Support Group

Started by a group of therapists for their clients, this support group was founded to help those work through PTSD/other trauma. Meeting at the Park Slope Armory YMCA in Brooklyn, this group is mainly made up of military veterans, first responders, and ER staff. Though this group is open to anyone as all it takes to join is the referral by one of the therapists. After the first meeting it's clear that for many this group will provide the extra support and a chance for connections. 

The Five Therapists - They rotate with one sitting in on the meeting each week just to monitor for major concerns. Their clients are listed after their name.

Appearance: He stands 6'2 and is pretty fit/muscular. His eyes and hair are a dark brown while his skin is just lightly tanned. 

Personality: Dominic comes off as quite gruff, not exactly the most touchy feely type. Yet he does care very deeply about those he has relationships with and shows this through his actions. He is not one to share a whole lot of personal details about himself as he has worked hard to not be defined by his past. Still he is an encouraging person who would like everyone to become their best selves even if that journey ends the relationship.

Amelia "Ami" Yasuda - ex-girlfriend and close friend, just completed residency and a surgical intership, now starting her first year as a full doctor.
Benjamin Bernthal - battle buddy and best friend, he was the one that recommended Dominic to Lauren for his job. He retired around the same time as Dominic and now is staring his own business.
Issac Collingwood - husband, deceased. They were married for six years and together for eight until he was killed last year.
Colette Thibault - Ben's wife and a well respected author not to mention a friend as well. 

Pets: Mako - 10 year old Belgian Malinois - Was one of Issac's partners who they adopted upon his retirement. He mostly just naps now.
Zip - 4 year old Belgian Malinois - Was Issac's most recent partner and was there when he was killed. Dominic adopted her despite her health issues.

Appearance:  Blaire is fairly tall for her age, since she comes from a tall family.  She stands at 5'6.  Since she was always fairly athletic, she has a more athletic and toned build.  She has a light complexion, with short, chin length black hair, that curls in many places.  She has brown eyes, and wears contact lenses, since she hates glasses, which she used to wear in middle school.  She prefers jewelry over makeup and prefers silver jewelry.  She has a chain necklace with a cross pendant and has pierced ears.  She has both her earlobes pierced and helix piercings.  When she wasn't at work, her clothing style consisted of a lot of denim.  She prefers cool colored clothing, over brighter colors.

Personality: Blaire is usually calm and composed, with an eye for small details.  She is patient and attentive to those in need and will often put others before herself.  She is a quiet and introverted person and is fairly private about her life.  She is loyal and genuine, and always wants to look out for the interests of those that she cares about.

- Gabriella Victoria Carter: Blaire's 56 year old mother.  She was a stay at home mother, while her children were growing up, but once they both turned fourteen, she went back to school, and eventually got a job as a medical scribe in a local hospital.  She is a middle child, growing up as the second oldest of four, and the only girl in her family.


- Nicholas Anthony Carter: Blaire's 58 year old father.  He works as an attorney, at a law firm.  He's not really into sports, aside from tennis, which is something that he often watches on tv.


- Joseph Ellis Carter:  Joey is Blaire's twin brother.  He was born about three minutes before she was.  They have always been very close, and were both into sports while growing up.  He lives in a different state from his sister, living with his wife and two children.  He works a trade job as an electrician, while his wife works from home, as a college professor.  His hobbies include rock climbing, cycling, and going to the car racetracks with his friends.  While his sister wears contact lenses, he wears glasses.


- Lucas Anderson: Blaire's childhood friend, whom she's known since she was nine.  They had a shared interest in sports, specifically lacrosse.  They did date briefly, for about two years, before ending things amicably.  They are still very close friends.  He's the same age as Blaire, just three months younger.


- Veronica Mitchell: Blaire's friend from the lacrosse team.  She didn't meet Blaire, until they were both thirteen, where they became very close.  Though she plays lacrosse, she is a bit more feminine than Blaire.  She loves animals, and currently owns a chinchilla.  She's married, but currently has no children.
