite to eat when one had a lot to do or wasn't in the mood to cook.

When the three ordered their food, Kennadee began to make conversation. “So, what are you guys planning on doing in the tournament first?” She asked. Kennadee herself was planning on doing some mounted archery on Shadow. She had also signed up for a jousting match, and a few other things as well. Of course she wasn’t totally sure as to if any of this would happen, but it never hurt to sign up for things.

"Fencing... and likely jousting." Cass says, picking up her goblet of water. She could use a bow in a pinch, but she had always favored melee weapons rather than fighting from a distance. Her sword was her primary weapon, but she had enough familiarity with lances to be comfortable with jousting. And she knew that she could trust Bayberry to remain calm during the event. When she had been training him to be a proper war horse, she had gotten him used to being around heavy weaponry. A war horse that spooked at the sight of a blade wouldn't perform well. "I'm still looking into a second event, but probably archery." Gale says.

"Archery is always fun" Kennadee said, as their food arrived. She took another sip of her water and then grabbed one of the things of bread. Breaking it up so she could dunk it into her soup. When the soup was cooled down, Kennadee took a bite and she smiled. "oh this is good" She said, as she continued to eat. Kennadee's soup was still quite hot, so she took another sip of her water as she and then she blew on her soup to help it cool down some more.

"This place always does a good job with their food." Cass says, breaking off a piece of her bread to dip into her stew. She had always enjoyed their venison stew. She would say it reminded her of fond childhood memories, but that would be a lie. It just reminded her of the better days at the orphanage, when the hunters would actually come back with something and they would actually get a meal that tasted like something instead of that gruel they had most days because it was cheap and easy to make for all the kids. The days they had an actual stew or roast had been so much better.

Kennadee laughed a little bit. "Thats true" She said, as she continued eating. When she finished eating, she grabbed her water and took another sip, and then she drank the rest of it. After she was finished, she picked up her book and began reading as she waited for Cass and Gale to finish up eating their lunch. "What type of training are you two going to do this afternoon?" She asked, as she closed her book

"I'll be heading down to use the targets to practice my aim. Got to make sure it's sharp for the tournament." Gale says, taking a sip of his water. "I've got a couple of errands I have to run this afternoon, so I got most of my training done this morning." Cass says. She had to go ahead and pick up a new lance for the jousting competition. Finding a good one could take time. She wanted to be sure that she found one was that was of a high quality without having to pay an arm and a leg for it. Her old lance had lasted several years, but it was time to retire it for a new one.

"I was thinking about doing a mounted archery lesson with Shadow if you want to watch when you're done with your errands, Cass" Kennadee said as she paid for her meal, waiting for her two new friends to finish up before they headed back. "I'll see you later, Cass, and if you want, feel free to stop by and watch me with Shadow later" She said. "Although, I haven't done it in a while, so I may be a bit rusty." She said, laughing
