"Uh Lauren, can I give you a call back? Something is going on that I need to take care of..." Austin announced as Molly informed him about Chloe heading to confront her best friend's ex. He hung up the phone and placed it in the back pocket. Running to catch up to Chloe, he pulled her by her collar. "What the Demons do you think you are doing!? I am not going to have to explain to your mother why I had to bail you out of jail. This is insanity!" Austin exclaimed as he looked at his girlfriend. "Chloe, what do you think you are going to accomplish by beating this guy?" Austin was trying to use his training as a pilot to deescalate the situation.

"He hurt my best friend." Chloe said. "I need to hurt him." she said. "no" Molly said. "you don't" Chloe looked at her. "and Austin's right. How is he going to explain to your mother why your boyfriend had to bail you out of prison for beating up my ex." Molly said. "why don't we just go inside, you can take a breather, and calm down." Molly said. "no one is beating up anyone today." Molly said. "Not like I've never done it before." Chloe said. Molly sighed. "ok, high school was different. Obviously you beat up Julia Kramer. She kissed your boyfriend in the school hallway." Molly said. Chloe laughed. "ok, but I did her good." Chloe said. "NO! Your brother had to pull you off her." she said. "Don't make me call him." she got out her phone. "cause I will." Molly said. "no...Mols please don't call my brother." Chloe begged. "I won't attack him, just please don't call my brother." she said

He hated that he had to talk to Chloe this way. "Then you are going to march your ass back in that house and cool off. That is the only option we have for you. Molly is grown up. She can take care of herself." He pointed back at the door as he looked at her. "Chloe, just let Molly handle it. She knows what is best for her." He did not want to have to leave if it meant that Chloe had to rush into something that did not concern her. He could feel a slight pain in his right shoulder as he looked at Chloe. But he did not show it on his face. The doctor said that for a while he might feel a slight pain in his shoulder every once in a while. He just had to be careful on how he moved his shoulder. That would take longer to heal than his humerus. He remembered his doctor saying something about his rotator cuff in his shoulder and how he had to repair it when he was in surgery the second time. He had to go back under for the removal of some pins in his arm.

"Ok" Chloe said, turning and heading inside. She felt that she needed to take a shower. "Ellie." Chloe whistled and Ellie went running towards her. "Come on" Chloe headed for the stairs. "i'm going to take a shower, i'll be back in an hour" Chloe said. She headed up to her room and got into the shower. When she got out, she got all nice and cozy in her pjs and then flopped on her bed. A picture of her and her dad was sitting on her night stand. It was a picture of when she was little. She grabbed the picture and looked at it, starting to cry as she remembered her dads funeral. "oh dad" she whispered. Ellie had managed to leave her room and she was making her way down the stairs. She found Austin and grabbed hold of his pants with her teeth. she was whining slightly and she wanted him to follow her back to Chloe's room. Chloe stared down at the picture and began crying more. "I miss you" She said, tears streaming down her face.

Looking down, Austin could see Ellie grabbing ahold of the bottom of his jeans as she wanted him to follow her. He then stood up as he followed the German Shepherd puppy upstairs to Chloe's room. He peeked around the door as he heard the sound of sniffling. He could see Chloe looking at a picture that she was holding. He gently opened the door and walked in. Placing a hand on her shoulder, Austin looked down at her and then pulled her into a tight embrace, careful about his broken arm. It was then that he pulled her into a long passionate kiss to let her know that he was here for her. To him, she was the piece that the missing puzzle piece as he held her body close to his.

Chloe cried while Austin held her. "I just miss him so much." she said after she kissed Austin in return. "its not fair." she muttered. "why did he have to have a heart attack?" Chloe asked. "why my dad? There was so much I wanted to tell him about my trip." Chloe said, sitting up, her body in the crook of Austins arm. "when I was little, my dad would swing me over his shoulder just like in that picture. He always took me to my favorite play ground." Chloe said, sniffling. "ya know, whenever I had a bad dream, he would always come into my room, and look under my bed, and pretend to scare the monsters away. He would sit on my bed and say to me. Don't worry Clo, there' no monsters under your bed as long as I'm here." Chloe said, sniffling again. "I just wish that I could hug him one last time." Chloe sighed slightly and put her head on Austin's shoulder

"I often wondered the same thing when I was growing up after I lost my parents. But sometimes things happen and we can't do anything to control it. They happen for a reason. But, you just gotta keep those memories in your heart to keep the memory of your father alive," Austin announced. "There never goes a day where I am not thinking about my parents. I think of my father when I am flying. He loved to fly. He would often take me up in his little Cessna and we would go count the wild horses on the property. My mother would help me groom my horse. She would hold me in her arms, place her hand on top of mine and we would just groom Beau for a long time. I keep those memories alive because I do things that remind me of my parents. I don't let it hurt anymore. But for you, you may not be okay for a long time, and that is okay. You take all the time you need," Austin announced as he looked at Chloe. He then sat down on her bed and pulled her so that he was sitting on his lap. "I am here if you ever need me. And...I am just across the hallway should you ever have a nightmare."

Chloe laughed. "well, that hasn't happened since I was little, so I don't think you have anything to worry about." Chloe said, turning her head to kiss him. Ellie barked and Chloe laughed. "sorry Ellie." Chloe said laughing. "hey, I think the pizza should be here soon, want to head down?" she asked. Ellie barked. "I think Ellie needs to use the bathroom." Chloe said. Ellie barked again. "Ellie!!" Chloe stood up just as Ellie was about to squat and pee. She picked Ellie up and ran down the stairs. "MOLLY! OPEN THE BACK DOOR. Ellie's about to pee." Molly raced to the back door and opened it. Chloe set her down on the grass and Ellie went to the bathroom. Chloe let out a breath of relief. "She almost did that on my floor." Chloe said. Just then, the door bell rang. "I got it." Chloe said, opening the door. "Really James?" Chloe rolled her eyes and took the pizza from her brother. "thanks" she said. "that'll be 27.50." He said. Chloe rolled her eyes. "Austin is paying for this one." Chloe said as Austin came to the door

"The invitation is always open," Austin announced with a wink before Chloe grabbed her dog to run it outside before it go on the floor. He then headed downstairs as he heard the sound of the doorbell ringing. Grabbing his wallet, he pulled out a tip since he had already paid for the pizza with his credit card. He pulled out a $10 tip for her brother and handed it to him. "This is for you." He took the boxes of pizza in his good hand and handed them to Chloe. "Thanks."

"You be good to my little sister." James said. "JAMES!" Chloe said. "Just give me one second, Austin." Chloe said, walking outside, she closed the door. "You can't come to my house and talk to my boyfriend like that." Chloe said. James looked at her. "You're my little sister, I just want to protect you." He said. "how long is that going to last?" Chloe asked. James shrugged. Chloe sighed. "I love you." Chloe said. "Love you too little sis." James said, hugging her and kissing her head before she went back inside. "Sorry about that." Chloe said. "All good, I was explaing to Austin that you needed to talk to your brother about something." Molly said, as she opened the pizza box

"Trust me, I used to be the same way about Lauren when she met her husband 7 years ago. I was so protective of her that I almost decked him one time when he brought her home late. She was living with me at the time as she was having a hard time finding employment after graduating college," Austin announced. He sat down at the table and took a piece of pepperoni pizza out of the box. Taking a bite, he thought for a moment. "Did you tell your brother that you were moving in with me?"

"I did not" Chloe mumbled. "I didn't exactly come up....and you know...he could...punch you" Chloe said with a mouth full of food. "YOU'RE MOVING IN WITH AUSTIN?" Chloe looked around. "James, what the Demons?" her brother had snuck in from the back to say hi to Ellie, but then he was eavesdropping. "give me a second, would you." she said, standing up and walking over to the back door. "Yes, I'm moving in with Austin." James sighed. "why don't you move in with me?" he suggested. "you mean you and your wife?" Chloe asked. "you could see your sweet little niece every day." He said. "besdies, she really loves her aunt Chloe." Chloe smiled. "I do miss playing with sweet little Caitlin." she said. "See" James said. "Come live with me and Caitlin and Ally." he said. Chloe shook her head. "I do love you, and Caitlin and even Ally, but if I'm ever going to get married one day, I need to live with my boyfriend." Chloe said. James sighed, but nodded. "Tell my little niece I love her." Chloe said. He nodded. "I will" He hugged Chloe again and left

Austin was half expecting to be punched when he heard James at the door. He had to roll his eyes, but was relieved that the guy did not punch him. He in fact had just gotten out of the hospital after a major plane crash. Which he still kind of felt guilty about. But he saved as many people as he could by doing what he could to get as close to the airport that he could. He knew that there was going to be a major investigation and that he would be questioned about what exactly happened by the NTSB. But that would not be for a while. "James, I promise to take care of Chloe as much as I can. But she is not moving in by herself. Molly is going to be there when I am on duty."

James nodded. "alright, thats good to hear. But if my little sister comes to my house at all because of something you did, watch out." James said. "James, just go" Chloe said. "and give Caitlin a kiss for me." James nodded. "I'll tell her her auntie Choe misses her." Chloe smiled. "thanks." Chloe said as she whistled for Ellie. Ellie went trotting back inside and Chloe followed her, she closed the door and sat back down. "So...I might have forgotten to mention I have a 5 year old niece named Caitlin." Chloe said, pulling up a picture of Caitlin on her phone. "Molly do you want to move Athena to his place too?" Chloe asked. Molly nodded. "Athena and Beauty need to be together." Molly said.

Sitting back down at the table, Austin looked at the picture of Caitlin. "She is adorable. She is welcome to come to the ranch should her parents let her," Austin announced as he took a bite of his food. He then poured himself a glass of Dr. Pepper before taking another bite. He looked at Chloe. He knew that he wanted children of his own one day...but that was going to wait until he was married. He reached for another slice of pizza from the box.
