Maple smiled and watched the kit get lead away by Clover. When the kit flopped down onto the nest, she began trembling again. "Snowflurry..." she said, looking at Clover. "Snowflurry.....is....scared" Snowflurry said, slinking down into the nest, and crouching there, her eyes wide with fear, as she looked around the barn.

Juhi padded through the territory. Her chest wound opened up again, just a bit, but she didn't even notice. She couldn't feel it. For now, she just wanted the brook, the cool water streaming through her fur. She reached it quickly, letting out a satisfied sigh as she settled into a shallow portion. Her wounds only bled a bit. She disregarded her previous warning to Clover and Maple about this part of the woods, brushing aside the thoughts of dogs, foxes, and hawks. Who cared? The water felt lovely.

Clover looked at the tiny kit sympathetically, "Why are you scared, Snowflurry?" She asked softly, "Would you like some prey? We can hunt some for you." Quickly, Clover turned to Maple, adding, "Why don't you go find Juhi, i'm pretty sure she thinks she's immune to death. She looked back at the kitten, offering a mouse to her.

Snowflurry's ears pricked. "mouse?" she asked, sniffing it carefully. She leaned forward and picked the mouse up in her tiny jaws, beginning to eat it from where she crouched. When she finished, she looked around and then back at Clover. "I...I'm five moons old" Snowflurry mumbled as Clover padded into the nest and lay down beside her. Snowflurry scrambled over to Clover's side, her tiny body trembling as she curled up beside her

Maple nodded. "sure" Maple said, padding out of the barn

Juhi didn't do much but lay in the water. In the summer,this was one of her favorite things besides treehunting. Sh flicked her tail absentmindedly. She did not scent any predators. Or hear any. Was she in her right mind though? She saw a flash of orange in the corner of her vision. It looked like a scrawny fox. Probably nothing. She dismissed the thought.

Clover flicked her ear, curling around the kit. "You're small for your age." She observed, "I'm only nine moons old, and i'm much larger than you. Do you have a home, a mother or father, littermates perhaps? Or are you alone." She wrapped her tail around the kit's form, fluffing it up to give Snowflurry more cover.

Snowflurry trembled a bit. "I...I haven't eaten anything since my mother abandoned me when I was three moons old" Snowflurry said. "She left me...because I was the smallest of her litter. She thought I wasn't worth trying to be a mother to" she said, letting out a little wail as she pressed into Clover. "Clover..." she said suddenly. "will you be my big sister?" she asked her. "I feel safe with you" Snowflurry muttered a bit as she lay down, and finally stopped trembling.

Maple sniffed the air and picked up her friends scent. She followed it into the woods, and towards the stream. Following the stream for a bit longer, she found Juhi laying in the shallow end of the stream. Letting out a fake growl to scare her...which never worked, so Maple just padded out of the shadows and towards Juhi. "there you are!" She purred softly

Clover frowned, her expression somber. "Of course Snowflurry. Of course I will be." She nudged the little kit, "Did you have many littermates? Did she leave you nearby?" She questioned, "Perhaps I could find your littermates. Juhi, the cat that scared you- she's truly very nice, I promise- would make sure that your mother was no longer an issue. She helped me with my parents. They weren't the nicest either."

Juhi pricked her ears up at Maple's voice. It must have been her pelt she'd seen. Yes, that made sense. "Hello." She said simply, smiling, "I can't help but wonder if Clover was overreacting, my chest isn't that bad." She said with a sniff.

Snoflurry nodded. "I have three littermates." she said. "Two sisters, and a brother. My mothers name is Sky, my fathers name is Cloud. And then my sisters are Snowball and Reign" she said. "And then my mother named my brother Flurry" she growled. "she took the last part of my name and named my brother Flurry!" she said, growling again. She began trembling again as she pressed into Clover. "She dropped me in the deep end of a stream...hoping I would drown" Snowflurry said, with a whine.

Maple let out a purr. "well...." she said, looking at her friends chest.

Clover nodded, "Would you like to see your littermates again?" She asked the kit, weighing the situation. Juhi would in no way let Sky go without any repercussions when she heard Snowflurry's story. "Since you have to share half of your name with your brother- would you like me to just call you 'Snow,' or no?"

Juhi rolled her eyes, "Not you too!" She grumbled, fussing over me like a couple queens. Total rooster behavior." She added with a pointed look.

"I'd like that" Snowflurry said. "But...What if my siblings don't want to see me again?" she mumbled. "what if my mother tries to hurt me?" she said, pressing closer to Clover. She soon started trembling again. "I haven't had a good sleep in moons." she mumbled. "can I take a nap?" Snowflurry asked, as she lay down beside Clover, she could feel Clover start to purr to make Snowflurry feel more safe beside her.

"I'm just kidding" Maple purred. "Your chest honestly doesn't look that bad at all" she said, licking her friends ears. "oh, Snowflurry is getting settled in with Clover" she said. "I think those two will become good friends" she said

Clover gave Snowflurry a reassuring lick. "I'm sure your littermates would love to see you again. Juhi would rather go insane than let your mother hurt you. She gets crazy overprotective." She purred, "Go to sleep little one, we'll keep you safe."

Juhi let out a small laugh, "I'm sure they will- but look at you- paw-deep in a stream. I'm surprised you aren't shrieking. I thought you hated water." She teased. "Last time I came to swim, you said I was as bad as a dog." She giggled. Her thoughts drifted back to the little kit. "I didn't scare her too bad, did I?" She asked, "How'd she end up here anyways?"

Maple let out a morrow of laughter. "I suppose the water does feel good...at times" She admitted. "No, she's fine now." Maple said. "I don't actually know, maybe we should head back and see if Clover learned anything about her" Maple suggested, as she climbed out of the water, and suddenly began hissing with anger. "UGH! WET WET WET!" She said, shaking herself off and splattering water all over her best friend.

Snowflurry snuggled up beside Clover, her eyes fluttering closed and she fell asleep beside the older cat, finally feeling safe for the first time in moons.

Juhi cackled at Maple's irritation. "I thought water feels nice at times?" She purred, trying to seem innocent. She stood, stretched, and padded out of the water. When she was right next to her friend, she shook out her pelt, spattering water all over Maple again. "I quite like it." She purred, padding in the direction of the barn at a brisk pace for being wounded.

"HEY!" Maple growled playfully, hissing at her friend as they padded back to the barn. When they got inside, Maple purred softly. Clover was laying with her tail curled around Snowflurry, who was sleeping peacefully at the crook of Clover's belly. "Awww" Maple said, purring. "how is she doing?" she asked

Clover looked up at the two approaching cats. "She's doing okay." She said quietly, lowering her voice as to not wake the kit. "I thought she'd be younger, but she's five moons old- and she's so so small for her age." She whispered, "She was abandoned by her mother for being the runt, but she'd like to see her littermates again. Juhi- I may have volunteered you to help. She's rather scared of her mother- says she's named Sky."

Juhi nodded thoughtfully, listening.

Clover's gaze dropped to Juhi's chest and she loosed a purr, "It looks much better than earlier, now that it's clean." She murmured, smiling. "Goldfinch taught me a bit about healing, but I kinda freaked out. There was more blood than I expected."

As Snowflurry heard her mothers name, she slunk farther by Clover. "my mother?" she mumbled. "where?" she asked, as her eyes opened, and she looked around wildly. Maple padded over to her and licked her head. "Your mothers not here darling" Maple promised. "Clover was just telling us a little bit about you" she promised, as she licked the kits head again. Snowflurry let out a sigh of relief, but remained snuggling against Clover. She was pressing into her...quite hard, her trembling wouldn't stop.
