Crash Landing - Private with Alaska

Our two characters are the only survivors after a plane crash. Stranded out in the wilderness they need to figure out how to survive. This could be romance but I would like to reserve romance until after they are rescued as surprise it turns out they live in the same city. For this I would like our characters to be better prepared than your average office worker but not Bear Grylls level. It would be good to try and use skills/abilities that build off backstories or career paths. 


Character form - Doesn't have to be followed but this is the rough idea that I have for it. I would like all public information though as it is the basics. The italics can be deleted on the form, they are just there to give ideas or explain why they are in that section.

Personality: Avalynn loves aviation and always has since she was a little girl. She can be a caring person that will do anything to make sure that that her passengers are safe. She may look beautiful, but don't get on her bad side as she is trained in self-defense and is a black belt when it comes to martial arts. Her mother insisted that she take classes, even though her father, also a pilot, says she can take care of herself. Avalynn loves horses and has a horse of her own back home.

Backstory: Avalynn was born in Seattle, Washington to Laura (Lawyer) and Aiden Williams (Capitan for the United Airlines). She has one older brotheR named Eric. Her father was a big inspiration into her interest in aviation. She is so much like her father that she terms herself a "Daddies Girl" because she did everything with him. Avalynn decided when she was 6 years old that she too wanted to be a pilot. She went to high school in Seattle and graduated with honors. She attended flight school when she was 16 years old and got her license as a private pilot after a few years going to school. Then after high school, Avalynn attended ATP Flight School in Everette, Washington gaining her Airline Transport License so that she could become a pilot for an airline. She has been flying for a few years now and is excited about becoming a captain once she gains the hours of flight time to become one.

Nicknames: Henry - this is just used by his fellow coast guard members so not applicable in day to day life

1. Backpack - He had brought a backpack as his carry on bag, unfortunately it was left unzipped so most of the items fell out during the crash.
2. Water bottle - The heavy metal bottle had been filled up at the airport so there is a limited amount of for sure safe drinking water.
3. Hoodie - He packed it just case he got cold in the airport with the air conditioning, it was shoved in the bottom of his bag.

Appearance: 5'9, pretty fit and a lean/muscular build. He does have a pretty decent appalachian accent, though it has softened over the years away (Here are a few different people from the region talking to get a bit of an idea).
Injuries: Dislocated shoulder(right) & concussion 

Personality: Tyler is a very friendly person, always willing to chat with someone if they start up a conversation. He is one of those rare people who doesn't mind group work/projects, having grown up in a large family where everyone had to work together. There is a good chance he would become one of those people who get taken advantage of as he tries to give everyone the benefit of the doubt, luckily since experiencing the wider world he has come to realize not everyone needs a chance. Still he is a very positive person.

- Grew up outside of Welch, WV & probably has siblings
- Joined Coast guard after graduation as they offered him the best option, plus he didn't want to actually be deployed like other branches. Signed the 8 year contract with two separate 4 year active duty contracts(1st one stationed him Virginia & 2nd one stationed him in Florida).
- About 1 year ago moved to Seattle when he re-enlisted. At this time he also started a part-time degree at the university.
