Sugar snuggled close to Artemis as she flopped onto the ground. Her eyes closed instantly and she was soon fast asleep.

Galmúr awoke the next morning to the sun glaring in his eyes. With a disoriented shake of his head he blinked and yawned, glancing around. Then it struck him. They'd done it!!! Even the fact that the sun was already high in the sky didn't dampen his spirits as he nudged Artemis.

Artemis opened her eyes blearily when she felt someone nudge her, she lifted her head, ''what- what's going on,'' then realization struck her, ''we're in! We're in, come on Sugar get up.''

Sugar opened her sleepy eyes and gazed around. “I CAN TALK TO GUS?” She asked, starting to squeal a little as she looked around excitedly. “Please! We’re in the herd. Can I please go talk to Gus??” She begged, as she looked at her two friends.

Galmúr smiled as realization struck both fillies differently, sighing slightly as Sugar immediately asked about the yearling. "I don't know Sugar" he said slowly, glancing at Artemis again. "I don't really remember much about last night, but I think Swan said something about talking to us about our places in the morning?" he suggested. A sudden movement behind him made him jump and he whirled his head around, then relaxed slightly as Shazar walked up to them. "You are correct young colt. Lead Mare Swan would like to speak with you three to make you aware of rules and what will be expected of you" he said gravely.

Artemis glanced up as the stoic horse trotted up. She glanced at Sugar and shrugged before following the horse.

Sugar sighed but followed after her friends. She trembled a little as they made there way to the lead mare and her son. She blinked at him and felt her ears flatten. What if he pushed her out again…?

Galmúr got to his hooves and swiftly followed the stallion, who stopped in front of the lead mare and her son

Stormflash had not woken in a good mood that morning, and it showed in the way his ears were flattened as he followed his mother to the edge of the herd to speak with the new yearlings. And of all the yearlings to make it, of course one had to somehow be his long lost first cousin. He glowered over as the three yearlings began walking towards them.

Swan smiled gently as the three yearlings approached, as always, the young golden buckskin leading them. "I am glad to see you slept well" she said with a slight dip of her head. "Before I begin telling you of how we have assessed your test, how did you find it?" she questioned, a curious tone in her soft commanding voice.

Galmúr swiftly inclined his head to her deeply "Thank you, Lead Mare" he said politely, ignoring the glowering glares shooting from the silver buckskin as he raised his head at her question. "It was the adventure of a lifetime" he spoke honestly "It was harder than I had imagined, but together we never had a true doubt" he said firmly.

Artemis bowed when the approached the white mare, at her question she smiled, a fire flaring up again, ''It was,'' she said backing Galmúr, ''and never will we forget it,'' she said swinging her fiery gaze towards Sugar.

Sugar flattened her ears. But she decided to say something positive. “It was quite challenging” she said. “But it was nothing we can’t handle” she said looking at Galmur and then Artemis. “Oh…uhm…I have a question” she said suddenly.

Galmúr smiled at his two friends, then looked over curiously at Sugar's comment.

Swan looked pleased by their answers, a light smile on her face, which turned slightly to surprise at the bold young filly. Her face now expressionless, she turned her commanding aura to Sugar. "Yes young filly, what is your question?" she asked calmly.

Artemis stared when Sugar made such a bold statement to the lead mare, but said nothing.

Sugar swallowed hard as she stared at the lead mare. She felt her legs begin to tremble. “Oh…Umh…I was wondering if…if I could be apprentice to the herd healer..” she asked glancing at her friends. “I have a passion for herbs…and I’m really good at healing” she said, stepping back a little as she felt the gray yearlings gaze burning into her.

Stormflash glared at the young dapple filly. He remembered her, the one who'd rushed up to the other yearling, Gus. Impetuous. His glare grew even more at her bold request. Who did she think she was to place herself wherever she wanted?

Galmúr's eyes widened at Sugar's request. Wow... that was really bold of her, and he wasn't sure if that had been the right move.

Snow's eyes widened visibly for a moment then hardened "Young filly, it might be good for you to remember your place in this herd, which is a newcomer." she said sternly as she looked down at her. "But, as it would be, as I was going to reveal to you, the scouts returned last night. And with them, came their accounts of your journey. They witnessed your swift mind to help Galmúr, and already I have spoken with the herd healer, and she has agreed to take you as apprentice." she said, although a frown was still upon her face. It was not customary for any newcomer to request their place in the herd. Not at all.

Stormflash's gaze swiftly moved to his mother in disbelief, in in frustration and anger to the yearlings again. Everything seemed to be working for them, everything.

Artemis was very surprised that the lead mare let Sugar off so easy, but she was glad and she knew that Sugar would make a good healer. She shifted a little nervously at Stormflash’s hostile expressions.
