Sunrise would help the best she could to help treat Nighthawk's wounds but she was getting worried about Ridge, it had been hours since she last saw the grey stallion was he okay she thought as she looked at Mavis, she could not help but feel jealous of Mavis the daughter of the herd overstallion and the herd lead mare and the most precious mare in the herd, but she pushed her envy of Mavis aside as Nighthawk was more important right now he was really hurt, she could see that Onyx was very remorseful over what though leaving Nighthawk and this Alvaron behind or was it something else like in her past before she joined the herd Sunrise wondered, as she went back to patching some of Nighthawk's wounds well trying to avoid making eye contact with Mavis.

Sunrise was suprised when Onyx spoke up about her past, "I was just a filly when I first felt cold walker hands on me they had been so kind and gentle and spoke to me so calmly as they put these objects on me called tack, it was all fine until I got a little older and then they just changed there hands were no longer the same they were rough and vicious, I would feel blood run down my coat on a daily basis I was so glad to leave that place when you guys found me ...I never should have left Nighthawk alone with them" Onyx said as she lowered her head to nudge Nighthawk, regret burned in her eyes like she blamed herself for Nighthawk's current state which Sunrise and the others knew was never her fault it was the fault of the walkers whatever they were.

Sunrise and the other mares would finish healing Nighthawk's wounds, when a terrible sound filled the air the scream of a stallion in pain they didn't know if it was Ridge or Blaze that had screamed out, but it was highly likely the injury was really bad and would affect them for the rest of there life, it was then that Nighthawk climbed to his hooves the stallion was a little unsteady but otherwise he seemed better then he had been, "Onyx it was never your fault...it was the walkers there terrible creatures" Nighthawk said as he shook his head and mane out getting rid of some of the debris that stuck to his neck, "Are you sure Nighthawk...I would have come back for you if only I knew you were still alive" Onyx said as she trotted off to be by herself, "Let her go Nighthawk she is dealing with more issues then you know" Sunrise said as she nuzzled him with a freindly affection which Nighthawk returned.

Sunrise would look at Nighthawk she didn't really know what he was, there was something strange about him like he was more then a horse but she shook that thought off he had seemed so innocent when she had first seen him, there was no way he was anything but a wild horse Sunrise thought as she watched Mavis walk over to Nighthawk, she snorted and then trotted off muttering "Of course the herd princess wants to see him" she said as she trotted off towards the shade where June and some of the other mares were including Skyler were, she could see that Skyler was really on edge so she avoided talking to her for fear of her own safety of getting kicked or bit by the on edge mare, it was well known in the herd that you never bug the lead mare unless she invites you over or talks to you directly, she would walk over towards June the mare seemed off like something was bugging her, "Hey June everything okay you don't look so good maybe Eclipse should check you over" Sunrise said to the mare who turned to face her, "Yeah I guess I will have Eclipse look me over ...I got this real sudden sharp pain in my stomach it hasn't stopped since this morning" June said before walking off to find Eclipse to treat her for whatever was bugging her, Sunrise followed her offering herself to lean on if the pain became a little intense.

Sunrise would walk with June keeping a eye on the small bay mare as they joined Eclipse in the shade the black mare looked at June with concern, "I can take it from here Sunrise you may go" Eclipse said as she went to work on treating June who really needed help, Sunrise would flare her nostrills smelling something that was defintly a stallion but not Ridge, there was something familler about this stallion he had a confident walk but then she heard some strange neighs, "Mares of Blue ridge herd I bring you news me and Ridge have agreed to join our herds togather he will be coming shortly" said Blaze the lead stallion of the Pine valley herd, who was the son of Apollo and a unknown mare that might have been captured by humans, he was very handsome but he was not a stallion to mess with there was no kindness in his voice, but that might be because his father had been really hard on him as a colt teaching him to fight with such viciousness it looked like anything but play.

Sunrise and the other mares were stunned how would this work, "Blaze no offense but how will this work will there be two leadmares for the herd" Skyler said raising her bay head to look up at Blaze the stallion snorted, "there will be two leadmares my mate Java and you Skyler shall lead this herd togather and with me and Ridge for protection you will be very safe from bachelor herds" Blaze said, this was news to Sunrise as it was very rare for a stallion even one as experianced as Ridge to agree to such a deal with a stallion like Blaze but she did not argue the terms of this new larger herd it meant more protection, however Nighthawk seemed to think otherwise with what Blaze had said he did not see the positive side of this deal, "Do you think this is wise Blaze ...you can't keep a eye on both herds at once I am willing to join this herd but on one condition I can choose any mare I like as my mate from both herds" Nighthawk said as he raised his black head to stare at Blaze his ears slightly back, "I accept your terms Nighthawk but you are already a member of my herd did you really think I wouldn't notice the way you look at Sunrise" Ridge said as he trotted into view slightly limping from a wound Blaze had probaly given him he trotted right over to Skyler and there daughter Mavis and gave them a freindly nudge.

Sunrise would look at Nighthawk unsure how to really speak to him about his intrest in her, "Nighthawk..you like me why did you never tell me" Sunrise said as she started to groom the black stallion as he did the same anyone could tell they truely cared for each other that is except for the spoiled brat of the herd Mavis, "I wanted to tell you Sunrise I just well didn't know how to say it without it sounding too weird or akward" Nighthawk said back, but before they could go any farther in there affection for one another, Mavis trotted over her ears fully back "Nighthawk...I thought you liked me ...what would you do with a non lead mare like her she is hardly worth your time" Mavis said into Nighthawk's left ear, this caused Nighthawk to react "I think you are a spoiled brat Mavis any stallion who chooses you must be a real jerk I don't care about rank all I want is for me and Sunrise to be together" Nighthawk said ignoring the grey mare who then reared up in shock of what Nighthawk just said, Sunrise just galloped off she was a blurr of emotions and needed to get away before she did something terrible to Mavis, "this is just too much for me I need to leave" Sunrise said as she galloped away from the huge herd not thinking twice about the dangers.

Sunrise would gallop away from the safety of the new joint herd unaware that she was galloping into walker territory, her hooves carried her a long distance away from everything that was familer to her, she then saw a light grey stallion with a dark grey mane and tail ahead of her she stopped and faced him, "Hmm my your a pretty little lost thing don't you worry Captain will look after you" the stallion said who's name must be Captain, she pinned her ears seeing him as a threat, "Stay away from me you crazy stallion I am not looking for a mate" Sunrise said to Captain who just snorted as if her desprate plea was just a empty threat, "Of course you aren't lucky for you mare I don't care your coming with me if you fight me I will not hesitate to hurt you" Captain said as he bit Sunrise's hip forcing her into a small pasture where they could be alone, she fought with everything she had to escape Captain but he was too strong for her to fight and she gave in to whatever it was he wanted, all the while she could not stop thinking about Nighthawk did she really have feelings for the stallion she thought, trying to ignore what Captain was doing to her well she was helpless to escape him.

Sunrise neighed in the hope some horse would hear her but it seemed like no one would, until she saw a large black horse gallop towards Captain his ears were pinned back, "Captain are you nuts that's a wild mare you should let her leave before the walkers come" the black horse said to the light grey stallion who snorted, "Why do you care Edwin you will never have a family not since the walkers did the thing to you" Captain retorted to the the black horse who must be Edwin, he seemed upset but he still didn't leave me alone with him, "Let her leave now Captain I can hear the walkers footsteps coming this way" Edwin said as he bit Captain not drawing blood but just to make the message clear, "Fine she can leave besides Diva is still intrested in me maybe I will go see her" Captain said as he jumped a man made wall around the ground leaving Sunrise and Edwin alone, "I am so sorry for what he did to you are you okay" Edwin asked her as he gently guided her out of the tight space, "It's okay Edwin is it I know how stallions can be ...I should be okay as long as I remember the way home from here" Sunrise said as she broke into a trot, "Stay safe wild one and avoid this place at all costs" Edwin said to her as she then galloped off into the distance heading back towards the herd.

Sunrise would gallop like she never had before her hooves sounding like thunder as she made her way back to the herd, she could see Skyler and Ridge looking angry "Mavis..come here now your in trouble young lady" Ridge said to his daughter who reluctantly trotted over her head held low, this was going to be good Sunrise thought as she watched Ridge scold her daughter in front of everyone in the herd, "You never attack a stallion who has caused you no harm young lady ..you know what I am banishing you from the herd" Ridge said, it was then that Skyler started to whinny in defense of her daughter, "Ridge darling don't you think that is a little harsh" Skyler said to her mate well she groomed his mane, "Nothing is too harsh my mate besides it was about time she left" Ridge said as he groomed Skyler, this was touching to Sunrise until she looked down at Nighthawk he had been kicked in the leg it was broken or at the very least badly sprained, "Nighthawk oh my god what happened to you" Sunrise said galloping to his side, he was unable to stand up and he was in so much pain, "Sunrise listen there is something I want to tell you" Nighthawk said as he nuzzled her with affection, "Yes Nighthawk what is it" Sunrise said trying to guess what the news was, "Would you like to be my mate for as long as we both shall live Sunrise of the former Blue ridge herd" Nighthawk said this made Sunrise happy, "Yes I would love that very much Nighthawk..I can't wait to have our foals" Sunrise said as she groomed Nighthawk's mane.

Sunrise was about to have another suprise as June the mare she had helped trotted over with a little foal, "Who is this little guy" Sunrise said as she bent down to nuzzle the little foal, "His name is November ain't he the cutest little colt you ever seen" June said as she allowed Sunrise to nuzzle him, "I like that name it suits him ..what do you think my mate" Sunrise said to Nighthawk he looked at November, "you better keep a eye on him June a little colt like him is bound to be trouble" Nighthawk said as he gently nuzzled the little colt, it was then that Ridge walked over he seemed sorry for what his daughter had done, "I am very sorry for what Mavis did to you Nighthawk are you okay I will send Eclipse to see you in a minute" Ridge said to Nighthawk who really didn't seem too upset, "other then a broken leg I feel fine Ridge sir can you tell her to bring some strong herbs though as every little movement hurts" Nighthawk said.

Sunrise would look up as Eclipse came trotting over to examine Nighthawk, she would back away to leave Eclipse to look after her mate knowing he was in good care, she could see two other foals who were close to there mother's side and rather nervous to play, "They must be from Blaze's herd as I have never seen them before" Sunrise said as she walked over to introduce herself to the two mares the dark bay raised her head, "Hello I'm Vera this is my foal Amos who are you" Vera said as the other mare walked over, "I'm Sunrise nice to meet you Vera" Sunrise said as she looked over to see the other mare come closer with a filly by her side, "Hello I am Blurr and this little girl is Promise nice to meet you Sunrise" Blurr said as she lowered her head to graze on some grass well Promise played nearby, she would watch Promise as her mother continued to graze, "your herd is so diffrent from ours you seem more relaxed well were always so tense and ready to run" Sunrise said to Vera who was also watching Promise and Amos as they were playing together, "Blaze likes to think that a relaxed herd is better then a scared herd as there more prone to panic" Vera said as her tail swished at some flies.

Sunrise would look at Vera the mare seemed really freindly "Who is the father of your foal Vera if you don't mind me asking" Sunrise said rather curiously, "I would rather not say who he was other then he was more heavy built then me" Vera said to her with a swish of her thick tail, she knew the subject of fathers was a sore topic but she was too curious not to ask, as she was planning on having a foal with Nighthawk sometime soon but not this season as there was a lot of changes in the joint herd, she knew Nighthawk was now the understallion of the herd which was a big task in it's self as it meant if one of the leaders was absent he would become a overstallion himself, she only thought it would never happen yet as there were a lot of feelings in both herds about this new herd dynamic and it was now needed as the walkers were becoming a huge threat to big herds.

Sunrise would walk away from the two mares she could smell a rival herd in the distance but the scent of one herd member brought her back to her days as a filly, it couldn't be Riptide there was no way the blue roan colt she grew up with had a herd of his own, it just wasn't possible he should still be with other stallions he was a year older then her yet the scents comfirmed it, he did indeed have a herd of his own she was shocked but also glad that he would have offspring of his own, she would trot back over to join Nighthawk as Eclipse finished patching his wounds, "I am just about finished Sunrise he is all yours but I will advise you that running will be hard for him until that leg heals" Eclipse said as she finished with Nighthawk and then trotted off to join her sister Juniper beneath a tree.

Sunrise would stay by Nighthawk's side over the next few days barely leaving him only to get water and even then she always returned to be with him, "My mate ..I think it is time we welcome a new life into our family" Sunrise said as she groomed Nighthawk's mane with affection, "No not yet Sunrise it is too soon for both of us I would rather wait till next season" Nighthawk said as he groomed Sunrise's mane with equal affection, this did not sit well with Sunrise who was really looking forward to a foal with Nighthawk, "Nighthawk..please who knows what awaits us in the coming season the walkers are becoming more dangreous we might not even have a future tiogether" Sunrise said her ears slightly pinned awaiting Nighthawk's response, "Sunrise ...I have something to tell you ..I am not what you think I am ...I was what the walkers refered to as a killer..I killed a horse Sunrise ...I killed them" Nighthawk said looking away from Sunrise with guilt in his eyes, "this stallion I killed his name was Alpine I had no control seeing him attack a mare for no reason, something in me snapped and before I knew it I was filled with rage and galloped towards him and attacked him without thinking twice of my safety or what the walkers would do to me" Nighthawk said as he trotted away from Sunrise, full of guilt over what he did Sunrise guessed as she watched him trot off to be alone.
