i added some more info on this. anyone interested?
Whitewater Estate is the home and training center of the legendary Whitewater Equestrian Team. The team has success all over the world. The reason? Top-notch horses, top-notch trainers, and riders with a will made of steel. Every year, a team of the world's best riders is invited to compete in the Whitewater Equestrian Trials. Formally, the trials consist of multiple competitions at the end of the summer to juddge how far the riders have come with their assigned horse, but informally, the riders are constantly being judged. Not just on their riding, but on their attitude, competitiveness, sociability, team compatibility, and almost everything else. Each rider must be on their best behaviour, despite all the challenges Whitewater will throw at them.
Sound like a dream? That's because it is. Not everyone is here based on their skill. Some are here due to their money, fame, or power. That's not the worst part. Every year at the trials, a catastrophe takes place. A fire at the barn, a termite infestation, and in one case, a horrible case of shipping fever going around. Rumor has it that these problems are staged by Whitewater to test each rider's mental strength in the times of the worst conflict. To them, horses are replaceable. A good rider isn't.
Each character will be assigned a horse at the beginning of summer, this horse has little training/and or trauma. The rider needs to train this horse within one or multiple English disciplines. But the trials only test you in dressage, showjumping and cross country.
If anything were to happen to that horse the rider would be assigned a new horse, preferably around the same level as the other.
Characters can get better trained or simpler to train horses through bribery with the whitewater.
here is a little history of the barn
Whitewater estate was founded as a breeding barn in the late 17-hundreds, breeding top quality warmbloods(military horses). over the years it went more to competition horses, and now it has a very few breeding horses. They have also started with a smaller retraining/rescue program despite their little care for the horses. although they arent big in the breeding world they have multiple well known competiton teams. since 2000 they have started competitions to let people into their competition teams. Not including their own horse, but an assigned rescue from the barn.
