''I was thinking that exacting thing,'' Alpha Froedi said, ''I was also thinking that once the boy is indeed secure from the elves we should travel in in a more westward direction since the elves will most likely be thinking that we will be traveling south, back to the clans?'' And which clan will we bring him too?''
Enilair was enthralled in this talk of strategy, his mind reaching back to his many hours of geography lessons. What did not occur to him was how they were to get rid of the ten warriors, whenever that part of the plan came to mind, battle scared Grthmé and the stern violet wolf in front of him took care of everything.

Alistra glanced up at the two Alphas as they began organizing something to do with directions. She could get a vague idea of why they were talking about it, but her mind was firmly fixated on the thought of the elves, the rescue itself, and camouflage. She felt a strange sense of excited fear at the idea of putting her training to the test, her imagination once again seeming to forget that she would not be the only one on the rescue mission.
Alpha Vanorr nodded, his eyes brightening slightly at the wise wolf's idea. "That would certainly be a good move in misdirection, especially if the distraction party and get them to follow after them instead." he added. "Hmmm" he looked thoughtful for a moment, then spoke again "Well, I suppose it quite depends on this human boy's condition once we have rescued him. High Alpha Nolryn requested that we bring the child straight to him, but I can guess that if he has as weak as most, he will be unable to make such a long journey immediately. Perhaps Clan Heille would be open to hosting us and the boy until he is ready to travel?" he suggested, then frowned slightly "Although our clan is closer" he paused. "You and your clan are the strategists, what do you think the best move would be in this situation?" he questioned, knowing fully well that Alpha Froedi often had far better plans than he.

''I think it would be best to bring him to your clan, if you have a healer, since you are the most northward clan we have and would be therefore closer, you are also closer to the alpha than we are, after we are sure of his health then we can bring him to the Alpha,'' Alpha Froedi answered, ''of the guards what do you plan to do with them?''

Vanorr gave a swift nod "That's decided then" he said with relief, then frowned at this slightly touchy question. After thinking for a few moments he slowly replied "As harsh as this may seem, we are at war. And I must point out that the fewer witnesses to our rescue mission the better." he spoke, before hastily adding "But let it not be with malice that we venture forth, for speed and efficiency is our goal. I feel we must do as is best for the missions limited time frame." he said.
Alistra picked her ears up at the question of the guards, listening with eagerness to her Alpha's response, although the thought of killing such an intelligent being caused a slight hesitation in her flaming ambition. But she swiftly shook it off and pushed it to the back of her mind. After all, elves were evil, were they not? So why would mercy be bestowed upon any, especially after all the crimes they had committed and lives they had destroyed over the years?

Enilair winced slightly at alpha Vanorr's answer, he hoped that none of it would come his way, he glanced at the young silver wolf to see what her expression was, it didn't seem to bother her very much.
Alpha Froedi nodded slowly to Vanorr, ''I agree with you,'' her said glancing at the two younger wolves then turned back to the alpha, ''I see that it is necessary. have you heard any new from the healers as to when they will send their Dreki?''

"I am glad we are in accord" Alpha Vanorr spoke quietly, knowing it was a hard subject, then quickly moving on. "Ah, the Dreki... I have not received any information on their arrival, but I am hoping they will have arrived when we return" he responded. "If they have, to either of our clans, I suggest sending them out to both Styrkr and Kvikr clans immediately, as they will need to be prepared. But, before this, we must agree on a day to launch this rescue." he said swiftly.
Alistra caught the blue eyed wolf's glance he threw at her, paused as she tried to think if it was necessary to respond, then looked back to her Alpha with pricked ears as he mentioned figuring out an exact day. She certainly hoped that day would be soon! She knew that preparation and training was necessary... but her young excitement was not easily quelled by such sensible things.

''A day,'' he paused in thought, ''well it has to be soon for we cannot allow them to go too far north, but, as we both well know, it cannot be too soon for we have much training and planning to go through before. Have you a good day in mind?''

Vanorr nodded at this sensible thought process "Precisely... I was perhaps considering in three days time? That would give the dreki time to relay the messages, and also give us time to send a scout to our High Alpha to alert him of developments. As well as the training" he added swiftly.

Froedi nodded slowly in thought then more confidently, ''yes, yes that would work very well,'' he thought for a moment longer, ''about the attack itself, will we make it a raid by night, or will we fight by light of day?''

Vanor attempted to think for a moment "Well, perhaps if it were by night, it would be easier for us to slip amongst the rocks by the light of the moon, rather than the sun." he suggested

''True, but an elf's eyes are not dimmed by darkness, a very important fact that we must remember,'' Froedi glanced at the two younger wolves, ''we will have to rely mainly on stealth and surprise, sometimes one thinks when he cannot see, then he is not seen.''

Vanorr blinked slightly, having almost forgotten the fact himself "Ah, as always you bring my thoughts back to reality" he said with a slight dip of his head "I wonder then, to keep our own senses sharp, we should perhaps attack in the daylight?" he suggested.
Alistra caught the Alpha's glance to her and was mildly annoyed by the fact that he felt the need to address her personally on the matter of stealth. She had trained far too many times with Vaskra to know just how tricky it was to be truly stealthy. She was pacified, however, to see the glance move on to Enilair, and she found herself wondering if he had ever done stealth training.

When Froedi's gaze fell on him Enilair felt a slight panic rise in him, he had done no training of the sort, how was he to pull off this mission. Elilair glanced at Grthmé and he felt the panic subside a bit, he could trust Grthmé and Grthmé would show him everything he needed to know.
''It all depends, you are more the warrior than I am. What do you think the elves would expect,'' Froedi asked.

Vanorr looked thoughtful for a moment as he played out the scenarios in his mind. "During the day, I believe. They would expect us to attack during the night, when they will have settled down and made camp. But if he attack while they are moving during the day, they will be caught off guard far more" he spoke surely.
Alistra listened to this with excitement. Attacking in the day would mean they would have to use their utmost stealth. A slight excited fiery grin slipped onto her muzzle as she imagined the attack, hiding in the bushes and leaping out as the elves marched by...

Alpha Froedi nodded, ''this makes sense, an attack by day, not done very often due to its difficulty to achieve. Good then that is what we shall do.''
Enilair was nodding his head along with his alpha, the idea of a day attack was rather different, generally wolves did their fighting by night. It was a good plan.
