Lockian bowed quickly to the lord before they left. He was glad that work would release him for the day and he could help in the search... and bring the wrong doing to justice, hopefully. Once they had gone a little ways down the hall Lockian looked back at Cassidy, ''outside her window im assuming,'' he asked. That was probably where they could get the best lead on the kidnapper and Sylvia, if the tracks were still visible.

"That would be the best place to start... if he managed to squeeze out the window with her then he had to have left tracks outside in the snow. Provided there hasn't been another snowfall since he made a break for it with her then we should be able to see what direction they were heading in." Cassidy says, adjusting her scabbard slightly to ensure that her sword was as readily accessible as possible in the event that they ran into trouble.

They were lucky then that it hadn't snowed as Lockian had noticed when he went to feed the horses earlier that morning, but they may have gotten obscured by others who obliviously walked over the place without even knowing that they were ruining the tracks, there were after all a large amount of soldiers and servants at the castle, and it was already later morning.

As they reached the window, Cassidy kneels down in the snow to take a look at the tracks in the snow. "There's multiple sets... other people have probably been in the area since whomever took her made a break for it" she mutters. They would probably have to pick a set to start and see where following it took them. If the first set proved to be fruitless, they could always double back and follow a different set.

As Lockian approached he could already see that the snow was quite obscured in the area, or all around really. He looked down at the numerous tracks littering the snow. ''I suppose the ones that are leading away would be the best place to start,'' he said guessing at what the plan was going to be. ''Wish we thought of this earlier,'' he murmured as he examined the tracks, carefully not to spoil any of them. The smaller ones could already be ruled out as they both knew that the footprint was of a large size, ''well, you pick first,'' he said with a shrug.

"Well... many of these trails are leading deeper into the city. Our best best might be the one heading into the forest. I can't imagine someone who just committed a serious crime would wish to head into the thick of the city where they're more likely to be caught." Cass says, straightening up again. A few of the sets were heading towards the woods, but only one set of them was big enough to belong to their suspect, not to mention one of the sets seemed to belong to an animal rather than a person.

“Not can I,” Lockian responded, their were those strange cases when a criminal would go into the most people infested areas to obscure his trail, but Lockian didn’t think that the one they were after would do such a thing. It would after all be difficult to hide a young girl in the city especially if Sylvia put up any fight, which Lockian doubted.

"Hopefully whomever took her, they didn't get too far." Cass says. This was proving to be quite a day, and there was no doubt in her mind that it was only going to get more chaotic from here. But as long as Sylvia was returned safely to the castle, to her father then all would hopefully be well.

“Aye,” Lockian answered, though he doubted that the man was close by since the tracks were frozen over and stiff, whereas the fresher ones were still powdery from the freshly disturbed snow. “Do you think we should get a couple of horses to make the journey easier,” he asked. It would definitely make traveling faster but then again there was the difficulty of getting through narrower places, and stealth was also hard to achieve when on a horse.

"That probably would help us cover more ground... and if we really need to get into a smaller place, we can always dismount and tether the horses to a tree until we get back." Cass says. Phantom was fit to ride, so that was one horse they could take. She didn't yet have a horse of her own, and now wasn't quite the right time to enquire about the blood bay stallion. Not that he would ready to ride anyway. She could probably fine another horse to borrow.

“Sounds like a plan,” Lockian said nodding. Quickly he walked back to the stables and started saddling Phantom, it had been a while since the horse had some exercise so hopefully he would be cooperative. Lockian hefted a saddle to his back and slipped on a bridle.

As Lockian set about getting Phantom ready to ride, Cass makes her way over to one of the stable boys to enquire about a horse. She'd ask Lord Addaway about the blood bay stallion another day, but for now she just needed a horse that she could take out to search for Sylvia. The stable boy points her towards a black gelding in one of the stalls. She nods slightly, making her way over to the horse with a saddle and bridle in hand. Opening up the stall door, she leads the horse out and slips the bridle onto his head.

As Lockian started leading Phantom out of the stables he noticed that Cassidy got her pale a horse as well. Once he past the barn door he swung easily into the saddle and took the reins in his hands. Under different circumstances this would have actually been a pleasant ride. There wasn’t much he had done lately that was just for the fun of it. But this wasn’t a pleasure ride, they had business to attend to. When Cassidy came up he kicked his horse into a good canter that would bring them the forest quickly.

Once she had the horse saddled, Cass sticks her foot in the stirrup and hoists herself up into the saddle. Now that she was in the saddle, she turns the gelding to line him up with Lockian and Phantom before kicking him into a canter as well. "Hopefully they haven't gotten far" she mutters.

''They couldn't be too far, even if both were on the horse it would be slow going, as it will be for us once we reach the denser portion of the forest. But I would doubt we would find them very soon, they did get a good head start,'' he said remembering how old the tracks which they had assumed were the kidnapper's appeared. He leaned forward slightly to push Phantom a little faster.
