Hearing the phone buzz in his pocket, Austin first made sure that everything was okay before he turned his attention to the phone. He saw the video, but he had the volume down as he was not going to be able to hear it due to his headset. It was then that Austin heard the voice of ATC through his headset.

"United 73, maintain current heading but slow to speed three four zero knots."

"Affirmative, United 73, maintain current heading, slowing down to three four zero knots," Austin repeated as he adjusted the speed gauge on the autopilot before picking up his phone. Beautiful horse. What is her name?

After their ride Chloe drove back home. “Feels good to drive again” she said to Molly. “Now, how about we play a little girl like me?” She looked at Molly. “Uh Duh!” Molly said, laughing as Chloe turned on Girl Like Me. “You’ve never met a girl like me before, never met a girl like, never met a girl like.” Chloe and Molly sang together, laughing. When she pulled into the driveway, she could hear Ellie barking inside. “That’s odd…she never barks” Chloe parked the car and they ran inside. Molly gasped. Chloe almost cried. “Easy Ellie” Chloe said. She grabbed Ellie’s collar and Molly grabbed a rake. She started shooing away the squirrel that was in the house. Molly let out a relaxed breath. “You’re ok ellie” Chloe said, hugging her dog.

Austin was exhausted when he walked up the jet bridge after they had landed at LAX. He was able to sit back and relax this time in the cabin this time on his way back to San Antonio. He stopped at Starbucks and got himself a coffee before heading to his gate. It would be an hour before his flight arrived. So he had some time to message Chloe. Just landed at LAX. Have a little bit of time before my flight back home. I am going to be off for the next week. You can come out and visit the ranch some time if you want. He pressed the send button. He remembered that Chloe had said that she wanted to go out with him. He then messaged her again. I would love to go out with you some time. We can go out to dinner or something. How about tomorrow night? After I get the proper rest from all this flying that I have been doing.

Chloe looked at her phone. She was to concerned about Ellie at that moment to answer but she had to.
Chloe- yea, sure, I’d love too. Where do you want to go?

Chloe rubbed Ellie behind the ears again. “I’m going out to dinner with Austin tomorrow night” she said, Molly looked at her. “Wow, already?” She asked. “I mean..yea…I told you I kissed him.” Molly laughed. “Yea, I know” she said. “So do you wanna take Ellie for a walk?” She asked. “Yea sure” she said. She clipped on Ellie’s leash and let Molly hold it so she could text Austin.
Chloe- taking Ellie on a walk right now, how was the flight to LAX?

Uneventful. Maybe a little bit of turbulence over New Mexico. But other then that, it was peaceful. Did get a little shut eye as my first officer took control of the controls for me. He then pressed send as he sat down at the gate and waited for the plane. He then began texting her again. Yes, one pilot can fall asleep during flight as long as the other is aware of the controlled rest and is ready to take command of the plane. I think i slept for about half an hour. He pressed send again and placed his phone into his pocket as he watched a Boeing 747 taxi by, heading to the cargo area of the airport.

Molly looked at Chloe. “I haven’t seen you for two weeks, would you put your phone down?” She asked. Chloe laughed. “Sorry, I’m texting Austin, let me just send this text and then I promise I’ll put my ohine away” she said.
Chloe- so are you flying the plane this flight or are you a passenger?

Chloe put her phone in her back pocket and took Ellie’s leash from Molly. Chloe turned on some more music and they sang along to them. Then her phone buzzed. “Clo” Molly said. Chloe sighed. “Im sorry!” She said. “Oh, it’s my mom, I gotta call her.” She said. “It’s fine, Clo, go for it” she handed Molly the leash and she called her mom. “Hey mom. Yea, Yea, I’m good.” She said. “Yea the trip was..what?” Chloe stopped. “Oh my god is…is he ok? Do you want me to come over? You sure? Ok, yea, love you too mom. Bye.” She hung up the phone and looked at Molly. “My dad fell” she said. “Oh my god, is he ok?” She asked. Chloe nodded. “I think so” she said. “At least, that’s what my mom says, and of course I trust her, and all, but now I’m worried about my dad.” She said. Molly hugged her. “He’ll be ok Clo.” She said, hugging her again. Chloe texted Austin.
Chloe- just heard from my mom, she said my dad fell

Passenger this time. I am about to hit my limit for flying today. I am already at 9 hours. We are told to stop at about 10 hours. Austin was about to send the message when the next message came in about her father falling. He added to his text. I am sorry about your father. Is there anything I can do? He placed his phone in his pocket as he looked outside again, this time a a United Airlines Airbus A230 was pulling into the ramp. He was not a big fan of Airbus very much. But he did think that the cockpit was a bit sleek. The airbus instead of having yokes like Boeing planes had control sticks on the left and right side of the plane for flying. But he preferred Boeing planes.

Chloe looked at her phone when they were home again. She texted him back
Chloe- no, I’m ok thanks. Have a good flight. Call me when you get home 😁😁

Chloe poured Ellie’s dinner and then she flopped on the couch. “So, what are your plans for tomorrow?” She asked Molly

“Well….I was thinking I’d go out to dinner with my sister” she said.

“Ooo that sounds like fun. You should plan it when I’m on my date with Austin” she said.

“Yea, Clo, I still can’t believe you’re going out with him” she said with a joking laugh.

“I know, I’m so excited” Chloe turned on he tv and she flipped through channels. “How about this” Chloe suggested.

Molly nodded. “Yea ok, I like this. Heartland” she said.

“Same” Chloe said, laughing

Are you sure? I can come over if you need me to take you to the hospital...I should be back in about 3hrs. Or I can take you to your parents He pressed send as he stood up to board the plane back to San Antonio. He found his seat in first class next to the window on the wing and had an amazing view of the wing and engine next to him. He was still in uniform as he sat down in his seat after placing his flight bag in the overhead compartment above him. He checked his phone as one of the flight attendants greeted him.

Chloe glanced at her phone again. “Mols.” Chloe gave Molly her phone.

“What are you gonna tell him?” She asked.

Chloe looked at Molly. “I don’t know, Mols. I don’t know” she said, glancing down at her phone. “I think…I’ll just tell him exactly what my mom told me” she said.

Molly nodded. “Ok” she said.

Chloe took a deep breath. -no, it’s fine, my mom told me not to worry about it
Chloe started crying. “Hey” Molly said, pulling her in for a hug. “I’m sorry, it’s just…I need to see my dad, but…I…I don’t know” Chloe said. Molly looked at her. “Just tell Austin you have to cancel the date” Molly said. “No, Mols, I need this to happen. I’ll just invite him over here” she said. Molly nodded. “Ok” she said.
Chloe- hey, so it would be easier if you came over to my place and we had pizza tomorrow night. Mollys going out to dinner with her sister, so it works out

His phone buzzed just before pushback happened. He then sent her a quick text back. Of course. We can do that. Just send me your address and I can come over. What time? He kept his phone on during taxi so that he could get her message if one was sent before takeoff. But as soon they got onto the runway, Austin shut his phone off after placing it in airplane mode. As the plane roared down the runway, he started a conversation with the guy next to him about flying. Come to find out, he flew Cessna planes as a hobby. Austin explained to him about how he became a pilot for United. The flight back was not as turbulent as he expected it to be since they had a couple of problems on the way out from San Antonio. As they landed 3 hrs later, Austin got off the plane to head to his truck in the crew parking area. He was so exhausted that he wanted to just grab a hotel room for the night to get some sleep. But he felt that he could drive back home since it was only an hour away.

Chloe thought for a min. "What time you going out with Julia?" Chloe asked Molly. Julia, was Mollys older sister. "Around 5:30." she said. Chole nodded. "Ok, so I'll tell Austin to come over for 6." Molly nodded. "And if you want, I can head back and hang out with Julia for a while so you can have some alone time with him." Molly teased. Chloe rolled her eyes. "alright, come back around 10." she said. Molly nodded. Chloe yawned and fell asleep while they where watching Heartland. When she woke up again, it was 10:30. "hey" Molly said. "why don't you go get some sleep." Chloe nodded. "yea, ok...shoot. I forgot to text Austin back." Chloe grabbed her phone and texted him
-Chloe- Hey, does 6 work? sorry, I kinda fell asleep lol

"Night Mols." Chloe said, getting off the couch and heading to her room. "Night Clo" Ellie jumped off the couch and followed Chloe to her room

On the drive home, Austin stopped to pick up some coffee to help keep him awake on his hour long drive back to Fredericksburg. He was so exhausted, mainly from the Paris flight. Every time he came home, he would ask if there was something around the ranch that needed doing. But today, he needed to rest. He finally arrived at Twin Rivers Ranch just in time. His grandfather was just coming out from the barn as he pulled up in front.

"How was your flight?" George Woods asked as Austin opened the back door of his truck to grab his flight bag and suitcase.

"Exhausting. I am ready to crash for the rest of the day," Austin said as she shut the door. He then turned to face his grandfather. "I would ask if there was something to do around here, but I don't think I am able to stay awake any longer. I need to get some rest before I come help Gran with dinner. Have you heard from Lauren?"

"She said she is going to stop by with Lilly tonight for dinner so you can see her. Chad is going to be out late tonight with some colleagues planning the construction of a new building," his grandfather answered. Chad was Lauren's husband who was an architect and designed buildings for companies as mockups. "Why don't you go get some rest before Lauren and Lilly come over. You look like you need it. They will be here about 7."

"Thanks, Pop. Oh, I won't be here for dinner tomorrow night. I know that Dwyane Guismen is coming over to talk about buying some cattle," Austin answered as he pulled the handle of his suitcase up.

"Let me guess, you have another date?" Pop asked, raising a brow.

"Yep. She has not messaged me the time, but I hope to hear something back tonight. I met her on the plane from Paris. She lives in San Antonio," Austin said as he headed towards his place.

"This is the 6th date you have been on this month. When are you going to find a girl who you might wanna settle down with?" Pop called to his grandson.

"When I find the right one!" Austin called back over his shoulder.

After dinner and playing with Lilly, his his 5 year old niece Austin had fallen asleep as he had gotten tired from the jet lag. He woke up around midnight to see that there was a text from Chloe on his phone. He groggily read it and texted back to her. Sorry i did not get your text earlier. My sister and her daughter came over for dinner. 6 tomorrow sounds great. Send me your address and I can meet you.

Chloe snuggled up in her bed with Ellie laying beside her. She woke up around 9 am. Ellie had left her room, and she figured Molly had let her out. She yawned and stretched. Grabbing her towel, she went to her bathroom and took a shower. When she finished, she got dressed into one of her favorite outfits. She left her room and headed for the kitchen. Molly was sitting on the couch reading a book wile Ellie played with a bone on the floor.

“Morning Clo” Molly said.

“Morning” Chloe said, sitting on the couch beside Molly.

“Did you have a good sleep?” She asked. Chloe nodded.

“I gotta text Austin back, hold on” she said, pulling out her phone.

Chloe- 7288 Chainbridge Circle, San Antonio Texas.

“Still seeing Julia tonight?” Chloe asked. Molly nodded. “Yep. Still leaving at 5:30 don’t worry, I’ll be gone before Austin gets here” she said jokingly.

Austin had woken up early the next morning at 5 am to help his grandfather with cutting the last few corn fields that needed to be cut. They had planted the last field of corn late as Austin had been busy with flights during the spring months, and his grandfather sometimes had a bad knee to where Austin had to do things himself. He did not mind at all. Austin planned to take over the ranch when his grandfather felt he was ready. He would have to hire some more hands for when he was busy flying. But that did not matter.

After driving down the field, Austin climbed up into the tractor to get started on the harvesting. He would spend most of the day doing so. But he remembered he needed to be done by three since he had to get ready for his date with Chloe later that night. As soon as he was halfway done with the first field, Austin had received a text from Chloe. He smiled as he texted her back.

Can't really stop to talk much as I am helping my Pop with the last few corn fields that need to be harvested. Will see you at 6. After sending the message, Austin got back to work with the harvesting.
