Characters: Ricardo, Romina
To Begin...
Once upon a time, not very long ago, and not very far ago, there lived a most average looking toad named Ricardo. He was an advert toad, with about one hundred siblings and his great grandfather was the great grandaddy of all bullfrogs. Now all his life Ricardo was a bit different from the rest of his overgrown family: namely, it wasn't that he had a different amount of brains, for they all had the same size, but he had a rather pitiful amount of brawn. Every year for three years running he would attend the pool tarp meet and mate festival/ceremony, but every year he always ended up as a groomstoad, and you know the saying: three times a groomstoad, never a grandaddy bullfrog.
Therefore, he was determined to find himself a romantic love interest, for although being a groomstoad really was a lot of fun, it wasn't quite the same as being the one to get wedded and smash fly into your beloved's face. This year was no different, for he had already been groomstoad for already thirty three ceremonies in the last thirty minutes! And so, after eating his thirty third huge helping of smashed flies, he found himself a nice little spot not to close to the edge but not too much near the center and started serenading for to find the love of his life. The party was getting quite wild and even some of the detested frogs started joining, trashing the place with their huge webbed feet and completely tasteless musical talent.
He and some random, ugly tree frog who absolutely did not stick out of the surroundings at all were just having a croak off on who went louder when Ricardo's friend and probably brother hopped by with his newly betrothed toady-bride. ''Hello,'' the lucky croaked loudly, ''we've been looking for you for the last five seconds hoping you could be my groomstoad. Quite the party isn't it,'' he asked hopping off without waiting for an answer. Ricardo did a loud burping sighing his frustration of not finding a love interest when his eyes spied quite the spectacle. She was the most beautiful thing he had ever seen, her bulbous eyes glittering an algae green in the moonlight and her utterly unwarty skin completely captivated his green heart.
Ricardo was hit by feeling of infatuation of this beautiful creature, and when she caught a gnat out of thin air and licked her eye in the most attractive way, he simply melted to bits. The toad knew that toads and frogs could never be together, it just wasn't done, but this siren simply enthralled him, he hopped towards her. "Goodnight, young and slickish maggot guzzler.", he croaked in his absolutely deepest croak, trying to make himself look as pudgy as his thin form would allow and opening his mouth very wide in his most attractive grin that he had practiced threehundredandthirtythree times during the last three years.
The frog battered her eyelashless eyes and smiled widely, ''your quite the maggot guzzler yourself,'' she answered, ''im Romina,'' she said placing her webbed feet beneath her in perfect frog fashion. "My name is Ricardo.", said Ricardo, totally awestruck by the glorious fashion of her name and forever linking it to the feeling of insatiable love. She closed her eyes, what a name, she thought, seeing hearts around the toad opposite her. With another plumply fashioned and well times hop towards her, Ricardo croaked, "Will you love me forever, join me in eating flies, look at shooting bats with me and promise to be my beautiful wife until next mating season?" She looked at him with unhidden love, ''Yes,'' she said easily hopping onto his back. They were about to invite people to their wedding but there was no one left since Ricardo was so slow.
A few days later the had hundreds of little toadpoles swimming together and half of which not having a care in their life because the other half was eaten by monstrous minnows who also eat their own kids. Another few days later Romina was eaten by a chicken. Ricardo was so sad that he wasn't paying attention and a chicken ate him too. The end.
