"No, I want to say it now. I feel bad that I had to make you wait. I love you, Clo...and I always will," Austin said before he pulled her closer to him. He then leaned down and kissed her for a long moment before he decided that he needed to get out of bed for a little bit. The doctors had said that Austin could wander around the hospital as a way of moving around. There was a place outside that patients could wander around if they were able to. It would be nice to get some fresh air. "How about we go walk around for a bit. I am already tired of being in this bed for long periods," Austin said as he swung his feet over the bed and put on a pair of slippers that Lauren had brought him.

“I’d like that” Chloe said, putting in her flip flops that she was wearing when she arrived. She took his hand and they left his room. “Where do you want to go?” She asked, letting him take the lead. “I told this to your sister.” Chloe said. “And I think it’s time you herd it too” Chloe said. “I fell in love with you when I first saw you on the plane.” Chloe said. “And, when we went out for the first time…I…told myself that I was certain I would marry you one day.” She said, kissing his cheek. “And now, we’re official. So it starting to feel more real to me, like maybe we will get married one day” she said, smiling.

Getting up, Austin grabbed onto the IV pole to bring it with him as it was the main way that he got his pain medication when he needed it for the pain in his arm. He then walked out of the room with Chloe as they began to go down the hall. It was weird walking alone without a nurse with him. But if felt good to have at least a little freedom to explore the hospital a little bit. He liked to go to the area where he could watch the helicopter would land when they had a patient to bring in for emergencies. But today, he did not mind skipping that area so that he could walk some more. He held her arms in his as they walked down the hallway past patient rooms. He thought about what Chloe had just said. "You did?" But when she said that she wanted to marry him one day, Austin stopped. "Whoa, take it one step at a time, Clo. We may get there one day, but right now, lets just think of the time we have together. I am not saying that to tell you no. I just want you to think about taking it slow."

"I know" Chloe said. "But I thought you should still know." she said. "How about if we go outside?" she suggested. It was a beautiful day out that day, the sun was shining, there was a nice breeze, there was not a single cloud in the sky. "the sun is shining. theres a small breeze, and tehre's not a cloud in the sky." Chloe said, smiling. "look, I shouldn't have brought that up." she said. "I guess it was just the moment kinda thing." Chloe said, laughing slightly. Wow, she really embarrassed herself right there. What if Austin didn't feel that way? Chloe didn't care, after all, he had just called her his girlfriend, so that was a step in the right direction she suposed.

"It's okay. But of course, we can go outside. But I do not want to be out too long in case the doctor comes in and needs me for something," Austin announced as they went out to the outdoor terrace that had tables for people and patients to sit at. He sat down in one of the chairs. He closed his eyes as he felt the sun warmth on his face. "I feel it has been forever since I have been outside," Austin said as he took a deep breath of fresh air. He then heard the sound of a plane above him as he looked up to see a jet flying above with a stream of contrails behind it. He then looked back at Chloe as he listened to the sound of the jet. "I was watching the news last night and found out that one of the flight attendants was one of the people that were killed in the accident. I had to turn the TV off when I felt a sudden feeling of guilt about the crash. I may not remember the crash or anything...but I am sure I did everything I could to get the plane to the airport."

"I know you did" Chloe said. "You're an amazing pilot, so you would never want to harm anyone. I don't think anyone else died." Chloe said, though she wasn't actually sure. Did anyone else die? Chloe didn't care about that, all she cared about was Austin. "I'm glad you're ok." she said, leaning forward to kiss him. "I've been so worried about you. Molly has been brining me food when I didn't want to leave your side." Chloe said. "She even stayed with you while I got some fresh air." Chloe said. "I can't wait until you're able to leave the hospital." Chloe said. "then, we can actually hang out, without people coming in at random times." Chloe said, almost laughing

Austin had to chuckle. "I know. I am used to the privacy when I was at my place. But I can not wait for you to move in with me. It is kinda lonely in that place when I am alone," Austin announced as he placed a hand on Chloe's cheek. He then moved his right shoulder and then winced when a slight pain stung down his arm. It was hard being right handed when you had broken part of your shoulder and the humerus. He was not used to using his left hand very much. But he would get used to it. It may take a while for the bones to heal. But he could not wait to get the sling off.

"well" Chloe said, helping him by moving herself closer to him. "it wont be when i'm there." she leaned forward, put her hands behind his head and kissed him. "We should head back inside soon." Chloe said, glancing at the time on her apple watch. "its almost noon, don't they give you lunch soon?" she asked, getting kind of cold from the breeze. She shivered slightly but then warmed up more when Austin put his good arm around her. She looked up at him and smiled. "I love you, Austin Woods." She said

Austin smiled as he looked at Chloe. "I love you too, Clo," Austin said as he kissed her for a long moment. He then stood up as he felt the wind begin to pick up a little. He also could see that there were some storm clouds beginning to form in the distance. "Looks like we might have a Demons of a night ahead," Austin announced as he looked at the dark clouds. Let's get in." He then stood up to head back into his room. He was a little tired from the walk. He knew that after the time fighting to stay alive, his body had become exhausted. And he was paying for it now. He needed to work his way back to his normal life. And that meant a few months of not flying. Not until his doctor cleared him. It honestly hurt not being able to fly. Flying was like a drug to him. He needed it in his life to feel a sense of normalcy. Once he got back to his room, Austin sat down on the bed as he felt his body become heavy.

Chloe followed Austin back to his room, she took off her shoes and sat on his bed with him, her head resting on his shoulder. She closed her eyes, and slowly she fell asleep. When she woke up a little while later, she carefully got out of Austin's bed, she stretched, and folded up the pull out couch, and sat down on top, pulling a blanket over her to keep her warm. She glanced out the window. Rain was pouring down and the wind was very strong. Chloe shivered again when she thought about being out there. She took out her phone and scrolled through Instagram, liking recent pictures Molly's parents posted of Beauty. They always posted pictures of Beauty when Chloe was unable to visit her horse.

After lunch, Austin had fallen asleep. He then woke up in the middle of the night to see a bolt of lightening flash across the window outside. He then heard the sound of rumbling of distant thunder. It was probably Demons for those up above the storm. He tried to go back to sleep, but was unsuccessful. He did not realize that someone had stopped by in the middle of him sleeping when he noticed that his suitcase had been brought to the room. He thought it was lucky that it had not burned or charred in the fire after the crash. Austin slowly got out of bed as he tried not to wake Chloe. He made his way over to the suitcase and pulled it over to his bed. He checked that everything was in there as best he could with one hand. His passport, flashlight, pilot's license, his extra headset that he had put in the bag, power banks, his flight log book, his laptop for his digital logbook which he backed up his flights on when he had time, and other things that he needed. He then dug into the suitcase to see if his surprise for Chloe had survived the crash. He was hoping that he did not feel any liquid on his clothes. Thankfully his uniforms and other clothing were dry. His hand then felt the tissue wrapped item that had a spherical shape at the top. It was still in one piece. He pulled it out of the suitcase but kept it wrapped up in the tissue paper, ready for Chloe to open when she woke up in the morning. He set it down on the table next to Chloe with the card underneath it.

In the card it read:

Chloe,

I know this is not the same snow globe that your father got you when he came back from Norway many years ago. But I figured that I would replace it for you since you enjoyed it so much. I hope that you like it.

Chloe decided to stay with Austin that night. Molly brought over some pjs for her and her pillow, and her favorite sleeping blanket. Chloe got the bed ready around 10, then she lay down and closed her eyes, falling asleep once more. When she woke up the next morning, she looked out the window. It was still raining, but the lighting and thunder seemed to have stopped. She looked beside her and saw a little bag. She grabbed the note from under it and read it. A smile came across her face when she read it, then she opened the bag, and felt tears run down her face. It was almost an exact replica of the Snow globe she had lost. Chloe smiled and held it in her hands. She walked over to Austin and kissed the top of his head, whispering "thank you" She then went back to the couch and pulled out her phone, a text from Molly waiting for her.
Molly- Morning Clo, I'll bring you breakfast by 9:30
Chloe- alright, Austin got me the sweetest gift. Its a snow globe to replace the one dad got me
Molly- awww thats so sweet, i'll bring it home for you
Chloe- thanks, also, Austin said I can move in with him, and you can come so i'm not lonely when he's flying
Molly- omg! thats amazing!!

Austin woke up just before Molly had arrived as he needed to get all the rest that he could get to help his body heal faster. He figured that another pilot was able to ring his suitcase to him. "Morning," Austin said as he stretched his good arm. He wanted to stretch out his right arm, but knew that there would be a burning pain that would ensue if he moved it. He then sat up as he pulled the blanket off him. He needed to take a shower and was able to do it by himself now. He then dug through his suitcase and pulled out a light grey cowboys t-shirt, a pair of black pj bottoms and some other things that he needed for his shower.

Once he was done, Austin returned to the room as he rubbed the towel down his face and walked over to the bed. "Molly, it is good to see you. I talked to the doctor this morning before I fell back asleep this morning and he said that I should be released in a few days."

"Morning." Chloe said. Molly arrived a few minutes later with Chloe's breakfast. "pancakes, and bacon, and yourgert" Molly said. "MMMM" Chloe said. "my favorite" Chloe said. Molly laughed and set it down, sitting down beside Chloe. "so, how's he doing?" she asked. "good, he's getting better. The doctor said he can get released soon." Chloe said, hugging Molly after she took a bite of her pancake. Then, Austin came out. "Hey, Austin" Molly said. "I'm so glad to see you awake, and don't worry, I brought you some food too." She said, standing up and brining the second plate of pancakes and bacon over to him. "Thats amazing!!" She said, setting down the food. "Chloe told me, we're moving in with you" she said.

"Yeah, I figured it would be better for the both of us so that we do not have to travel so far to see each other. I also figured Chloe would like some company while I am flying so that she does not have to be alone. I mean, my grandparents are there...but I am sure she would also want to have some friends over," Austin announced. He had not broken the news to his grandparents yet as he wanted to tell them when he got out of the hospital. They already had enough to deal with having to take care of the ranch themselves while he was in the hospital. Austin sat down on the bed after he placed the towel on a rack to dry. "We can also move Beauty over if you want. Once I am cleared, I can trailer her over," Austin announced as he pulled the table with his breakfast over to him. He took a bite of the bacon. "Thank you for bringing me this. The hospital food has become a little...bland in my taste."
