Twilight trotted off, heading towards where she'd last seen their mother as the herd had dispersed from their attack. Halfway there, she saw Stardust, and slowed as her niece spoke to her, nodding "Thank you, that will help your mother a lot" she said, then continued to her own mother. Trotting up she smiled and nuzzled her. "Midnight was hoping we could get the herd to move and sleep in a protective ring around her tonight, well her and Nightstar and Oreo and Stormy and any other pregnant or nursing mothers with their foals" she said.

Sunlight was walking back to her area with Nightlight when Twilight came up. She hugged her oldest daughter. “Of course.” She said. “You know I’m always willing to help out my girls” she said. Luckily, Nightlight had trotted off to find his crush Fireball, so he didn’t hear what she said. “And after the incident that Midnight just went through, I’m not surprised she wants the herd around her” sunlight said. “And, I know I shouldn’t worry about you, but I want you in the circle tonight too” sunlight said. “I’ll trot over to Starlight and let her and Oreo know what’s going on so Oreo can begin to move Stormy in that direction.” Sunlight said. “Go back to your sister now, she’s all frazzled after what just happened” sunlight nickered. “I’ll see you girls in a bit” she hugged Twilight once more before she trotted off to her youngest daughter.

Twilight smiled with relief as her mother calmly took control, nuzzling her then giving her a hug in return. "Thank you Mother" she said, glad that her mother was insisting she stay in the circle, what with her being pregnant and all. Turning, she trotted back to her sister, smiling as she saw Stardust laying with her. "Mother said she can definitely move the herd around us tonight" she said.

Midnight smiled and she hugged Twilight. “Thank you” she said. “Oh, and uh when did you start calling her mother?” Midnight asked. “I thought you were more of the type to call her mom” midnight said as she pressed herself into Twilight. Nightstar opened her eyes and she gazed around, yawning. “M-mama. M-M-m-m-i-l-k” she stuttered. Midnight smiled and nodded. “Twi, can you help her up?” She asked, hopefully.

Twilight blinked and shrugged slightly "I don't know, i didn't really think about it" she said, then nodded "Of course!" she said, leaning down and helping to nudge the little filly to her wobbly hooves.

Nightstar wobbled over to her mother, bending her head as she began to nurse. Midnight smiled and she nuzzled her lovingly. Oreo came walking over with Stormy and Starlight. “There’s my little niece.” She said, nickering, trotting up to nuzzle her two older sisters. “How’s she doing?” Starlight asked. “She’s good.” Midnight said. “She’s apparently really hungry right now” midnight said, smiling. Oreo came trotting up with Stormy behind. “H-hi midnight.” He said. Midnight smiled a fake smile. “Hi Stormy.” She said. Oreo brought him over to where they would be staying, her mate joined them a few moments later. “Wow..” midnight mumbled as Nightstar nursed. “He really can talk..” she said.

Twilight smiled and gave Starlight a hug, but her nerves were tenses as she saw Oreo trot up, Stormy keeping up behind her. She gritted her teeth slightly as the unsuspecting colt trotted up to Midnight and spoke relatively easily. With a sigh she nuzzled Midnight as soon as Oreo was far enough away. "Hey, but remember, he was born on time, and he's still stuttering a little bit!" she said.

“I know” midnight said. “And i just have to keep reminding myself that Nightstar can say a few stuttered words.” Midnight added. Starlights eyes lit up. “Wait…Nightstar can talk?” She asked. Midnight nodded. “Just a few stutteres, but he’s, she can stutter words.” Midnight said. “Can I hear her?” She asked. Midnight nodded. “When she’s finished eating, yes.” Midnight said. Starlight nodded and when Nightstar finished eating, Midnight lay beside her. “Nightstar, this is your Aunt Starlight. Can you do me a favor and tell her that you can say Aunt Twilight?” Midnight asked. Nightstar thought for a second but nodded. “A-A-A-U-N-N-T T-W-W-I-I-L-I-G-H-T” she stuttered. Starlight smiled big. “Oh Nightstar!” She squealed. “Thats amazing!!” She said, hugging her little cousin.

Twilight smiled softly and nodded, then looked over at Starlight. "She can also say a few full words, short ones" she added, then waited for Nightstar to finish. When she did, Twilight stepped forward and lowered her nose to the filly's encouragingly, then smiled wide as she stuttered out the words. "She can say Milk, Mama, Bee and Leaf without having to say each letter as well" she added, eager to encourage Midnight even more. "Nutmeg's been working with her on speaking, Midnight was the one who figured out that she's good at helping since you remember she couldn't quite speak for a bit when she was born"

Starlight nodded. “Nightstar, can you say mama?” She asked. Nightstar thought for a moment. “M-mama” she said. Starlight smiled huge. “That’s amazing! How about Bee?” She asked. “B-BEE” Nightstar said. Starlights eyes widened. “Wow, that’s amazing!!” She nickered. “How about leaf?” Starlight asked. “L-leaf” she said. Starlight smiled. “Can we get Nutmeg to teach her my name?” She asked. Midnight nodded. “Twily, do you want to go find her?” Midnight asked.

Twilight beamed happily at Starlight's impressed smile, and also with pride for her daughter, then nodded "I can go get her for sure!" she said, turning and trotting off to go find the yearlings.

Midnight smiled. “It will take a few tries for her to fully get it, but she will” midnight promised. Starlight nodded. “I understand” she said. Midnight nodded. “It’s going to be kind of hard for her, Star will be easy but I’m not so sure about light. She hasn’t practiced it yet.” Midnight said. Starlight nodded again. “Nutmeg will help” she said. Midnight nodded. “Yes, she will” midnight said, scanning the herd for her sister.

Twilight finally found the yearlings a ways off, huddled in a little group, talking about the wolf attack.
"That was CRAZY!" Aspen said in a dramatic voice, Nutmeg staying silent, shocked and worried, by her shoulder. "Aspen" Echo said in a quiet tone, shaking his head as she looked over at him questioningly, then glancing at Nutmeg. "But i'm sure it won't happen again, I mean we hardly ever get wolf attacks!" she quickly added. Nutmeg nodded her head, "Yeah, i hope" she said. A moment later, Twilight trotted up. "Excuse me, but we need Nutmeg to help Nightstar for a minute" she said, smiling at the yearlings. "Ok!" Aspen said, nudging Nutmeg to go, knowing it would help her get out of the shock of the scare to help her cousin. "What does Nightstar need help with?" Nutmeg asked as they began making their way back. "Starlight's over, and she wants to see if Nightstar can learn her name" she explained. Nutmeg nodded and sped up, eager to prove herself to her youngest aunt. Reaching Midnight, Starlight, and Nightstar, Nutmeg nuzzled both her aunts, then gave her cousin a hug. "Hey Nightstar!" she said happily, then glanced over at Starlight. "So, has she tried learning your name yet?" she questioned.

“No” starlight said. “Mostly because I haven’t really tried yet.” She said. “But midnight told me that you’ve been great with her and that you can help her learn my name. Is that true?” She asked. Nightstar piped in. “N-N-N-U-T-M-E-G” she said, smiling. Midnight also smiled. “Yes, that’s right, that’s your cousin Nutmeg” midnight said. “I’ve told Starlight it’s going to take her a few tries before she gets it” midnight said.
(I can probably do one more post. I gtg to bed…it’s 12am)

Nutmeg blushed slightly, shrugging "I mean it's really all her, i just help where i can" she said, then nuzzled her cousin as she said her name. "Yep, i'm here!" she said, glancing up and nodding again. "We'll go slow" she said, then lay down in front of her cousin. "Ok, Nightstar, this is your Aunt Starlight. Can you say it with me? A-u-n-t S-t-a-r-llll-iiii--gggg--hhhh-ttt" she said slowly, enunciating carefully and keeping eye contact with Nightstar.
