Welcome to Aquaria!

The underwater city of Aquaria is located in the Pacific Ocean in a tropical region known as The Coral Cay. Aquaria is no stranger to battle and war as many merpeople wish to take over the kingdom as their own. But the Royal Family of Aquaria wish to protect all those and the kingdom as much as they can. But unbeknownst, a sea witch has infiltrated the kingdom as a spy for another kingdom who wishes to take over Aquaria. Queen Kehlani already knows that a spy is amongst the merpeople. But she does not know who it is. She is already having enough with her daughter coming of age to be the next Queen. Princess Sirena's training must be started as soon as she turns 18. Can Queen Kehlani help begin Sirena's training while keeping Aquaria safe?

Name: Princess Sirena

Personality: Sirena can be shy sometimes when it comes to new people. But when she gets to know a person, she can blossom out. It just depends on the person that she is with. Sirena can be sweet and caring to the people of Aquaria as her first duty is to that of her people. She also loves sea horses as they are her favorite animal in the entire ocean. She dreams of one day traveling the ocean and seeing all the different Mer-Kingdoms around the world and meet the people of those kingdoms.
History (Optional): Princess Sirena was born to Queen Kehlani and her father King Caspian. But when she was just a few months old, King Caspian died of an unknown sickness at the time, leaving Queen Kehlani in charge of the kingdom. Even though her mother was busy ruling Aquaria, she tried to keep as much of a relationship with her mother that she can.

Gender: Male, He/Him
Personality: Rahiri is on the quieter side, he says very little and it's not exactly easy to read his body language either. Still there is something about his energy that makes other's trust him. Which is good since as a guard that is his job to provide a sense of security. On the other hand since he can be hard to read, doesn't offer up his opinions too often, and is typically larger than most other merpeople Rahiri can easily intimidate others. This intimidation can turn into dislike with some people though he sees no reason to change who he is just to please others. Yet he can be such fun to be around if he considers you part of his family, still that is a small selection of people and it takes time to actually get close to him. 
History: Rahiri doesn't share a lot about himself. As far as most people know he came from outside the kingdom from a smaller group; The true origins of the group are unknown as he doesn't share much beyond the basics though its typically rumored it was a warlike, nomadic band(Which is false, he simply came from a smaller unconnected group who where more traders than anything). Regardless of that he was brought on as a guard at 18 not longer after he showed up and through the past five years has risen considerably amongst the ranks.

Name: Catalina

Nickname: Kat

Age: 21

Gender: Female

Personality: Kat can be a bit rough around the edges. She doesn't sugarcoat anything and that can make her come across harsh at times. She isn't the warmest individual under normal circumstances and values her privacy. She isn't an open book by any means. But as a guard, she looks out for everyone's safety, never hesitating to put her own safety on the line. Though she doesn't always have the most obvious way of showing it, she does care about the safety of those around her. For those who have gotten to know her, they might see a different side of her from the steely faced guard that most know her as. She is protective and supportive of those she cares deeply about. Her sense of humor can be somewhat dry and oftentimes sarcastic. 

History: Catalina's mother abandoned her at a very young age, so she doesn't remember her well. Instead she was raised by her adoptive father whom was formerly a guard alongside her adoptive brother Aegir.  He taught her from a young age to focus on the hear and now. Though it can be hard to see, she is quite close with her father. It was because of him she worked to become a guard as well. His encouragement and tutelage gave her the courage to apply for the royal guard alongside her adoptive brother.

Personality: Aegir is generally quiet and reserved, with a strong sense of duty.  As a guard, he has strong observation skills, and is usually more likely to be suspicious of those, that he doesn't know.  He has a warmer and friendlier personality with those who are in his inner circle, whether they are family or close friends.  He isn't shy, but he is usually very serious.  When he is off duty, he is usually more extroverted, and much more likely to joke around.  He has a soft spot for girls, and other ocean animals.  He has a bit of a negative reputation for some, because he hangs out with sharks, and has one as a pet.  He doesn't really care that much for traveling, or meeting those, in other kingdoms, unless he absolutely has to.

History (Optional): Aegir was born and raised in the city of Aquaria, for his entire life.  He is the oldest son of Cain, one of the former guards of the royal palace.  While he was growing up, he wanted to follow in his father, into becoming a guard.  He grew up with Catalina, his adoptive sister, who came into his family at a young age.  He became a royal guard before his father eventually retired, and before his adoptive sister, made the same decision to become a member of the guards.

Personality: Queen Kehlani is a strong figure for the people of Aquaria to look up to. There are times that she wonders if she is doing the right thing for her people. She can sometimes be strict when it comes to her daughter and her protection since she is beginning her training to become Queen. Kehlani would do anything for her people and her daughter, Sirena.
History (Optional): Queen Kehlani was born to King Amaris and Queen Coralia. She was the oldest daughter and thus heir to the thrown. When she was 16 years old, Kehlani met her soon to be husband, Caspian when he was just a guard for her father. At first, the two did not get along, but it was not until Caspian saved her from a Great White Shark did she start having feelings for Caspian. It was soon decided that Kehlani would marry Caspian once her training to become the next Queen was completed. She took over the rule of Aquatica once her father passed of old age. At first, she was nervous, but she had Caspian by her side to help her out. A few years later, Caspian and Kehlani welcomed their first child, a girl named Sirena. Then one day, Caspian became sick. She tried everything she could to heal him. But nothing worked. His death took her hard, but she knew that she needed to be strong for their daughter.

Name: Lady Darya

Gender: Female, she/her
Personality: Darya is an extremely passionate, bordering on volatile person. Though it is clear she cares so deeply about her family and dotes on her only niece, Princess Sirena. Yet for as much emotion she expresses it seems almost challenging to read her true thoughts. Despite that she is one of the Queen's most trusted advisors and would protect her niece with her very life if she had to. Darya is not the biggest fan of some of the guards and other palace staff, particularly those with stronger personalities as they clash with her own. 
History: Darya was born along with her twin brother Caspian to parents who were royal ambassadors from a neighboring kingdom. When they were 5 her parents were assigned to Aquaria to promote trade and peace. The two then spent the rest of their childhood amongst the other highborn and wealth citizens. At 18 she was granted a position as a lady-in-waiting to then Queen Coralia while her brother was made a palace guard. It was then that her brother met Kehlani who he would later wed. When her brother became king Darya was promoted to advisor instead of continuing working for the now Dowager-Queen Coralia. She was kept on as an advisor after the death of her brother.
