Nightstar nickered softly. “Looks like you guys are in luck” midnight said. “Twi, will you help her stand?” She asked her sister. Nightstar nickered again, trying to stand up. “I can do it” Beauty said to her aunt, bending her nose behind her little sisters bum to help her to her feet. This was the first time she watched her sister stand. Midnight moved closer to Nightstar and she started nursing. “She’s standing!! She’s standing!!” Ember squealed. Harvest bumped his sister lightly. “Sorry” she whispered. Midnight laughed. “It’s alright” she said, nuzzling Nightstar as she nursed. When Nightstar finished, her legs trembled. “Twilight” midnight said. Midnight was still very tired and she couldn’t very much help Nightstar lay down. Ember rushed over, almost catching the little filly before she fell. “Thank you, Ember” midnight nickered. Ember nodded and she continued to stare at the little filly.
Stardust glared at the young stallions who stopped by her little cousin, she was taking care of her while she slept, and horses crowding around her, didn’t exactly help.

Twilight was about to get up to help Nighstar stand, when Beauty leapt forward hopefully, and she settled back down, smiling as the others clustered around, having good sense not to get too close though. Echo smiled, and Aspen gave another little squeal, silencing as she saw Harvest bump Ember as she squealed too. Darak watched slightly from behind the others, but he was smiling as well. When Nighstar finished, Twilight moved forward again, but once again another filly jumped in front of her, helping Nighstar to the ground. She snorted softly to herself in amusement.

Midnight felt bad for her sister. She was so used to helping her, but now that all these young yearlings were here, they were all trying to help. Beauty nuzzled her little sister and turned to her mother. “Thanks mom” she nickered softly. Midnight smiled and nodded. “Come on! Who wants to play a game of tag!” She said, instantly tagging Echo and running away from her friends. Ember and Harvest thanked Midnight for allowing them to see Nightstar and then they followed after Beauty.
When all the yearlings had gone, midnight lay down and turned to her sister. “I’m sorry” she said. “I know you love helping, but I couldn’t stop them” midnight said. “You…you understand…don’t..” midnight broke off as she yawned and her eyes slowly closed. She had to finish her sentence. “Don’t you?” She asked, her body staring to lay down against twilight as she slowly fell asleep once more

Aspen, Echo and Darak all nodded their thanks, then Echo began chasing Aspen and they all began galloping away. He paused for a second, glancing over where Nutmeg slept and giving a sigh, then charging after the others. She seemed ok, just tired. Hopefully. Deciding to stay optimistic, and not wanting to let on too much of his feelings, as he was completely oblivious he already looked like a moonstruck calf, he lengthened his stride, focusing on the game. His young growing muscles rippled under his light chestnut coat, golden mane and tail whipping in the wind as he pounded towards the other horses, finally singling out Harvest. Charging up to him he bopped him, then spun and raced away again.
Twilight smiled as the yearlings stampeded away, looking over to Midnight. She smiled again, nuzzling her sister and shifting so she could lean against her. "Of course I don't mind sis, not at all. I'm glad the young ones of this age are willing to help!" she said softly as her sister fell asleep.

Ember and Harvest chased there friends around until it got dark and Harvest bumped into Ember. "its getting late." he said. "mom and dad will be expecting us back soon." Harvest said. Ember sighed but nodded, knowing her brother was right. "bye guys" she said, hugging each of her friends before she turned, cantering after her brother. "Harvest, wait up!" She called.
Beauty sighed. "Harvest is right, we should be getting back to our families. I'll see you guys in the morning" She said, turning to go home. Midnight woke up one more time before the sun went down. She grazed for a bit and watched as Beauty came cantering up. "Hi mom, aunt Twily, dad" she said, hugging her parents. Midnight hugged Beauty in return and watched as she found a good patch of grass to graze from. After Beauty had fallen asleep, Midnight glanced towards Twilight. "its been a long day" she said. "but...im worried about Nightstar" she said. "will she make it through the night?" Midnight asked

Aspen, Echo and Darak bid their friends farewell, then raced off to their own families in the herd, grazing a bit then falling asleep, tired from the day.
Twilight stood and grazed when Midnight woke, glancing up as Beauty returned, and smiling at her. A bit later, she looked over at Midnight as she spoke in a tired, worried tone. Reaching over she nuzzled her "Yes, she will. She's stronger than you think! Besides, i'll be right here beside you and her" she said gently.

"And Rusty and I can take shifts if that makes you feel better" Starlight, who had been by her sisters' side all day said. Midnight nodded. "ok" she Midnight said. Starlight nodded then turned to Rusty. "I have the first shift, I'll wake you up at moon high" Starlight said, settling down beside Nightstar. She knew how worried her sister was, Nightstar wasn't even 24 hours old, and everyone knew that the first few days of a early foals life was critical. But, like Twilight said, Nightstar was very strong. Before Midnight went to sleep, she looked at Twilight again. "She's stronger than I am right now" she said, laying down again. "Twily, will you sleep directly beside me tonight? Like you used to when we were little" She asked

Twilight smiled at Rusty and nuzzled him goodnight as he nodded, taking a few steps away and whinnying for Nutmeg and Songbird. Nutmeg was over in a second, laying down beside her father. Songbird was a few minutes late, racing up breathlessly and sliding to a halt, walking in a few circles to slow her racing adrenaline before laying down or the night. Twilight looked back over at Midnight and nodded, laying down right beside her. "Of course I will Mid, and you're wrong, you're just as strong, if not stronger, than any horse" she said, nuzzling her again.

Midnight smiled and snuggled herself up beside her sister. Specks had settled himself down beside Beauty, and Stardust, after she had helped Nutmeg to her sleepy feet. Specks shot his mate and loving look before her nuzzled each of his daughters before falling asleep. Midnight smiled at him and looked back at Twilight. "I'm scared to go to sleep tonight." Midnight said. Starlight nuzzled her big sister. "its ok sis" she said. "Rusty and I are going to take shifts and keep an eye on her, you don't have to worry" she promised. Midnight smiled and nuzzled Starlight back before resting her head sleepily on her sisters back and closing her eyes, falling asleep for the 5th time that day.
Around moonhigh, Starlight carefully stood up and she made her way quietly over to Rusty, prodding him awake with her muzzle. "Rusty" she whispered.

Twilight nodded in agreement with Starlight "They'll keep watch, you just rest" she said. She would've offered to take a watch as well, but her sister seemed to really want her by her all night. Laying her head on the ground, she dozed off slowly.
Rusty fell asleep quickly, but was awakened all too soon by Starlight's nudge. Opening his eyes, he blinked, then nodded, remembering. "Get some sleep" he said with a smile, getting to his hooves and quietly walking closer to Midnight and Nightstar before laying down, making sure to keep an eye on the filly, watching for any irregularities.

Starlight nodded and settled herself down beside her two nieces, falling asleep fast from being up quite a while.
Midnight was breathing heavily all night, she shifted quite a bit, and eventually she did wake up. She spotted Rusty laying beside Nightstar. "is she alright?" Midnight whispered, the exhaustion clear in her eyes

Rusty looked over a few hours later as Midnight woke up, smiling reassuringly. "She's sleeping just fine, i'd suggest you go back to sleep as well, get your rest" he said quietly.

Midnight smiled. "Thanks Rusty" she said. "wake me up if anything happens." she said again, snuggling up close to Twilight again and closing her eyes. Midnight slept the rest of the night and she woke up the next morning, feeling refreshed, but still weak. She nudged her sister lightly. "good morning" she said in a small sleepy voice

Rusty nodded "of course" he said softly as she snuggled back up against his mate.
Finally morning arrived, but Rusty opted to stay awake until another woke up to watch the filly.
Twilight woke up to Midnight's nudge, yawning and smiling as she opened her eyes. "Morning sis" she said, nuzzling her. "How're you feeling?" she asked.

Midnight shrugged, “still not great” she said. Letting rusty go back to his fillies for sleep. “You can go sleep.” Midnight said. “We’re awake now, so we can watch Nightstar” midnight said, smiling and thanking rusty for watching her daughter. She gazed at her sister. “It doesn’t help that the first half of the night I was restless” midnight said with a huge sigh
