When he sees the large, metal beast come to a stop, Tempest slows down, so that he could watch, and see what was happening. It seemed that this human needed something, so he had stopped at such a strange place, that smelled just as foul as the beast. When the human gets out of the car, walking towards a building, and disappearing inside, Tempest slowly, and quietly, makes his move. Walking up to the beast, he could see that it had gone completely silent. He couldn't say anything, on the off chance that it got him unwanted attention. Looking at the spot, where he had seen her enter, he begins to fumble and wiggle it with his noise. It takes him a few tries, before eventually opening up. "Ember?" He asks, as he starts to push the door more and more, until he could see her huddled in the corner. I'm here. Can you get out? We have to hurry." He says.

Ember scenting the air through the vent again, but the fumes were so strong she could hardly smell anything but it. But she could hear. She heard the Man's footsteps fade, and then she heard soft hoofbeats approach, or at least she thought she did. Suddenly rattling sounded from behind her, and she twisted her head around to see, her nerves tensing in automatic fear. Was that Tempest? or another human? Suddenly the door swung open, and she let out an almost cry of relief as she saw the stallion standing in the opening. "Tempest!" she said, then tried backing up, strongly pulling on the rope... but it held. "I don't know, I thought it was tied loosely but I can't get it apart!" she said, pulling hard again and straining against the rope.

Looking at the rope, Tempest could see, that while it was weak, she would need some help. Looking around, to make sure that he was in the clear, he steps into the beast, hating how it smelled and how confined it was. Stopping right in front of her, he stretches his neck, so that he could chew on the rope. It took a bit of time, and some racing nerves, before he was able to chew through the rope, separating her from the beast. "Let's go, Ember. We have to go now," He says, as he walks through the beast, and back outside again. He looks back at her, gesturing to her, with his head, for her to follow suit. He would then guide her away from this place, into the wild, and then gradually back to his home. he lived alone, but he could handle having a travel companion.

Ember pulled desperately on the rope, only stilling as she heard him move up to her, swiftly chewing through the rope with sharp grinding teeth. As soon as it was done she leapt back, swiftly limping after him outside of the hated trailer, breathing in her first breath of freedom. She was not being lead by a human. No human was even around. She was free. Could she truly be free? "I'm coming, I will go as fast as I can for as long as I can she said sincerely. And then suddenly a shout came from the building behind them, and the door swung open, and the Man leapt out. "GIT BACK HERE MARE!" He yelled in rage, then his eyes widened at the gleaming dark bay stallion standing beside his mare. Now THAT was a prize! If only he could get it somehow! Ember spun and let out a whinny of fear at the sight of the hated man. "Tempest!" she called, beginning to scramble backwards, trying to find her footing, and yet not able to make herself turn from the sight of the Man.

Glaring at the human, Tempest could tell, by the way that that human was looking at him, that he was just like every other wrangler, that he had encountered in his life. Looking at Ember, he begins to nudge her, until she was cantering away. Looking back at the human, he gives a loud snort, before taking off after her. He wasn't going to get caught by that human, nor was he going to let Ember be taken away. He could hear loud screams and curses, knowing that that human would've loved to capture him, and sell him to the highest bidder. He had a feeling that what was running through that human's mind....was that he would get way more money from him, than from the mare that he was trying to sell. "Keep going, Ember. And don't look back. Keep running straight. Head for the trees," He says. He wasn't sure if the human was pursuing them or not, give the big beast, that he was lugging behind him. If he couldn't move fast while carrying a horse, it was probably still hard to maneuver, even without one.

Ember finally found her hooves as Tempest shoved her away from the Man, leaping forwards and managing to thrust herself into an awkward hobbling canter, her heart beating hard with adrenaline, fear, and definitely fearful excitement. Could she dare to hope that she was really free? She could hear Tempest's hoofbeats thundering behind her, staying at her pace. She knew he could go faster... but he was waiting for her. Keepign watch over her. Hearing his words she attempted to go faster. She had no intention of looking back. Never again did she want to see that human. Her ears pinned as she heard him yelling at them, but she ignored it. For once, his threats could mean nothing. Never again could he touch her. And so she limped forwards, her gaze set on the horizon ahead. Freedom was in the air. She didn't even hear the threats of the man suddenly cut off as he raced back to his truck, nor did she hear the distant rumble as it started up, the Man driving crazily as he attempted to follow the road in their direction, his money hungry gaze set on the stallion, in a mixture of anger and greed. He would have that shining beast! He would have it!

Unlike Ember, Tempest occasionally glances behind him, to see what that human was doing. At this point, he had a feeling, that this human completely forgot about the mare, that he had. Now, that he was in this human's sights, he had a feeling, that he saw something far more valuable.....a large stallion, that was full of confidence, was healthy, and unmarred by fear. He could see the way that he was starting up the large, metal beast. But they were now on land, that a large metal beast was unable to touch. He was keeping at a pace, that ensured that he would stay with Ember. He could run much faster, but he knew that his new friend was hurt, marred by injury, so he would keep pace with her, to make sure that she was safe. "In those trees, just keep going. We'll reach a small river soon. And be prepared for some elevation," He says.

Ember heaved in a breath as she tried to keep going at the fast pace, her leg beginning to ache, and the rest of her legs beginning to tremble. She hadn't run like this in at least a month. She'd hardly been able to move for much of that time. But she knew that Tempest needed her to run, to get to the trees. Then maybe she could rest. Setting her gaze with determination on the green forest, she pushed herself faster, her head bobbing with the effort of limping while she cantered. At Tempest's voice she flicked an ear to show that she had heard him, not wanting to look back still. A river... water! She was so thirsty! With a new goal driving her, she was able to gather more speed. Until a huge crashing sound echoed into the air, and she almost tripped as she turned her head. The Man had been frantically driving along the road, one hand on the wheel, the other fumbling for the extra rope he'd tossed into his truck that morning. Where was that blasted rope? He turned his head for a moment to look for it, and that was the moment the truck careened off from it's side, and smashed into a huge semi truck, the impact making the empty trailer fly into the air before crashing back down on it's side, having pulled the truck with it slightly. The truck lay on it's side, wheels spinning slightly. The chase was, undoubtedly over.

Hearing the loud crash from behind them, Tempest looks over his shoulder, noticing that the large metal beast....was now on its side. That would take a long time for that human to fix, since those metal creatures seemed to be quite cumbersome, and couldn't get up on their own. With them now being in the clear, he returns his attention to Ember, as they start to canter up the hill. He picks up the pace, but only by a little bit, until he was running right beside her, keeping pace with her. "Stay with me, Ember. Make sure that I am always in your sight. We're going into the trees, which are a bit thick. Use your ears and your nose. Your eyes are best in the open, but in a place like this, you need to be able to trust your other senses, to help you navigate. Whether it is to pick up familiar smells, or if you hear something unfamiliar. I will show you how to use them properly but take a moment to get used to the idea, of relying on them. They are your best survival tools out here," He says.

Ember strained herself harder as the hill came, her limp becoming more prominent as she thrust herself up the slant. Suddenly Tempest was beside her, and she flicked her ears over to him, daring a swift glance, her eyes slightly bewildered at the suddeness. She was free... and so lost suddenly!! There were no paths to follow, there was no human to guide her! All she had was Tempest, and apparently some instinct that was deep inside her, hidden away by domestication. Could she truly unlock it? Shaking away her sudden unthought of doubts, she focused on his words and nodded breathlessly. "I understand... I'll try" she said truthfully. Ears and nose.... rely on them. She got it. She hoped. The trees were looming up ever closer... a new challenge, and she already feeling incredibly tired from malnutrition and lost muscle.

Noticing the strain in Ember's pace, Tempest adjusts his running, so that he would be able to stay with her and help her stay on her feet. "We're almost there, Ember. Just keep going a little longer. We'll be at the river soon. Can you hear it?" He asks, looking over at her. He had helped her up the slight incline, so that it wouldn't be too much overexertion, just to fight gravity. He knew that she would be trying her best out here, since this was something that she was completely unfamiliar with. He would really have to go back to the bare basics with her, in order to help her survive. Most thought that it was the predators that made it hard. While they were a problem at times, there were even bigger concerns to worry about, from food and water, to recognizing familiar landmarks, and of course.....there were also humans. They didn't come after them to kill them. But rather, they took them, to tame the, and that was cruel in his eyes.

Ember was relieved to be able to lean on him slightly to overcome the hill, her breathing heavy. At his question, she pricked hr ears, then a slight smile flashed onto her muzzle and she nodded "I do!" she finally got out, a breathless two words that bespoke the hopes and fears that lingered. The sound of rushing water almost filled her mind the moment she heard it, her mouth as dry as a sandy dune. Water. That thought was so miraculous. She surged forwards, pressing herself faster as she followed her ears, tripping slightly in the underbrush she was unused to, but finding her feet and continuing forwards.

Nodding, Tempest pushes her more and more, making sure that she stayed on her feet. He knew that going over uneven, unfamiliar ground....was bound to be hard on her. She was used to having a completely barren place to walk around. Here.....there were twigs, roots, stones, and small holes in the ground. He kept gently nudging her shoulder, as they ran, to navigate her through the landscape. Where they were going, was completely inaccessible for those large, metal beasts, so they would be fine, long gone. Her human would not be able to get in here, short of walking on foot, and trying to lead her back without a horse. When they reach the opening of the trees, he looks over at her, pride in his eyes at her ability to get here, and pride in his home, when she sees the large, expansive river in front of her. "Here we are, Ember. The largest river in my homeland. More water than you could ever drink," He says.

Ember could feel Tempest gently guiding her through the lands he knew so well, and it made her feel so safe to know he was there, looking out for her. Even though this was so foreign to her, despite the fact that she could hardly move over the landscape without tripping, she didn't have to do it alone. And so, stumbling and tripping embarrassingly frequently, her breath getting harder and heavier, she forged onwards. Until suddenly, they burst through the opening in the trees, and she slid to a halt, limping slightly as she slowed, an ache filling her leg, but it was ignored. Her eyes were set on the most miraculous sight she had ever seen. The crystal clear water gushed and bubbled, swirled and rushed, slow and fast, and always so continuous. It would never end, could never end. Recognizing that Tempest was talking to her, she turned, eyes shining with the joy and awe she was feeling. "Oh Tempest!! It's the most beautiful sight i've ever seen!!" she said in an almost tearful voice, turning her gaze back to the water. "Can I..?" she asked, trailing off slightly and looking at it with such longing, and yet still unused to being able to do anything without needing someones permission.

Looking at Ember, with some amusement twinkling in his eyes, Tempest gently nudges Ember forward, towards the river. "You don't need to ask for permission for a basic need. Out here, the world is yours. You are free to do whatever you want. I'll explain to you the rules about a few things, to help keep you safe. But when it comes to things like food and water, those rules don't apply. We all need food and water to survive, and every animal out here, knows " He says. He nudges her again, gently, before he begins to walk down the bank, to the riverside. "Come with me. I'm sure that you could use a drink. If that human gave you any water, at any point when you were staying with him, you'll find that this water is so much better. It is clean and probably doesn't taste like the container it came from," He says, as he takes a few steps into the water, before looking back at Ember, to encourage her. This was new for her, and he knew that she had a lot to learn, to feel comfortable out here.
