This rp will start five days before the fire so start from either a hunting trip or laying in the shade
Lwazi
Lwazi would yawn Zuri was being her self trying to annoy the males in the pride she wanted to get a start on hunting with Kalia and the other Lionesses but she needed someone to watch Zuri she couldn't hunt and focus on Zuri at the same time it split her focus and made her clumsy rather then surefooted she got to her paws giving a flick of her tail.
Kalia
Kalia would get to her paws she was a rather new huntress and she was learning a lot from her fellow lionesses she walked over to Lwazi " who is going to babysit Zuri this time maybe not Tvar or Ato they have had a rough day today keeping a eye on a rival pride" said Kalia the older lioness looked at Kalia "I was thinking Suvala she is too old for hunting anyways maybe Zuri will enjoy her stories about our gods and godesses" Lwazi answered she nodded her head
Tvar
Tvar would let out a annoyed roar Lwazi's cub Zuri had just clamped down on his injuried leg he gently swatted at the cub not punishing her but telling her that it had hurt "My such sharp teeth for one so young you will make a fine huntress just like your mom" he said to Zuri his voice had a rumble to it like all male lions did but it was softer like gentle rain upon the savanah grass

Lwazi picked up Zuri gently by her scruff, the cub would soon be old enough to hunt, she then dropped Zuri at Suvala's paws the elderly lioness looked at Lwazi "Can you watch her Suvala I promise I will bring you something special for your trouble" Lwazi said, the elderly lioness opened her mouth "Of course I can Lwazi you go and hunt with Kalia and the others now" Suvala said, she thanked the lioness before walking towards Kalia and the other lionesses, they flicked their tails impatiently as they waited for Aza the hunt leader she was considered the hunting chieftess among there pride for her swiftness and skill in hunting.

Kalia stepped beside Lwazi as they waited for Aza to arrive, it was almost low light by the time Aza arrived "Thank you, ladies, for waiting now let's get to hunting" Aza said, she gave a roar signifying the hunt was about to begin, they left the pride territory fast and went in search of prey like gazelles and zebras, it wasn't long before an elderly zebra mare clearly injured caught Kalia's eyes, she looked at Aza "What do you think easy takedown or should we find something else" Kalia asked Aza who gave a small growl of frustration, "Yes let's take her down Lwazi you take left flank I will take the right flank with Kalia" Aza said, they slowly made their way towards the zebra, they checked the wind before even daring to take the zebra down. Once the signal was given it was a rush of fawn, gold, and pale gold rushing at the zebra their claws leaving wounds on the zebra's hide

Tvar got to his paws he shook his mane and watched Ato look far ahead, they could see a male leopard he wasn't a threat at least not that they could see, "Do you think that's Rogue" he asked Ato the older male lion looked at Tvar, "It could be Rogue he is much smaller than other male leopards" Ato answered Tvar they awaited the lionesses return there bellies rumbled for food.

Lwazi, Aza, and the other older lionesses carried the zebra back to the pride she silently thanked Tvara for a good hunt, she could see the hungry pride members eying up their kill, but first Lwazi had to give Suvala the gift she had caught it was a beautiful feather she carefully dropped it at Suvala's paws, "Thank you Lwazi it is beautiful Zuri is asleep though I think the story I told her might have been a bit boring" said Suvala, she then got slowly to her paws "Your welcome Suvala" she said, as she went to fetch Zuri the cub was tired she didn't even wake when Lwazi picked her up.

Kalia ate her share of the kill quickly it had been so long since she had tasted zebra this was the first large animal hunt she had ever helped in, she licked her paws and mouth getting rid of the salty metallic taste of the zebra's blood it stained her muzzle, but it was worth it for something so good, she saw Ato and Tvar approach the zebra carcass they grabbed a large portion of the meat remaining, Ato and Tvar were nomads but they never wandered far from the Ancient roar pride, she had almost forgotten that Zuri was Ato's daughter as she looked more like Lwazi then her father she had a larger head than most lioness cubs but she was sure it was because she was smart like her mother.

Tvar and Ato started to talk about Rogue he was far smarter than any leopard they knew, " Zuri bit my leg today it didn't hurt but I felt her sharp teeth" Tvar said with a lazy flick of his tufted tail, the two males weren't brothers but they were very close friends, Tvar was too old to go on long patrols and his injuried leg made running hard meaning he could easily be killed by a giraffe's kick if he wasn't careful, they looked over the lionesses of the Ancient roar pride Aza and Suvala were among the oldest lionesses in the pride and would soon leave the pride to live there last days however they wanted.

Lwazi would watch over Zuri she knew she wasn't going to be the next hunting chieftess as there were three other lionesses in the pride that were much more experienced than her, even though her name meant knowledge it didn't mean she was the smartest lioness in the pride she looked back to see her mate Ato striking up a conversation with Tvar about a leopard called Rogue, it was great that they had two males keeping them safe from threats as a long time ago they would have had one male pride leader but times were different now the world they knew was changing and they had to adapt no matter what.

Kalia would fall asleep in the shade next to her older sister Kyri she was one of the lionesses that might become the next hunting chieftess when Aza stepped down from the role, her tail would flick lazily as she started to dream about the day she might become hunting chieftess of course by then Zuri would be a young lioness and maybe a great huntress just like her mother Lwazi, she was related to Aza through her sister Nyari so it was highly likely she would become a future chieftess maybe just as great as Aza one day.

Tvar would continue to talk to Ato before he fell asleep in the shade his tail flicked lazily as he felt Ato fall asleep in the furthest corner from him, he didn't mind of course since he was the weaker male because of his injured leg he had been attacked by hyenas before they had almost killed him if Ato and the Ancient roar pride hadn't come to his aid and saved his life, he was still a nomad who had no pride of his own but as far as he was concerned this was his pride nothing would change that not even the fires that sometimes sweep across the savannahs.

Lwazi would fall asleep her two front paws surrounding her daughter as she slept, the savannah was quiet other than the cry of mothers who had lost their offspring to any number of dangers she could feel their pain as she had almost lost Zuri to a hyena, it was only with the help of Ato and Tvar that they had managed to save Zuri's life, but it came with a cost as Tvar had been injured by one of the hyenas and was unable to hunt for himself, ever since then she had blamed herself for not seeing the hyena that had taken Zuri, even Aza had been shocked as it was unusual for a hyena to even steal a lion cub.

Kalia would dream of herself taking down a massive cape buffalo with Kyri as the hunting chieftess and being impressed that she had killed such a beast, she wasn't a bad huntress but she lacked the experience of Aza, Suvala, Kyri, and Lwazi, and that made her feel she had more to prove to the pride, sure she could jump higher then Kyri and the other huntresses but that only helped if she was needed to leap onto the prey from above, she was proud of herself for helping to take down the zebra but it felt like the easiest thing they could have caught, was there not a huge impala herd to the west of there pride they could have visited to hunt she thought.

Tvar would start to dream of the day he earned his mane, he had received a task from Akimbo his father who told him to bring back as much prey as he could carry, well that was going on Sahira his sister had started her huntress challenge from Mahika their huntress chief who told her to bring back the largest prey she could carry and kill on her own, well he was focused on killing a young zebra he could see Sahira had a large dead zebra in her jaws, how she had managed to kill it on her own was beyond his understanding, he then made his first kill and then went towards the lake where the gazelle normally drank, he killed a large adult and then returned to the pride carrying the two piece of prey in his jaws carefully, stopping often to readjust the larger adult gazelle.

Lwazi would flick her ears as she slept it was much too hot to be active at the moment, this was the time when the pride was most vulnerable as most pride members were either asleep or getting close to falling asleep, she knew Ato and Tvar would watch out for them until they awoke but it wasn't long before the first sign of trouble made it's self known, a young male lion had wandered into there territory he was coming towards Lwazi who quickly woke up "Don't you even think about it stranger...few have tried to kill my cubs but they often end up injured from my claws and jaw" she said, as she rose to her full height her claws were waiting to rake his face or sides but then she stopped smelling a familiar scent "Brother..." Lwazi said.

Kalia was woken by a sharp jab from Kyri's claw "Ow ...what did you do that for I was sleeping" Kalia said, slightly angry that she had been woken up but then she saw that Aza was gone without even speaking to her lioness or offering a goodbye, she could see Lwazi was talking to someone their pale gold fur caught her eye "Lwazi who is that ..he is a stranger here" Kalia said nervous that Lwazi could get hurt by this male intruder, but then she read her posture she knew this lion and wasn't worried about him harming Zuri in any way shape or form.
