Lockian could not very easily see Cassidy in the dim lighting but he could tell that her movements were labored. He helped her take down the weighty box of tent materials and began sorting through its contents, ''I could probably get this set the tent up myself if you want to get washed,'' he said starting to unroll the cloth. He may not be a warrior, at least not yet, but he knew how to set up camp. He also knew that Cassidy would need attention to her wounds and the longer she waited to tend to them the longer it would take them to heal, even though most of them should have dried by now, the wounds still needed to get covered to ensure a healthy healing. Lockian himself had a good amount of cuts and scratches but they weren't nearly as sever as Cassidy, and he had been able to stitch the worst of his wounds earlier in the day.
(are they in a forest or just by a river?)

"It'll probably be faster if we work together... but I suppose I've left these to fester long enough. If you really wouldn't mind taking care of the tent by yourself then I probably should." Cassidy says. There were still places where she could feel fresh blood still soaking into the fabric, but at a slower rate by now. Those wounds would need sutures. That would definitely hurt without anything to dull the pain, but she could deal with that. Her tolerance for pain was pretty high it seemed. And once she had them stitched up, she would no longer be losing more blood. But first she had to wash off the blood to access just how badly she was hurt.
(They'd probably be in a small clearing in the forest where the river runs through.)

''Certainly,'' he said beginning to set up the stakes. Honestly he was quite glad that she did go, he was getting worried with the splotches of blood soaking through her clothes. The tent didn't take long for him to set up and, finding an extra blanket he hung it up within the tent so that he could create two rooms inside. After he had finished he went for a walk in the woods to collect a few faggots for their fire, this was what he had been dreading, alone time without a suitable occupation to keep his side from past events. He felt as if the world were against him and that every one he loved was to die, first his father then his dog. He leaned his forehead against a tree and sighed. He got up quickly though, not now, he had more important things to tend to.

"Thank you, I really appreciate the thought." Cass says. If left to her own devices she probably wouldn't have tended to herself until camp was fully set up. Although she was willing and able to tolerate it, she couldn't deny that she was in an awful lot of pain at the moment. Of course, she knew that would still be the case once she had gotten herself patched up. Wounds that bled like this took time to heal and they definitely didn't just magically stop hurting before they had time to start healing. She would need to find some relative privacy to get that done since she'd need to remove her armor and tunic to tend to a few of them judging by the locations where blood was still seeping into her clothing and armor. She had a deep gash on her shoulder that she knew had to have cut deep into the muscle. And another one on her abdomen amongst others. She would only know exactly how severe they were once she had washed away the last of the dried blood, but she knew that those two at least would require stitches. Others might as well, but she would figure that out in due time. For now, she retrieves a bucket from the wagon to fill with water and a cloth so that she had something to carefully wipe the blood away with and makes her way down to the river. It was moving quickly, however that wouldn't hinder her from collecting the water she needed.

It did not take long for Lockian to collect the sticks though he had to search harder to find ones that were dry and clean, but soon enough he had a sizable bundle. He began to walk back to camp and once he reached it, dropped the sticks near the tent and went to the wagon in search of a tinder box or matches, ''surly Cassidy had brought a package along,'' he mumbled to himself as he dug through their supplies. FINALLY he found the match box after climbing entirely into the wagon, ''ah new she did,'' he said with triumph jumping down from the wagon. After finding a pile of dry leaves and setting up a few of the smaller twigs in a cone style around them he lit a match and set fire to the leaves and slowly nursed the tiny flames until he finally got it up to a sizable blaze. He sat back for a second to enjoy the warmth of his efforts.

It took a while, probably roughly about an hour and a half to two hours, but finally Cass had herself stitched up and bandaged to hopefully prevent infection from setting in. She packs the first aid kit back up and rises slowly to her feet. She could bear with the pain, but there only could have been so long that she could keep going while actively losing blood. It would take time for her to replenish what she had lost, but she was no longer losing more. She'd have to wash and fix both her armor and the clothing she had been wearing, but that could wait for the morrow when she had more light. For now, she was dressed in a simple long sleeve tunic and trousers to cover the thick bandages covering her wounds. She makes her way back to the campsite, following the distant glow of the crackling fire to find her way back. Gingerly, she lowers herself down to the ground to sit beside Lockian. The warmth of the fire was definitely a welcome comfort after all that.

Lockian looked up quickly when he heard approaching footsteps but relaxed when he saw it was Cassidy, ''you look refreshed,'' he said once she had sat down near the fire, ''I'll get our food,'' he said standing and walking towards the wagon. He soon returned with a food bag and opened it up, as he sorted through its contents he asked, ''so, how much longer do you think we have till we reach this Lord Addaway fellow you were speaking of earlier?'' He brought out a package of dried beef and broke off a chunk for himself and began chewing on it, he could have warmed it over the fire if he had had the patience for that, but he didn't. Which hardly eating anything to call a breakfast and nothing much better for lunch he was glad of this time to sit back and rest for a bit.

"As best possible given the circumstances... does feel better to no longer be coated in dried blood." Cass says, holding her hands out over the fire to warm up. It had been no proper bath with actual soap, but at least she was able to feel clean now. Without any painkillers, there was nothing she could do for the pain but wait for the healing process to begin in earnest. But she wasn't actively bleeding out anymore. "I suppose we probably should eat something... wasn't exactly enough time for lunch earlier" she says, her mismatched gaze following him as he retrieved the dried beef. It wasn't a full meal, but it would do for now. "Few days... maybe a week depending on how quickly we can move. We'll probably be making slower progress now that we're both injured. But we'll get there one way or another" she says. For tonight they'd best take it easy since dawn would mean they'd need to pack up and hit the road again.

Lockian looked at his clumsily stitched arm and tried stretching it, a week, by that time he would probably be able to remove the stitching. He laughed a little, ''right, take it easy, that plan suits me fine.'' He grew serious again, ''then we should probably get to bed soon,'' he said before taking another bite of his tough meat. After a while he asked, ''do you think we should set up a sentry? I mean I don't think those fellows back there would want to try and mess with us again after what we gave them, but what if they collect friends, or what if another band comes along, one with a leader who isn't quite so hot headed,'' he added as an after thought. He would never admit that he was afraid of another attack but they both were after all wounded and surprise night attacks always threw things into more confusion than what Lockian was comfortable with, he shuddered inwardly at the thought of being captured by those men they had met earlier. Not a nice thought.

"Probably should... we can probably take the night in shifts." Cass says quietly, gazing into the fire. "I can take the first shift. I'm not quite ready to bed down for the night anyway. Bedrolls should still be in the cart, unless you set yours up already with the tent" she says. She doubted that they would encounter any more trouble tonight, but having a sentry still wouldn't hurt. If they were to be attacked in the night, having an early warning system would allow them to get the upper hand much more easily than if they had been taken by surprise while they were both asleep. Last night's disturbing dream was still partially on her mind, and she could use the time to mull it over as well while keeping watch. She wasn't sure exactly what time it was, but it was late. She knew that much for certain.

Lockian nodded, he knew she liked to stay up later than he did and so agreed readily to the plan, ''no I didn't get them yet,'' he said standing and eating the last bit of his meat, ''I guess I'll get them now and then turn in. Wake me in two or three hours.'' He went and collected their bedrolls and returned to the tent, after tossing Cassidy's bedroll into her part of the tent he unrolled his and laid down, he would have to get up early tomorrow so that he could get a wash in. Unfortunately as well as strangely, sleep did not come to him immediately as it normally did. Probably all the excitement of earlier in the day he thought to himself, closing his eyes and trying to induce sleep to come. This of course never helped anyone fall asleep and Lockian was no exception. He laid on the bedroll for perhaps half an hour after that allowing his mind to wander which brought uncomfortable memories from his past, but soon exhaustion overtook his emotions and these no longer bothered him.

"Sleep well." Cass says, still looking out at the fire. Without access to a clock, she had no way of knowing exactly when two or three hours would have passed. But she could wake him up in approximately that amount of time. There was no way of knowing what the morrow would bring. Travel would likely be difficult with both of them being injured. But hopefully they wouldn't run into any more trouble along the way to Lord Addaway's land. They had a horse now, so at least they wouldn't have to worry about pulling the wagon while they were both healing. She felt a bit light headed after losing so much blood, but now that she was stitched up, her body would be able to replenish what she had lost with time. With a bit of time to rest, she would hopefully be feeling a tiny bit better by morning if not back to one hundred percent.

Lockian tossed and turned for some time thoughts of his father then mother... then older brother kept coming to his mind. He sighed loudly, he never told anyone he had an older brother, he didn't even consider him as part of the family. But Lockian couldn't help but think what had become of him, they used to be such great friends. Lockian could forgive him...No, never. Finally Lockian fell into a troubled sleep that allowed no rest, his dreams haunted with images of his brother.

Cass winces slightly as she rose to her feet. It had been three or so hours from what she could tell. She adds a few more sticks to the fire to keep it going before heading into the tent to wake Lockian. She leans forward slightly to shake his shoulder to rouse him from sleep. So far, everything had been peaceful. Hopefully it would remain that way for the rest of the night. They could probably take the whole night in three or four shifts so that neither one of them would be completely sleep deprived by morning. Though if he was still tired, she wouldn't mind returning to the fire. Truth be told she didn't feel much like sleeping right now.

Lockian jerked awake and sat up quickly but then he realized it was Cassidy, he assumed everything had gone well during her shift, ''morning,'' he said jokingly before standing up halfway and existing the tent, he straightened once he had gotten out and stretched his cramped limbs. He sat down by the fire again, he noticed that the wood pile was low. He got up again with a groan, the rest in the tent had settled all his bruises now getting up again was more painful than it had been a few hours earlier. Quietly he entered the forest and began to collect more branches, he didn't not go far, in fact he made sure that the fire was always in sight. Pretty soon he came back with an armload and tossed them down near the fire, he sat before it to warm himself again after his excursion into the cool wood. After what he deemed to be two and a half to three hours he entered the tent to wake Cassidy, he couldn't tell wether she was still awake or sleeping but either way he shook her lightly.
