name taken from an official TLOU II soundtrack. This is based off of the TLOU games but no knowledge of them is required.In 2003, the world fell apart. A virus known as the Cordyceps Brain Infection (CBI) was unleashed onto the world. It infected millions, the population crumbling. The weak were killed, and the strong survived- that's simply how it went. The Federal Disaster Response Agency took action quickly, creating Quarantine Zones to house the few who survived. 31 years into the apocalypse, in the QZ of Boston, Massachusetts, they found it. They found something that would supposedly act as a cure- killing every spore and every infected within a certain range, and reversing the infection with people who were recently infected. Everyone rejoiced- it could finally be over. A group of 8 or so people is sent out to administer this cure by gas. Will the cure work, fail, or will they die trying to figure it out? Spoiler alert, it works- only to an extent, though. A lot of the infected are killed by this "cure", while others mutate, forming an immunity to it. 11 years after that original trip, the mutated infected are becoming a real issue. Their strength has killed many. Scientists present something that might just solve this problem, and recruit the same group to go administer it. This RP takes place on the first trip, in 2034. Our characters are trusted by FEDRA; whether it be for navigation skills, experience as a soldier, or other reasons. They've met once before the RP begins, which is the morning of the trip. If the RP lasts until the end of the trip, we'll end up timeskipping to 11 years later, on the second trip. This RP is meant to be slow-paced but action-packed, with the threat of other groups and infected always looming over their heads. ROLEPLAY GUIDELINES Please read through all of these.
- Follow all forum rules.
- Replies must be 5 or more sentences long (1 paragraph). It’s preferred that you have two paragraphs at the least, but sometimes that isn’t possible.
- Keep things PG-13; no NSFW acts, extreme gore, etc. If you wouldn't let your mom read it, don't post it.
- Allowed weapons include: bows, crossbows, melee weapons such as bats, etc. Minimal firearms due to how gory they are; if your character has one please make them have a reason.
- Please only join if you'll be active.
- The allowed animals include: horses, donkeys, mules (transportation), dogs (detecting infected and other people, protection, possibly hunting), two falcons (detecting infected and other people). If you do include an animal other than these, ask me first, or else your character will be denied.
- Companions, if included, must have a temperament that is suited to the environment they’re travelling through. EX; wouldn’t go wild at the sight of infected, spook with no reason.
- Communicate with the rest of the group.
- Characters must be realistic; they need to have flaws and cannot have a perfect appearance.
- No characters from TLOU or other media. I will absolutely be checking due to a past incident.
- Age range for characters is 20-45.
- I reserve the right to deny your character.
- If additional roles are added, the group will max out at 10 people, unless everyone agrees that more would make sense.

Quoted from the TLOU WIKI: The fungus infects the human brain, growing mycelium inside the brain tissue and killing the brain's cells. This erases memories and drives the host insane, modifying their instincts to seek no goal other than spreading the spores to others.
The infection spreads through bites from a host, inhalation of spores, and open wounds or eyes coming into contact with spores. The infected have a number of forms that they progress through. - Runners. People who have recently been infected become Runners. They're often found hunched over whimpering, and scream when they come into contact with something. Runners will grab and try to bite people but are easy to shake off, unlike Clickers.
- Stalkers. They have the vision and speed of Runners and the ferocity of Clickers. After anywhere from a week to a month of infection, bits of fungus begin to erupt from the head, and they often begin to go blind. They start to figure out echolocation. Stalkers take advantage of their environment and will hide and "stalk" a select victim until they have the opportunity to attack, hence their name.

THE ROUTE STARTING POINT: Boston, Massachusetts. They don’t administer the cure through the state, but dispose of any infected they see. We’ll most likely TS this after a bit of the characters getting to know each other, setting the tune for the rest of the trip and establishing initial relationships. - Albany, New York. Almost 2 days from Boston. A city riddled with infected, with the majority of them being runners and stalkers, with the occasional clicker or bloater.

As a group we'll decide which stops are worth it, and which ones aren't. ROLESMax 4 people per gender to ensure it’s semi-even, and a max 2 falcons. If you were in the original RP on HR (Where The Sun Goes Down) you get priority spots. Additional roles (that make sense within the RP) might be added upon request. Your character does not have to fully match the description listed. However, make sure their skillset lines up at least somewhat with their role, and doesn’t blend too much into other roles without proper explanation. SCIENTISTS 0/3 : The scientists are more likely to know each other from before the trip. They helped develop the Cordyceps cure and volunteered to administer it. Their skills in combat vary. - - - FEDRA SOLDIERS 0/3 : Soldiers can do a variety of things, often specialising in one field (special weaponry, K-9, etc). He keeps his cool in chaotic or messy situations and handles swiftly and decisively, which sometimes are some odd things. He knows his boundaries and respects others, but still isn’t afraid to push people to go ever further. Izzy is shy and laidback when first meeting, but when he warms up he’s a loving and adventurous person who’s always in for a chat. Izzy likes to do things on his own and is quite a lone wolf, which might make him stubborn when it comes to offering him some help. Freddie is a calm and chill person who loves nature. Background: Izzy grew up in Boston QZ and lived in a small house at the edge of the zone with his parents and a small pitbull called Grizzly. When he hit the age of 14, his mother disappeared after a small run for supplies, but was later found murdered at the side of the wall. This hit him like a brick as he was left alone with just his dad, whom he had arguments with from time to time. To distract himself from the things happening around him, he started training in combat, with a crossbow, bow and old sword. He wasn’t the best at it, except from stealth attacks, and decided to learn a second thing, Medical care. He quickly learned nature’s healing techniques and how to take care of himself. Sneaking out off the walls became a weekly trip as he studied the infected and learned their ways. He eventually also got in contact with FEDRA, as he was always watching them from alleys or balcony’s, and got asked if he wanted to learn more. After he agreed to their lessons, he got trained and teached by Geralt, a FEDRA soldier, and learned even more skills and tricks with health care. Full Name: Cassia Winston Nickname(s): Cass, Cassie Age: 28 Gender: Female Role: FEDRA Soldier Backup Role: Scientist Date Of Birth: Aug. 21 Personality: A hardened woman with a specialty for irritating colleagues she doesn't like. Cassia is cold towards most people and makes an effort to not get close to anyone, but mostly fails. Her ways of showing affection are odd and mostly contain insults. There's not a fully nice bone in her body. Cassia's got some sort of moral code, but nobody can really point out what it is. She's not very good at talking her way out of things and usually leaves that to the others in the group, due to past experiences of trying to talk and failing miserably. Likes: Non-annoying people, her weapons, being in control of a fight, dogs, stray cats. Dislikes: Losing control of a fight, stalkers, bloaters, kids. Fears: Heights, being bitten, shamblers, small dogs. Appearance: Cassia is a tall woman standing at just around 6'0, and she's built like a linebacker, all muscle. Her black hair is kept short and currently hangs just above her shoulders, often pulled back and out of her face. She's got dark brown eyes, her pupils almost swallowed by the colour. There's a scar, jagged and deep, running down her left cheek. It's old, but the gouges are still very noticeable in the right light. Other scars litter her body from incidents, work-related or not. Her issued uniform consists of any short sleeved shirt, under a FEDRA jacket and a bulletproof vest, paired with dark blue cargo pants that match the FEDRA jacket. She was also issued a gas mask. She will most likely be in uniform a majority of the trip. If not, she'll at least have the vest on. Cassia can be seen wearing worn ankle boots a majority of the trip. Bodily Modifications: She has a spider on her inner right elbow, done by a friend using a stick-n-poke method. It's old enough that the ink is going green. Her earlobes are pierced and usually have simple black studs in them, barely noticeable. As of the time of her departure she has had no other modifications done. Her parents were both FEDRA soldiers and gave her up to the military due to lack of ability to raise a kid. This is where her fate was decided; she was to be enlisted as a FEDRA soldier at 18. She attended school normally, amongst peers with the same fate. Her true 'training' for her role in the FEDRA military started at only 14. When she started getting into the fighting part of it, she showed an obvious bias towards being near the back, handling her enemies from afar. FEDRA stuck her on rooftops as a patrolman, but also recruited her to help with issues on the walls. Cassia was happy with her life, despite how repetitive it was. In early 2034 she was recruited to transport a supposed 'cure' across the country. She accepted. Notable Skills: Distance fighting, making makeshift weapons. Strengths: Stealth, spotting enemies, making on the spot decisions, Weaknesses: Hand-to-hand combat, riding in general (she's not used to it and prefers walking but will do it if necessary), fighting her way through a crowd, talking her way out of stuff. Weaponry: Bow + quiver (holds 10 arrows currently), 11'' military-issued knife (basically new), a desk leg that she broke off and decided to keep. She has jet black hair that is usually cut to remain chin length, pale skin and hazel eyes. Her body is littered in scars from various fights that she's been in during her time as a soldier. However she normally keeps them covered up with her uniform. It's not the most creative name but she had been trying not to get attached to him when she found the young falcon as an injured fledgling and well she's not the most creative person out there. That being said despite her best efforts not to get attached during those early days, she has grown quite fond of the bird. She has trained him to both be a look out and to attack on command. Click - A clydesdale mare names Fidella whom was gifted to Isabelle by her adoptive father when she was six and just learning to ride. Fidella doesn't spook easily which comes in handy when dealing with infected. She isn't afraid to give a swift kick to any infected that gets too close for comfort. She has only ever thrown Isabelle once, and that was when she was still working on desensitizing her to seeing infected while out on patrol. Extra Information:
