Fern prepared her body for the long flight she shot up finding a slow-moving air current she let it speed her path a little bit, she then dived down fully unfolding her wings to allow air to blow around them, she could see some herd pegasi watching her flying alone but they seemed unconcerned with her and let her continue on her flight path, she was trying to fly with a purpose that wouldn't make any of the herd pegasi that had seen her suspicious unfortunately one young stallion took notice, "You there why are you flying alone don't you know it is dangerous flying alone" spoke the stallion as he flew level with her, "I'm just a messenger for the Outlands no need to get so hostile" Fern lied which thankfully worked as the stallion seemed to lose interest in her, "Nice going Fern but you can't keep saying that all the time eventually they will know" she said to herself, as she flew high over the mountain which used to be her home and past some of the smaller herd lands, she was almost to the outlands just a few more minutes in the air.

Ero followed Crow and Grimarya to the portal he waited until Grimarya was sure the portal was ready before he even dared to enter the portal, he could see that Crow seemed distracted was she thinking about Fern who would meet them there, he didn't know much about the tobiano mare other then she could read minds but he was sure Fern could handle herself, "Are you ready Crow because once we enter this portal there is no going back" Ero asked the big black mare who was just hovering in mid-air as if she too was waiting for Grimarya's word that the portal was safe to enter.

Grimarya flared her wings wider and the portal swirled even larger, and she managed a quick glance over at the other pegasi. Crow was in the air... but she seemed very hesitant, Ero beside her, seeming to talk to her. Summoning her concentration and strength she whinnied over to them "It's now or never!" her eyes flashing with impatience.

Crow would enter the portal first followed by Ero and then Grimarya, she made sure to fold her wings in to protect them from the bouncing air currents that were trying to throw her against the sides of the portal, she wasn't sure what Fern was so afraid of traveling by portal it was amazing and made there journey to the Outlands much quicker then flying there, she turned her head to look back at Ero and Grimarya then snapped back forward to keep an eye on the portal exit as it was getting closer, she got ready for the exit her wings half extended then fully extended for the fast approaching exit of the portal, she tried to land gracefully but instead an air current caught her and blew her downwards with tremendous speed, she slammed into the ground with a thud luckily some leaves cushioned her fall so she was okay except for a small wing injury which she quickly healed.

Alto was uncomfortable with the ropes around him as his wings were now aching in pain but if the herd members noticed they didn't seem to care either too busy with other things or patroling the area for threats, "I hope they come soon I don't know how much longer I can stand this" Alto said to himself as he looked around for any sign of his herd mates, the familiar shape of Crow, the towering size of Ero or the fierceness of Grimarya he also was looking for Fern and her beautiful tobiano coat, he would be grateful if they found him sooner rather then later as he was having a hard time trying to keep the pain from the ropes off his mind.

Fern landed not far from Crow her wings folded back "Hey Crow you miss me" Fern said as she watched for Ero and Grimarya to join them, "Hey Fern I was worried you wouldn't make it" Crow said back, they then waited for the others she looked at the ground maybe they could disguise there scent and appearance from the Outlands herd, from what Crow told her some of them were not too observant and wouldn't notice them but she then remembered Ciran the Outlands guard he was far more observant than the other guards he would be tough to fool, as he already had seen Crow so she would be easy to spot as her large size was a big obstacle, but Fern had invisibility on her side so they might not even see her.

Ero exited the portal and landed as quietly as he could "I should have told you, Crow, that the exit is far faster than it looks" Ero said, noticing leaves sticking to Crow's coat the black mare seemed fine "Now you tell me Ero ...that was a rough landing I'm just thankful leaves broke my fall" Crow said, well she removed the leaves from her coat and wings with Fern's help the two mares seemed to get along well considering they were from different herds, he waited for Grimarya with Crow and Fern his tail lashing in impatience he wasn't good at standing still for a long time as he liked to be moving, his large size dwarfed all of his herd mates even Crow looked small next to him as he waited beside the two mares his wings folded neatly.

Grimarya plunged through her portal with a sigh of relief as the other two flew ahead of her, letting it push her forwards, bracing her wings for the exit. With a large thrust she was ejected, and she swiftly pushed herself upwards, looping expertly in the sky and swooping down gently to the others, her hooves brushing the grass tips as she landed without a sound. Glancing at Crow she could see she'd had a harder landing, but that was to be expected with a first time portal traveller. What really surprised her was the fact that Fern was there already. She must have flown extremely fast. "Ok, let's find Alto, and figure out an actual plan" she said firmly, folding her wings over her back and stepping towards the scent of other pegasi.

Crow agreed with Grimarya they needed to find Alto and fast before something bad happened to the spotted stallion "We also need to disguise our apperance they already know what I look like maybe I can stay here if that's okay and stand guard" Crow suggested as she folded her black wings and walked beside Fern to a large area covered in thick mud, it would defintly cover them all in a fine layer of mud if Grimarya and the others wanted to be covered in mud, there was also a lake in the area where they could wash up if needed to get rid of the mud in a hurry, it might not work for Ero as he was taller then any of them and the mud might not reach all the areas it needed to, plus his wings were the largest of them all as it needed to be to give his massive body all the power it needed in flight.

Alto would look around for any of his fellow herdmates but he didn't them yet he knew he just had to be patient but that was hard when ropes were biting into your wing feathers with each minute that went by, Alto would look at Epsilon the stallion seemed distracted "Hey..Alto if that really is your name....I am willing to cut you free but I promise you do not tell Crow why I did it I personally hate holding pegasi captive" Epsilon said as he seized one of the ropes in his mouth his teeth working to snap the ropes on Alto, he nodded at the large black stallion "Thank you Epsilon I won't tell Crow not for all the wild apples in the herdlands" Alto said as he felt one of the ropes snap he could move his wings but not his legs, he then saw a large roan stallion he charged Epsilon then he saw black feathers fill the skies and the crunch of bone followed by a loud cry of pain from the large black stallion "EPSILON NO...please you can't have been this stupid" Umari his mate said as she galloped into view where Epsilon laid*.
*don't worry he isn't dead he just is unconscious*

Fern would look in the directions of the outlands she had hear a cry of pain coming from inside the border she knew it could be Alto but he was tough and the scream sounded a lot like a stallion she didn't know, she looked up at Crow "Who do you think that was that cried out in pain" Fern asked the tall black pegasus mare, she could read sadness in Crow's mind and the name Epsilon, but she wasn't sure why Crow would be thinking of her brother at a time like this, "It was possibly Epsilon my brother it sounds like him I hope they have not hurt him" Crow said as she nervously scraped the ground with one of her hooves as they waited for Ero and Grimarya to walk towards the mud covered area.

Ero would walk over to the mud covered area he noticed how nervous Crow was especialy since they all hear that pained cry, "It will be okay Crow I don't think they will harm your brother at least I think" Ero said as he nuzzled the black pegasus mare, trying to reassure her things would be okay from now on, he had Alto on his mind too he kind of liked the spotted stallion he was brave and knew how to think when it really counted towards protecting the herd, but if Alto was hurt that would not be good as it meant they might not be travelling in the air insted they would be slowly walking through the herdlands till they reached there home.
