"well, he's texted me about him not wanting me to work with Lightning Dexter." Chloe said. "Oh, the horse that kicked me, but you know how persistent I am...and I sort of already have, and he's halter broke now, soooo." Chloe said, laughing. "But other than him being mad at me for working with a horse, nothing about his plane." Chloe said. "sorry" she said. She knew Austin's grandmother was worried about her grandson, and could she blame her? not really, Chloe was so insanely worried about Austin ever since that accident. "I will let you know as soon as I hear something." Chloe said. "Molly and I were about to head back to his place/ our place, can we get you anything?" she asked

"I think I have everything I need. I am just making a pie for a friend as she loves my strawberry pies. Thank you, though," Elizabeth announced. She was about to say something else when the home phone suddenly rang. She walked over to the cordless phone to look at the number. She smiled as she saw Austin's name on the caller id. Answering the phone, she smiled. "We were just talking about you."

"Wait...you were?" Austin asked as he stood in the Jet Bridge between the building and the plane. He was leaning against the wall since he was a little early for the flight. But he just wanted to do his own walk around of the plane before Greg did. "Who are you talking to?"

"Chloe. She just came to tell me that the horses are fed so that your grandfather does not have to do it since his knee has been acting up," Elizabeth answered as she looked at Chloe before she motioned for Chloe to follow her to the kitchen table. "I hear you are upset with her working with that new horse."

"Do you have me on speaker?" Austin asked as he raised an eyebrow.

"No, but do you want me to?" Elizabeth asked as she sat down.

"No. I am just upset that she is not taking things slow and resting. She should not be working with that horse right now. I want her to wait for me to get back so that I can help her with breaking that horse. I do not trust her doing it herself," Austin sighed. He rubbed the bridge of his nose for a moment as he felt a slight headache starting.

"Well, you can tell her that yourself. hold on a sec..." his Gran announced as she pressed a button on the phone as Austin spoke.

"Gran, no...you don't have too do..."

"You're on speaker now," she announced.

God Darn it... "Chloe, if you are there...I need you to promise me something," Austin sighed as his headache intensified.

Chloe closed her eyes, and soon Molly was looking at her mouthing. What's going on? Chloe mouthed back. Austin's on the phone, he wants me to promise something, its probobly something to do with Lightning. Molly nodded. Chloe walked up to the phone. "hey, Austin" she said, looking at Elizabeth. "Before you say anything, Lightning Dexter is a good horse, he joined up, he trusts me. Why can't you?" she asked him. Molly looked at her and walked into the kitchen, whispering in her ear. "not the best way to go" Chloe shot her a glance and Molly shrugged. "I know, but I had to say something" Chloe whispered back

"I know I can't stop you from working with Lightning...but I want you to promise me that you will wait until I get back to start him under saddle. Trust me, I have worked with horses who needed to be broke. That is one of my jobs at the ranch when I am at home. I have a feeling that as soon as you put that saddle on his back, he is going to blow up. Let me be the first to ride him," Austin pleaded as he heard the sound of footsteps coming down the jet bridge. He looked up to see Greg coming down.

"You're still not on board?" Greg asked as he stopped next to Austin.

"I'll be there in the cockpit in a sec, Greg. I just got to take care of something really quick. Go ahead and start the walk around," Austin announced and then waited for Chloe's response as Greg nodded and headed onto the plane.

“No” Chloe said. “Lightning trusts me, it will take time, but I was going to get the saddle on him tomorrow. And as for you being the first one on his back, I deny that too. I am going to be the first one ride Lightning Dexter” she said into the phone. “Have a good flight” she left it at that and left the house. Chloe grabbed Mollys arm and she practically dragged her out of the house. “What the Demons, Chloe” she said. Chloe looked at her. “Can you blame me?” She asked. “Lightning is going to be my horse along with Beauty, I am going to be the one to train him, I am going to be the one to ride him first” Molly nodded. “I know that” she said. “Austin doesnt” Chloe said with a sigh as she headed to their house. When they got there, she grabbed a bag. “What are you doing?” She asked. “I’m going to my moms.” Chloe said. “No” Molly said. “Why not?” She asked. Molly sighed. “Who else is going to train Lightning?” She asked. Chloe laughed. “You’re right, but I’m going back to my room tonight” Chloe said, grabbing her stuff, whistling to the dogs, and heading to her room.

"God Darn it Chloe! I said no!" Austin yelled. He watched as Greg poked his head out of the door of the plane when he heard Austin yelling. "Chloe?"

"She just left the house. I think that this is something that you are going to have to bring up to Chloe yourself. I think you should call her phone," Elizabeth announced once she turned the speaker off and held the receiver to her ear.

"God Darn it..." Austin sighed. He then said goodbye to his grandmother and walked onto the plane.

"Everything alright?" Greg asked as Austin moved his way into the cockpit.

"Does it look like everything is okay?" Austin snapped, but regretted it the moment after he snapped. "I'm sorry. I should have not snapped at you. It's just that Chloe is starting to piss me off. She will not listen. I swear if what happened to her happens again, it will be her own fault."

"Harsh, but true," Greg said as he nodded. "I am going to go do the walk around. Unless you want to do it..." Greg said as he put on his reflective vest.

"No, I'll get the APU started and fill out some of this paperwork before we depart," Austin said as he sat down in the left seat and began to turn on switches on the overhead panel above him.

"Alright," Greg announced with a nod before he walked off the plane.

“Mols, I want to go home” Chloe said, when she was sitting in her bed. Molly sighed. “I know, but is that really a good idea?” Molly asked. Chloe sighed. “I’m sorry, ok, it’s just, that….” Chloe sighed. “I know, I know.” She said. “But Clo, if you leave, how will you work things out with Austin?” She asked. “I want to be the one to ride Lightning first” she said. “I know! But you’re not leaving” Molly said. Chloe sighed. “Fine” she said, leaving the house. “Where are you going?” Molly asked. “Working with Lightning” Chloe said. She whistled. “Ellie, Maverick, come on” Ellie followed after Chloe, maverick close behind her. She headed out to the barn, and took beauty out instead of lightning. She put on her bridle and saddle, setting up some jumps in the ring. Mounting and starting to jump. “Stay dogs” she said.

Filling out the paperwork was hard to focus on, but he was able to get it done as the lead flight attendant, Lisa Kennedy appeared in the doorway of the cockpit. "Capitan, is there anything I can get you?"

Austin looked up from the checklist he was holding in his hands. "Oh, would you mind bringing me some coffee and some aspirin?" Austin asked as looked at the flight attendant. She was in her early 40's and had dark brown curly hair, tanned skin, and light brown eyes. A lot of the other flight attendants thought of Lisa as like a mother figure since she gave off the motherly vibe to everyone.

"Is everything alright?" Lisa asked as she leaned up against the door and crossed her arms.

"Just some personal matters that have come to my attention," Austin said to the lead flight attendant. He gave her a smile that was hard to sell.

"It's that new girlfriend of yours, isn't it?" Lisa asked.

"What makes you think that?" Austin asked, raising a brow.

"Just a woman's intuition. Greg warned me when he saw me a moment ago that you were moody over something. He didn't tell me what it was...but I had a feeling it was that girlfriend of yours," Lisa announced.

Chloe halted beauty and she took off the saddle, laying on Beautys back with a sigh. Molly came out. “What now?” She asked. Chloe sat up. “I hate arguing with Austin, where been dating for a few months, and I love him of course, but he doesn’t want me doing anything with Lightning” Chloe sighed. “Let me text him real quick.”

Look, I’m sorry about the argument we had on the phone. I’ll tell you what, I will continue to do ground work with Lightning, as long as you agree to let me ride him first.
She sent the text and got off Beauty. “It’s getting late, we should head inside.” Chloe said. “Maverick, Ellie” both dogs followed her as she headed into the barn. “Meet you in the house” Chloe said. Molly nodded. Chloe untacked beaut and out her back in the stall, throwing all the horses hay, she headed back to the house, the dogs on her heals. “You miss him, don’t you maverick” maverick whined slightly, and Chloe rubbed him behind his ears. “Yea, me too” she said.

About to request pushback, Austin was about to turn his phone off when a message came through from Chloe.

I really can't talk about this right now. We are about to begin pushback. I will talk to you when I am off duty if you are awake. Or once I have landed and I am at the hotel.

Austin turned off his phone and put it into his flight bag as the plane started to be pushed back from the gate. Today, he would be the one flying while Greg would be focusing on communicating with ATC during their flight. Since it was starting to rain, he reached up to the overhead control panel and turned on the windshield wipers to slow since it was just starting to rain.

Chloe sighed. “Guess he doesn’t miss me” she said to Maverick. Maverick looked at her and licked her. “Ok, maybe he does” Chloe said when she was inside the house. She took a quick shower and ate dinner with Molly. “You good to take Ellie?” She asked. “I’ve got Maverick when Austin’s gone, Ellie good to sleep with you tonight?” Molly nodded. “Of course” she said, picking Ellie up. “She’s getting to big for this” Molly laughed. “Then stop carrying her” Chloe said, laughing. When Chloe got to her room, she put her pjs on and patted the bed. “I know Austin doesn’t let you sleep in his bed, but I’m not Austin now am I?” Chloe laughed and Maverick jumped onto her bed, circled and lay down, with a giant sigh. Chloe smiled, rubbing him behind the ears. “Good boy” she said, yawning and turning off her light. She texted Austin. -I’ll call you in the morning, hope your ok with Maverick sleeping in my bed. I love you- she sent the text, rubbed maverick behind his ears again and closed her eyes, falling asleep

10 hours later, Austin laid on the bed in the crew rest as he was on his three hour rest time. By the time that he would wake up, there would only be an hour of the flight left. He laid his head down on the pillow as he closed his eyes. It had been an interesting day. He did not know whether Chloe had texted him back as his phone was still off. He reached to the curtain and pulled it closed as he turned off the light. He needed to get some sleep since he was feeling a little tired. But first, he grabbed his phone and turned it on so that he could message Chloe on Messenger.

Hey, not sure if you are up. I want to apologize about our fight. I am about to get some rest for a few hours. If I do not answer that is why. I still want to talk to you about Lightning when I am at the hotel. I will call you in about 5 hours.

Chloe woke up to Maverick licking her face. She started laughing. “Ok, ok, I’m up” Chloe said, sitting up, and rubbing him behind his ears. “Want some breakfast?” Maverick wagged his tail. “Ok, come on bud” she said, standing up and heading downstairs. “Good morning” she said to Molly. “Morning. Got Mavericks food ready” she said. “Go on” Chloe said to the dogs and they went over to their food, starting to eat. “I need to do morning feed” Chloe said. “Join me when you’re ready” she said to Molly. She went to the barn and gave the horses their food, watching Lightning as he ate. When he finished, she clipped on his halter and took him to the round pen. Then, she unclipped the lead rope and started him in a circle. She then texted Austin.

That would be nice, but I am going to be getting at least 3 hours of sleep. Maybe later

He then set his phone under his pillow as he laid his head down. Within minutes, Austin was asleep. 3 hours later, Austin woke up to the sound of the cockpit signaling that it was time for him to get up and get ready for landing. It took him a moment to get ready, but within 1o minutes of waking up, he was in the jump seat with Greg and the other two pilots. He reached for his phone and sent Chloe another message.

Just started our descent into HKG. I will let you know when I am at the hotel.

Chloe glanced at her phone. She had given Lighting a break so she could work with him when she FaceTimed Austin later. She texted Austin -just come home already, I miss you- she sent the text and headed to the barn to muck out the stalls. She put Beauty in an empty stall and cleaned out her stall, then she put beauty back and put Athena in another stall. “I can help” Molly said. Chloe nodded, “alright” she said. Molly and Chloe cleaned the stalls and they finished in 30 mins. Chloe looked at her phone. “Nothing from Austin” she said with a sigh. “I promised him I’d do ground training with Lightning on FaceTime, but he had yet to text me that he’s at the hotel” she said with a sigh. “He’ll call you, you know that” Molly said. Chloe nodded. “Ok” she said, heading back to the round pen
