Snowflake, and Ranger helped to drag the longleg to the storage hole. Snowflake, swiftly dug another hole, as the original one was becoming quite full. When they nosed it inside, Snowflake sat down on her back. "alright, we ready to head back?" she asked her hunting party.

Clover looked over at Fang as he tripped. "are you ok?" she asked him, helping him up a little bit.

Duke spat out some of the short hairs from the longleg that had gotten in his mouth, then nodded, now feeling energetic. "Oh definitely! I hope we can get another longleg! But I guess a couple Hoppers would be ok too" he said quickly. Brutus nodded, glancing to Snowflake again before looking away, trying to focus, although with each hunt it got harder and harder for him to focus on the prey.

Fang blushed embarrasedly and nodded quickly "Yep" he said swiftly, speeding up slightly.

Snowflake caught Brutus' glance, and she blushed hard. "you know Bella prefers hoppers" Ranger reminded them. "apparently they're more filling to her now that she has those four energetic pups to feed" he said. At the mention of pups, Snowflake looked over at Brutus, and then away again. "Stop it Snowflake, Stop it!" Snowflake mumbled under her breath. Ranger looked over her. "did you say something?" he asked. Snowflake shook her head. "nope" she said.

Clover nodded and she looked at him. Was it to much to lick him? she wondered

Brutus forced himself not to look back at Snowflake, nodding to Ranger. "Right, so let's go get some!" he said, eager to be in the forest and busy.

Fang continued his swift pace, but he was now feeling quite distracted by the female running beside him. But was it too much to hope for? What if he was just a passing fancy of hers? He'd known females like that. His feelings hardened slightly.

Ranger nodded. "Duke, how about you and I go that way, Brutus, you and Snowflake go that way" he suggested, pointing with his tail towards the left. Snowflake looked down, eyes widening. She was about to be alone...with Brutus. She nodded shakily. "ok" she said.

Clover sighed. Oh what the heck! She leaned forward, and licked Fang's cheek, blushing as she looked down at the ground.

Duke gave an amiable grin at this "Sure Ranner!" he said cheerfully. Brutus, glanced over with a mildly terrified expression before masking it and nodded. "Sure" he said, trying to sound at ease.

Fang almost stopped in his tracks, looking over as he reddened, his mind whirling. All hardening feelings vanished. "I..." he paused, his eyes were soft and vulnerable as he looked at her. "I like you too" he quickly said quietly.

"It's Ranger....DUDE!" Ranger said, rolling his eyes as he and Duke began walking towards the right, looking around for hoppers. Snowflake on the other hand...stood uncertainly, when finally she started walking with Brutus. "So" she said. "we need to catch more hoppers than them" she decided firmly.

Clover blushed hard and smiled as the two walked side by side...this was the first step to them getting closer and becoming mates

Duke looked blank for a moment, 100% believing that's what he'd said. "Duke, not dude. Don't worry, it's an easy mistake" he said patronizingly as he trotted after Ranger.

Brutus was feeling rather tense as he began walking, but at Snowflakes words he looked over, a challenging glint in his eye as he nodded. "Definitely" he said firmly, allowing another rare smile to flash over his muzzle as he relaxed more, beginning to scan the area for any hoppers.

Fang moved closer to Clover as they walked, brushing against her side now and then with his fluffy coat. He had doubts that threatened to surface in his head, but he was feeling too good to let them take over, and the warmth he was feeling extinguished them swiftly... at least for the time being.

Thunder moved confidently through the dark forest, now that he had a target he could at least start in some places he knew Solosa frequented. A moment later he arrived at a large area surrounded by thick bushes, and raised his muzzle to scent the air deeply, moving around just in case she was down wind. He caught a faint scent of her, but it was at least a day old. Without hesitation he moved on. There was a lot of ground to cover, and he wished to return to his family at the fastest possible time.

“Hey…Uhm…Brutus…” Snowflake said. “Can I tell you something?” She asked him, as she looked around for hoppers.

Clover blushed as Fang brushed against her. She flicked her tail against him a little and she leaned forward to nuzzle him.

Brutus gulped slightly at Snowflake's tone and looked over, trying not to look as distracted as he felt. "Of course" he said in a mildly gruff tone.

Fang was 100% distracted, at this point patrolling was basically useless. "Clover... maybe after we finish our patrol we can take a walk, you and I?" he asked softly, knowing in the back of his mind that the patrol was a rather serious business and him being this distracted would not yield good results.

“I…I like you” Snowflake said


Clover smiled. “Oh…Fang…I would love to” she said, with her heart thumping with joy

Brutus's eyes widened in shock, something he didn't show often, and he stopped, hoppers forgotten for the moment. "You do?" he asked, almost incredulously. The most beautiful female in the pack, and she liked him?? How? "I...I..I like you too, a lot!" he finally got out, his normally stoic expression changing with shades of embarrasment and hope.

Fang smiled softly then chuckled "Ok, well I think we should try and focus on patrolling now" he said with a swift glance around.

Snowflake blushed. “You do?” She asked, leaning forward to nuzzle him a little. “Ok. We’ll talk about this later, we need to get Bella her hoppers” she said, as a hopper caught her eye. Snowflake lunged forward and grabbed it, killing it with a bite to the neck. “Got one!” She said through a mouthful of fur.

Clover chuckled. “Ok” she said.

Brutus nodded, his eyes glimmering slightly with unhidden emotion as he looked down into her eyes, then blushed again at her nuzzle, nodding at her sensible words. "Ok... later" he agreed, turning his focus, with difficulty, back to the hopper hunt. As Snowflake lunged forwards he grinned, enjoying watching her take the kill. "Wonderful!" he said, then charged as he heard a rustling in the brush, soon emerging with a large brown one himself. Placing his rabbit on the ground, he motioned for her to do the same "I can carry them by the ears, that way I can carry them, and you can catch them" he suggested.

Snowflake nodded and she looked around again as they walked beside each other. Her ears swiveled a little and she lunged forward, grabbing a hopper, dropping that one, and then racing to get another one. When she killed that one, she picked them up and trotted back to Brutus, dropping them on the ground. “Think we have enough for Bella?” Snowflake asked.
