Nova looked over at Everest with a sad nod. "The female said that her pups were just a month old" Nova replied. "You know there is nothing we can do about it." She added as Sterling was voicing his agreement to North. "Yes. I think that is the best choice here" He said as they began to make their way back to the camp.

Winter looked up as she saw her mate rush into the den. "T...The pack" She stuttered out. "They found us...." Winter muttered

Skylar's eyes widened and his mouth dropped. He knew that the pack would find them eventually, but he wasn't ready for it to be so soon! And of course it had to be the day he went out and left his mate at the den alone. ''What did they do,'' he asked coming up close to his mate, ''what did they say?''

[Abbster]

"T...there was four of them, they came in snarling and growling." Winter said, as her eyes were glazed with fear. "They said we were trespassing and we had to leave." Winter said. "They said we have three days to leave or...or they won't hesitate to kill us" Winter whispered.

Meanwhile, back at the pack...

Nova and the rest of the group rushed into the pack, howling. Griffin looked up from where he was eating a hare. "Nova, what's wrong?" He asked. "We found trespassers." She growled. "A mother and her four pups." Nova said. Griffin's body went still. Oh no....Winter and Skylar. He need to find Hadassa. He nodded as the rest of the wolves darted to the alpha, and then he stood to his paws and sniffed the air. Finding Hadassa's scent, he went racing after it. It didn't take him long to find her. "HADASSA!" He said when he reached her.

Skylar's eyebrows drew together with thought. What were they going to do? The pups were way too young to travel. He let out a small snarl at thought thought of four wolves terrorizing his mate like that, ''I wish I was here when they came,'' he said with a growl in his voice, ''they would have payed dearly for the way they treated you and our pups. He sat right up against her in attempt to soothe her, he could tell her nerves were still high strung. He comforted his mate in the best ways he knew, he would not discuss the matter until he saw that his mate felt safe again.

Everest and North ran howling in with the rest of the patrol group, they were quite excited about their find and could not wait to tell their Alpha. Hadassa was sunning on a rock, resting from a long scouting venture. Her ears pricked at the sound of someone calling her. She lifted her head and saw Griffin running towards her. ''Griffin,'' he said leaping to her feet, ''whats going on?'' She could that something was wrong.

Griffin skidded to a stop. "I just heard....the morning patrol found trespassers, a mother wolf and her four pups...the only mother wolf we know that lives on our territory is Winter.....Hadassa...they found Winter and Skylar." He said. "We need to make sure they didn't do anything to them" He said to her, dancing nervously on his paws.

Winter looked at her mate. "you couldn't have known." She said as her trembling eased and the pups began to crawl out from under her belly. "I'm sure it'll be ok.." she said, breaking off a little bit.

Storm was just leaving the off duty den when the morning's patrol returning howling. "Woah" Storm said. "Slow down" he said as they all ran up to him. "What's going on?" he asked....well that was stupid as all four dogs began speaking at once. "Ok. One at a time, North, what happened?" He asked

Hadassa inhaled quickly. What! No! They couldn't have,'' she said nervously, but she knew it was true and she knew that it was going to happen eventually. ''Yes, let's go,'' she said shooting off into the forest without even thinking about telling their Alpha they were leaving in her haste to make sure their friends were all right.

Skylar also relaxed when he noticed his mate calm down, ''what do you think we should do? Do you think we should try going away?'' He looked down at his pups and at their tiny and still weak paws, how would they ever survive a journey?

North straightened when the Alpha addressed him, he had a rather sheepish expression as as to being so foolish by trying to speak over his pack mates. ''Well Alpha,'' he began, ''we were out on patrol around the borders of our territory and scented some wolves. We found the den soon after and lo and behold there was a female and four pups in there. We told her that if she doesn't leave in three days we will come back and kill all of them.'' He stepped back and waited to see what the Alpha would say.

Griffin nodded and he took off after Hadassa. Scenting the air for any sign of Winter and Skylar. "I can't find their scent." He said. "Can you?" Griffin asked.

Winter looked at her mate. "what? no!" She said. "They can't even talk, let alone walk very well. It would kill them. There's so many predators out there for tiny pups like them" Winter said. "Hawks, cougars, bears, and worst of all...humans." Winter said with a shudder. "We can't risk it. Besides, how would we even carry all four of them?" She asked.

Storm's tail flicked a bit. "A female and her four pups you say?" Storm asked. Nova nodded. "Did you see any mate around?" He asked. Nova scuffled her paws. "well the female said that she and her mate needed some time to leave.." She said. "Now let me get this right. You found a mother and four pups, and you threated to kill them if they don't leave?" Storm asked. Sterling nodded. "yes, sir" he said. "Was that not right?" he asked. "No, that was perfectly fine." Storm said, as he thought for a moment. "I want you four to patrol there again later this evening, if they are still in that den you speak of, I will take a few wolves with me and I will talk to them myself." He said. "If by this point they are still unwilling to leave, I will talk it over with Hercules and see what he thinks of this." Storm says.

Hadassa raised her nose to the air and tested it... ''nothing yet,'' she responded to Griffin, ''but I think we should check their den, they couldn't have up and left that quickly... right?'' she asked.

''I know my dear,'' Skylar answered, ''but apparently if we stay here they will get killed as well,'' he said shaking his head. He looked up at the mention of humans, ''I suppose anything is better than humans,'' he conceded to his mate. Just the thought of them made the hair at the back of his neck stand on edge. ''You're right, traveling is out of the question for right now. But I just dont know what else to do.''

North and Everest thought they're Alpha's plan wise and nodded, ''yes, Alpha,'' they both said. ''Do you have any more orders for us now,'' North inquired.

[Abbster]

Griffin nodded “unlikely they left” he said as they reached towards the den. Finally, the scent of their two friends wafted over Griffins scent glands. Griffin slowed when they reached the den and he pushed his way in with Hadassa.

Winter nodded. “I know, we just have to hope they..” she broke off as two wolves walked into the den. Winter jumped and then relaxed as she saw Griffin and Hadassa.

Storm shook his head. “No, that will be all for now. Go get some prey.” He advised

Hadassa nodded. Soon the two of them reached the den, “we heard what happened,” she said quickly upon seeing Skylar and Winter, “I hope you both are alright. I’m so sorry this happened.”

Skylar came alert suddenly when he heard the wolves walk in but calmed when he saw it was only their scout friends, “it wasn’t your fault,” he responded, “my mate and I were just discussing what to do next. Any suggestions?”

Everest and Noth nodded before loping away.

Griffin thought for a second. “The only option is that we help you leave. But your pups are in no stage to leave right now.” He said to the two wolves.

Winter nodded her agreement as she pulled the pups close to her with her tail. Her belly was their safe spot right now, so she just kept them close to her side.

Storm blades to the scouts and he turned to pad into the off duty den. “Sorry my love” Storm said as he lay down beside his mate.

Skylar nodded, ''our thoughts exactly,'' he said looking back at them sadly, ''but your pack said that they would kill us anyway if they found us... maybe we should hide somewhere in the forest until this whole thing blows over,'' he suggested looking at his mate. Hadassa thought for a moment, cocking her head, the plan might work, she thought, but it was up to the mate, she was the mother after all.

Etain smiled as her mate walked in, ''that is alright,'' she said quietly, ''you have a big responsibility,'' she smiled. Arling pounced about the den and then ran up to Rain, ''hey Rain,'' he said, ''wanna play a joke on father?''

Rain looked up at her brother. "No" She said. "That doesn't seem right, dada has a big responsibility, and you know that mommy would never approve of it" Rain pointed out as her father licked their mothers head. Storm smiled. "Well, you always understand" He said, as he licked his mates head.

Winter thought for a moment. "Couldn't they just track our scent though?" She asked with worry

Arling flattened his ears, “your right I guess,” he said looking wistfully at his father. A sly slime crossed his face and he pounced on his sister rolling around in an effort to get her to wrestle him, “bet I’m stronger than you,” he teased playfully. Etain nuzzled her mate back, “is everything alright, there seemed to have been quite the commotion a few moments ago.”

Skylar sighed, “your right Winter, I hadn’t even thought about that. I’m so on edge that I’m not even thinking straight. Maybe we will just have to stay here, and perhaps talk with the Alpha when the time comes, tell him to allow us to stay just until the pups get old enough to travel,” he suggested.

Winter nodded her agreement. "Would he be willing?" She asked Griffin and Hadassa. Griffin thought for a moment. "That depends..." He said. "You'll need to convince him first" He added.

Storm sighed. "The morning patrol found a mother and her four pups on our territory" He said. "Apparently, they've given her and her mate three days to leave." Storm added, lowering his voice. "before they kill him" He whispered
