Visilva was honestly becoming rather frustrated with the two metal weapons in her jaws. For one thing, they tasted of human blood, which was decidedly unsettling. For another, they were giving her some rather nasty sores on the corners of her mouth, and she was beginning to intensely wish she could shift them to a more comfortable position. A little over halfway across the Vail now, the winds were not letting up either, buffeting her this way and that as she attempted to follow their erratic patterns. She was having to climb higher and higher to keep with the more south western winds, as they were the swiftest to travel on. As she fought for speed, her mind began to tire, and began to do devilish things to her with some frustrating thoughts. What if I just loosened my jaw a bit, to get the katanas to slide forward on my teeth so I could hold them there instead? she wondered to herself, then realized that she was now having to force herself to keep her jaw closed. She gave a sudden growl of frustration as a north wind buffeted her off course... and opened her jaw. It seemed to happen in slow motion, as the two dark weapons were suddenly whisked from her mouth, and began plunging downwards. She gave a roar of alarm and pinned her wings, plunging after them as fast as she could, and sending a quick prayer of thanks for her acute night vision. For without such a gift, she would certainly not be able to keep her targetting gaze locked on the spinning dark blades.

Harrow listened to this, ''that is a great idea,'' he said enthusiastically, ''and since you are most obviously braver than I, you shall be the one with the pear on his head... or whatever it was you said.''
Serhan continued to police the white scales, he could practically see his face in them already, and he knew he would see it if it had been brighter. He blew a sigh of relief when the dragon fell asleep and pretty soon he had finished. After clearing everything away he left the stall as quietly as he could and locked the door behind him.

Arrow nodded, a grin spreading on his face. “A grape it shall be.”, he confirmed. “And now, younger brother, where shall we get dumpkins?”

Sorgen sat in Regens stall, questioning his sanity and the existence of his mind. Regen was getting VERY tired of his goings on. “There is really no need for him to be such a stress pillow.”, she thought to herself, her tail swaying this way and that in a figure eight pattern. “He’s just going to make it worse.” She looked out over her stall to see if there was anyone to have interesting conversation with at the moment. The enemy shadow dragon was absent, Regen thought happily ( although she secretly thought it was fun to insult the older dragon) across from her was the white petal dragon, sleeping, the stable boy exiting her stall with cleaning things. Regen did not carry any affection or respect for this vain dragon, who didn’t even enjoy using her powers, but at the moment there really wasn’t really anyone else who seemed interested. Not that the petal dragon was any more willing than the rest of them, but Regen had selected her as her target. “I know you are not sleeping,”, she hissed over, “so cut the act.” Whether or not Leilani was sleeping she was not sure, but it was worth a try. “She glanced back at Sorgen, who had dosed off, his head on her tail. Regen shook it out from under his head and tried again, this time using threats . “Your mouth is beginning to open and I can see green.”

Crimson dashed around rocks and between trees, zigzagging now this way then that, and at times stopping for a few seconds. His breath was coming heavier now, and his pace had slowed noticeably. A few hours had to have passed, but he was still towards the enemy side of the Vail. He took up a run again, his eyes set on a tree a distance away. This was going to take a while, but he was convinced that it would work, it had to. The thought of revenge sped him up a bit before his breath shortened again. This was not a good situation.

Elexian walked briskly past the stables but this time he actually looked at the dragons he passed. He saw the sleeping petal dragon of....what was her name again? Ah it didn't matter, she seemed to be sleeping. An electric, no, the electric dragon seemed to be trying to play with her. Hm they'd figure it out he supposed. He continued walking and passed by a stable boy who had just finished shelving a few grooming items. He nodded to the boy before exiting the stables and entering the barracks, passing a few low lying bed he finally reached his. The wooden bed creaked as he sat down upon the mattress. After unlacing his boots he removed them and threw them beneath his bed. He laid down with a contented sigh and maneuvered his body as comfortable as he could get on the thin mattres. Soon he fell asleep to the lull of the other men's snoring, he hadn't even bothering to pull up the skimpy blankets.

Leilani kept her eyes shut as she heard the boy get up and leave, relaxing and letting herself begin to actually doze off... until she heard a voice that irked her to her core. That electric dragon. If she just ignored it, it would probably think she was asleep. Which she almost was. But she totally blew her cover at the other's comment, jerking her head up and snapping her jaws shut with a look of horror... until she realized that the threat was completely false. She growled slightly and looked over with a queenly icy death stare to the electric dragon. "Shut your mud nose, I'm resting" she snapped.

Visilva could hear the wind shrieking past her as she dove, the two spinning blades whirling in crazy patterns with the wind gusts. She had to catch them! Imagine what would happen if she had to go fly back to Crimson, and tell him the only evidence of his rider's disappearance was gone! And lost by none other than she, one who had been at the Nest for so many years! With a fiery growl she pushed herself even faster, unaware of the dark smog that was drifting from her jaws, curling upwards in billows of inky blackness, and blotting out the moon above her. The movement of the blades called her onwards and she gave a mighty thrust of her wings, catapulting herself down. Below the dark forms of the mountain ridge were rising up... and fast. And then suddenly one of the blades was born up on an updraft, hovering for a few moments. It was so close! With an extra surge she reached down, jaws widening, and then she clamped down on the metal. The grating feel of the hard blade between her teeth told her she had succeeded in at least half her mission. But the other blade was still plunging on its death spiral to the earth.

Harrow eyed him quizzically, ''little brother, I had thought that you had grown out of the babbling stage of toddlers, you really have to work on that more,'' he said as he walked toward the mass hall and kitchens. ''Wait shouldn't we be going to sleep?''

Arrow leaned against the wall of the mess hall. "Of course its time for bed, its as dark as candle wicks out here! Which is exactly why this is the best time for practicing not to shoot each other."

Regen's eyes changed into a triumphant tropical turquoise color. Her strategy had worked! She let out a scornful zapping sound. "And so you were! Is there much else you did today, except getting dusted?", she asked slyly, forcing her tail to calm down and trying to look innocent, failing miserably. Sorgen stirred in his sleep and Regen stroked his head quickly, trying to ensure he would stay asleep. "As you can see, I am busy watching my human.", she said importantly.

Crimson continued racing through the thick wooded mountain bases of the Vail, his determination still inexhausted, although his mind started numbing up. He glanced around the trees, keeping watch for anything in general. As he passed through a dark wooded valley that lay between one particularly large mountain and one particularly sandy mountain, his consciousness reminded him that there should be a small creek passing through somewhere in this area. His eyes flicked about looking for the presumably small landmark. He began to think he had passed it already when some clouds moved and the moonlight shone vividly into scattered patches of land, making the ground look like jagged torn pieces of dilapidated and dirty cloth. Somewhere between several dark patches gleamed a somewhat sparkling area, which Crimson made out to be the creek he had been looking for. Sure enough, it was the correct one, which grimmed Crimsons mood somewhat. He had thought that he should have passed it already. After a short drink and a few moments brake, he continued on his way.

Harrow tilted his head in thought, “hmm, that is a very valid point,” he agreed philosophically, “anyway let’s go get that gooseberry you were talking about.” Quietly he entered the kitchen, there were still a few cooks about him preparing for the morrows breakfast, so he made sure to stay in the shadows as he made his way to the cubbards which he knew contained fruit.

Leilani gave an angry growl at the electric dragon's saucy tone, and the horrifying mention of the... mishap.. earlier. "I have been following my rider's instructions to the letter today, we have spent much bonding time together" She hissed in anger, her tail tapping in light annoyance at being forced to talk to such RABBLE. "Unless you wish to be silenced forcibly, I suggest you shut your jaws and sleep" she added with a warning growl. It was night, and at this point she was tired and feeling irritable.

Alalëa strode swiftly down the path as the cooler night breezes began brushing past her, hurrying her to greater speed as the thought of the warm cot behind her becoming quite the enticing thought. The dark building loomed up after a few moments, the moon shifting from behind the clouds to lend its light. Not slowing her steps, she moved down the hall, glancing briefly at the dragons, most of whom were sleeping, as they should. As she drew nearer to her destination, she began peering through the darkness in hopes of seeing the large form of the midnight blue dragon.... but she could not tell if she was there or not. In a few moments she reached the stall door, and stood, giving a quick intake of breath as she saw the empty stall. Oh no. "Visilva?" she whispered, peering at the shadows. "Visilva, if you're in the shadows you come out immediately or I will not open this door until afternoon tomorrow" she threatened in a low tone. Still no movement appeared from the flat shadows. She shifted on her feet, waiting. One minute went by... Two.... no way could Visilva stay that still with such a threat for that long! Which had to mean... she was gone. Her brow furrowed in worry and she turned from the stall, beginning to look around futilely. But she knew it was of no use. If that shadow dragon had gotten out, she'd be flying free somewhere, having the time of her life in her element of darkness. She gave another sigh. Well there went any hopes of a solid deep sleep tonight, she thought with rue as she slowly began heading back towards the barracks.
