After finishing up at the clothier's shop, Cass emerges from the store and continues down the cobblestone street. She had a few new tunics and trousers draped over her shoulder. As she walks along, she pauses when she spots a hopscotch grid, with a group of children taking turns throwing a little rock to see how far they had to go across the grid. A thought crossed her mind - had she played games like that in her youth? Was she once sweet? Or was she always... like this? Stoic, hardened, ready to lash out at anyone and everything if need be. She lingered there, almost lost in thought, though she was still a good distance away from the kids. So thankfully they hadn't noticed her, though it probably helped that they were absorbed in their game, not really paying attention to their surroundings.

Lockian passed several shops before he thought he could make out the wiry for of Cassidy from across the street. He turned to see what she was looking at as he heard the merry laughter of children. "Morning to you,'' he told her cheerfully, once he came up, ''I hoped you slept well.'' He noticed the slightly wistful look on her normally more expressionless face. This made him wonder at what sort of past this woman had, what had she gone through in life to make her this way, so grim and serious? He deemed it wise not to inquire, anyway, she herself didn't really seem to know either.

"Hmm?" Cass murmurs, rubbing her right forearm through the glove absent-mindedly. She hadn't really heard him coming, but she recognized his voice from the night before. Otherwise chances were her hand would have went straight to the hilt of her sword. "Morning" she says pausing. "Better than the night before. How about you?" She asks, turning her mismatched gaze over from the hopscotch grid to Lockian. She figured that he must have been looking for her, given than she hadn't exactly told anyone where she was going. She had just left the inn as soon as she had gotten herself ready for the day in the hopes of figuring out where she'd need to go to get what she needed.

Cassidy seemed to have been in a sort of reverie when Lockian walked up, inwardly he berated himself for not being careful in his approaching, he didn't exactly feel like it was a good day to get his head chopped, but thankfully Cassidy seemed like she was in a good mood. ''I slept well,'' he responded, ''I see you were able to make a few purchases,'' he motioned towards the clothing, ''may I ask where you are heading next? I myself have a few things I need to buy.''

"Clothing mostly so far... I figured I couldn't easily get by on only two complete outfits." Cass says, her mismatched gaze following his gesture over the clothing draped over her shoulder. "Probably the armory next. I'll need some armor, and likely a whetstone as well. What are you needing to purchase?" She asks. Her sword needed to be sharpened, the blade was a bit dull, so the whetstone would definitely be a necessity. The armor as well, seeing as the only career she knew would be an option for put herself in danger quite often. And she'd truly rather not perish because she didn't have passable armor. Plate armor would be better of course, but leather would have to do for now since she was working on what little gold she had on her person.

Lockian nodded, ''the armory sounds good,'' he said, if he wanted to become a paid archer he would need proper gear, as a fact his bracer was just thick cloth padding, he definitely had to fix that. ''I was thinking on making a new bowstring so I was going to get some wax, and maybe a proper gauntlet,'' he said looking down ruefully at his arm, and possibly some other pieces of armor. Also some dye so that I can color the feathering for my arrows.''

"I think I saw the sign for the armory earlier... somewhere around here." Cass says, her mismatched eyes surveying the surrounding buildings. She had been on her way there when she had gotten completely sidetracked by the hopscotch grid. "Or at least I thought I had" she mutters, bringing one gloved hand up to rub her forehead absent-mindedly. It had to be around here somewhere, perhaps she had simply taken a wrong turn earlier. As far as she was aware, she had never been to this town before. Though at this point she couldn't be sure of much. She lets her arm fall to her side again after a moment. She'd need that armor one way or another if she was to earn a living while she figured stuff out. If she could even figure stuff out at this point.

''Yes, it is right this way,'' Lockian said indicating a shop not very far away. He walked through the already open door and after giving the keeper an acknowledging nod, began to inspect the various pieces of weaponry. He was especially interested in the bows that were in offer. He made his himself and it was well made, with a good draw weight. As these were unstrung he bent a couple experimentally to test their power. He frowned, these were mere hunting bows, in know way would they compare to his own longbow. Placing the bows back he moved on to look at the bracers, they had a few made of iron but those would not suit his purposes, they were too heavy and would needlessly exhaust his arm. There were also a few that were elaborately gilded, but he knew he could not stretch his pocket book that far, instead he picked up one of plain leather and tried it on, this would do nicely, he thought.

"Ahh... I see. Well I suppose at least I didn't get terribly turned around." Cass says. Once inside, she made her way over to where the armor was kept. She stops in front of an armor stand that was fully decked out in leather armor to inspect it. While it was no full suit of plate armor, it would still offer sufficient protection in battle. And it wasn't terribly expensive. She could afford the cost. With that in mind, she makes her way over to where the whetstones were located. She picked up a small hand held one. This will do nicely she mused. It would get the job done and her sword definitely needed to be sharpened. A dull sword could get the job done in a pinch, but a well maintained blade was just so much more effective.

Lockian deemed the gauntlet suitable, unfortunately he could not find any wax or dye in the shop but he did not really expect to either, he would just have to pick those items up another time. The last thing he found was a leather breastplate which, according to the shop keeper, could keep out arrows, but Lockian doubted the fact, especially if it came to warheads which were designed to penetrate basic armor. He bought it nonetheless, some protection is better than none. ''Have you found anything,'' he asked Cassidy after he had finished browsing.

"Indeed. Not as ideal as plate armor, but it'll do." Cass says, as she places the needed amount of gold on the counter. She slips the whetstone into her pocket and gathers the armor into her arms. It was a lot to carry when she was already a bit sore, but she could manage just fine. "Did you find what you were looking for?" She asks. She wasn't sure that they would have everything he was looking for here, given than an armory mostly only sold armor, weapons, and tools for their upkeep. Dye and wax likely weren't sold here. Or at least if they did carry them, she hadn't seen them in stock. If he needed to make another stop, then she supposed they were in the right place. A lot of the buildings here seemed to be stores.

Lockian gave a few coins for his purchases, ''let me carry some,'' he said reaching to assist her though she seemed to be handling it alright, ''besides it would look very silly indeed if you were seen carrying all this and I was just beside you swinging my arms like a schoolchild,'' he said grinning. ''Unfortunately no,'' he said in response to her question, ''I was unable to find any wax or dye but I can get them at any time, besides I don't even have the feathers.'' As they existed the shop into the streets he asked, ''have we anywhere else to go or is it back to the inn?'' He looked both ways down the street it was definitely getting busier, but it was no where near as busy as it used used be, he thought to himself with sadness.

"I... thank you. That is very kind of you." Cass says, relinquishing some of her load over to him. She hadn't exactly been overly friendly, yet he was still treating her with kindness beyond what she would have expected from anyone for that matter. He gained nothing from trying to help her, at least as far as she could tell. And yet here they were. "If you are certain you can wait to pick those up, then I think that's all for now" she says. She wasn't sure what the rest of the day would hold. She couldn't think of any other errands she had to run at the moment, though there probably were others. Right now though they weren't exactly on her mind. But she supposed there was no rush. She had the basics, so if anything crossed her mind later, she could take care of it then.

''No I'm in no hurry,'' Lockian assured. As they walked down the streets he glanced at the harbor memories of when he and his father were sailing together unburied themselves from the back of his mind, the one the came the most was his father's deep and resounding voice telling him that next time... next time he and Lockian would go on a voyage together the a far and rich land, the one that brought them the most money. But the ship was destroyed just a month before they were to set out. And then of course his father had to get a new job...which would lead, in the end to his death. Lockian shook his head of these memories, but their dark mood settled upon him and stayed for a while.

Cass nods slightly, glancing up at the sky. It looked like there was going to be a storm in any case, so they were probably better off heading back to the inn in any case. Before they got soaked to the bone. The first drops of rain were already starting to fall down from the sky. "Something is eating away at you" she says as he shakes his head. It was more of a statement than a question really, an opening to talk about whatever was weighting him down really. If he didn't want to talk, then she would leave it at that. She certainly wouldn't be so keen herself to open up to someone she had only just met the day prior. Not that she had much to open up about. All she knew about herself was her name at this moment in time. The raindrops were sparse, but she could feel each one soaking into her hair as they walked along. They'd be at the inn soon she surmised, but whether or not that would before the actual downpour began, well that remained to be seen.
