Osaraka contemplated what Nala had said a moment. "I suppose, if you really wanted to, we could become... friends. But I would have to stay hidden somewhere, not in your den. If the other lions find me their first and natural response will be to kill me. I trust you too, I don't know why, but I think I do. I don't think I hate you either.", she twitched her tail nervously, then forced it to the ground. "Yes, I think it would be nice, to have a friend."

Nala smiled. “I can find you a place if you want me to” Nala said. “And I won’t tell them we’re friends” she promised. “Just a small warning.” Nala said. “Don’t try to push their prey away again, or…samba will come after you” Nala said. “I promise, I’ll do everything I can to stop that from happening.” Nala said. “Did…did you have any siblings?” Nala suddenly asked.

Osaraka thought a while. “I don’t know.”,she finally said.”My mother never spoke of any…but I suppose maybe she had some at some point. I really didn’t push the family subject much as a cub, as it made my father angry…. I will live under the rock near the creek embankment for a while, maybe, but I’m sure if the other lions find out, they’ll take their revenge, so keep your guard up, and I’ll keep mine.” She sat silently a while, thinking. “I hate Simba.”, she finally said.”I really do, because of my mother, but if it is your wish, I won’t harm him, don’t worry. Just don’t betray me, and I’ll stay close by you, and won’t betray you for as long as you want me to. Do you have any living relations?”

Nala smiled. “You have my word” Nala promised. “How about we go on a hunt together tomorrow” Nala said. “Or later today.” She said. “I know when the pride rests” she said. “So when they’re sleeping, we’ll have the best chance to hunt together” Nala said. Then she shook her head. “No….at least, from what I know” Nala said.

Osaraka thought on Nalas suggestion of hunting together. “I think it is worth a try, though I cannot promise it will be very successful, as I haven’t hunted with somebody else for a long time now, since I’m generally alone. I think later today might be a good idea, all I managed to get today was a stork.” At this, a sort of dry laughter escaped her throat, and she found her laugh interesting to listen to, for she hadn’t heard it herself in a long time. She startled slightly as she heard someone’s footsteps outside. “It might be a good idea if I hide right now,”,she suggested hurriedly, looking around her, then giving Nala a smile. Meet me at the rock whenever it is safe.” And with that, she slipped out, careful not to run into whoever was approaching

Nala nodded, and poked her head out of the cave. “Lurk through the grass” she said as Osaraka left her cave. “It’s Simba. Be quiet.” She hissed low, as she watched her new friend walk away. Simba looked at Nala. “Nala” Simba said. Nala looked at him. “Hi Simba” she said. “I smelled the tiger near by” he growled. Nala looked surprised. “Oh?” She said. “Well the tiger isn’t here” she said, Simba nodded and walked away

Osaraka fled to the safe rock, taking care to keep out of Simbas way. She got into the shadow of the rock and lay quietly, watching a bird drink from the creek. It was so happy, so innocent, that Osaraka didn’t even feel the desire to eat it. She watched it fly off, then thought about what had just happened. Inside she was quivering. She had made her very first friend ever. She knew there was somebody on this earth who cared about whether or not something happened to her, wether or not she was alright. She then thought that to be worthy of such a friend, she had to be a good friend, a trustworthy one, and she felt a sense of responsibility come over her. She had not had any friends in her life, but she would give her best attempt at being one, or die trying, her mind told her.

Nala waited until Simba disappeared before she raced to the stream. She looked around. “Osaraka?” Nala called, looking around for her friend, but unable to spot her. She trotted over to the stream and took a drink, then looked around again.

Osaraka stepped from out of the shadow that she had been lying in. Apparently sometimes her camouflage in the shadows worked too well sometimes. “I’m here.”,she said quietly. “Is he gone?”

Nala nodded. “He said he scented you, but I acted stupid” she said, joking a bit. “They should be on rest now, if you want to find something to eat” Nala said, as she padded closer to Osaraka. “I’ve never had a friend before.” She said, “but I know that being a friend means helping each other.” Nala said, with a smile.

Osaraka attempted at mimicking a smile, though she was not very good at it yet. “I think it would be a good idea.”, she agreed,”but if he scented me, I’ve got to be really careful. I’ve never had a friend, either, but I think it is a wonderful feeling! Off we go then, what is your favorite thing to hunt?”, she asked, sounding somewhat cheerful for the first time since their meeting.

“Buffalo” Nala said, as she scented the air. “I’m also the best at hunting them as well.” She said. “We just need to creep through the tall grass first, and they will never see you!” She added with a smirk. “Follow me” Nala said, as she began racing through the tall grasses.

Osaraka started close behind Nala, taking care to stick to the shadows, but as Nala entered more open plains, she ran right beside Nala, making sure not to come close enough to run into her, but keeping just enough distance to look almost like her shadow, barely visible against the high grass.

Nala looked around. “There!” She said. “Do you see the weakest?” She asked, as she let out a low growl and lowered herself to the ground. “Now, when hunting Buffalo, you need to be careful they don’t attack you” Nala pointed out as she crept to the weakest Buffalo. “Ok Osaraka” Nala said. “When I hiss, we attack” she said, flicking her tail as they crept closer. Finally, Nala let out a hiss, and sped up, leaping for the Buffalo.

Osaraka followed Nalas example, sprinting really close to the buffalo, then attacking it from the side. The buffalo bellow and attempted at getting away, yet it’s fleeing tactics were useless against the team of two.
