"You... you don't recognize me?" The bard asks. Looking into her eyes, he could practically see the gears turning. She was being truthful. She really didn't remember him. "You're my daughter" he says. He wasn't sure how he was expecting her to react. But certainly not like this. She was silent for a moment following his revelation. "Is this some kind of sick joke? How do I know you're being truthful?" Cass asks. She wasn't sure what to make of his statement. "It can't be. You can't be. I've got to go" she mutters, turning to leave and head back to the castle. She just didn't have the energy to deal with this today.

(I guessed correctly haha. I was thinking father or brother)
Lockian peered over towards Banshee’s stall, she was dozing off it seemed, he didn’t want to approach the mare as it would rouse her up and most likely cause a lot of noise, which was not a good idea at this time of night, quietly he walked away, patting Phantom’s neck before leaving the stables and walking towards the castle. Inside almost all was silent except for some faint sounds and voices coming from the kitchen, it was also very dark apart from a few torches set periodically along the stone walls.

( ) After walking down the dark streets of the town for some time, Cass reaches the castle. She makes her way up the stairs towards the heavy wooden door and steps inside. She wasn't sure exactly what time it was. But it was late. The castle seemed almost inhumanly quiet. But some peace and quiet would be nice she mused as she made her way deeper into the castle to head towards their rooms.

Lockian stepped inside the room he hadn’t been sure whether Cassidy had returned yet but now he saw that she hadn’t. He sat on his bed and began unlacing his boots, his fingers were still cold so this was a little more difficult than it should have been. He went to the fire a stoked the ashes a bit before adding some logs. He warns back to his bed and shedded his jerkin before taking the thong from his hair.

Slipping into the room, Cassidy shuts the door quietly behind herself. She figured that by now Lockian was likely back since he had left to head back before she did, and she didn't want to wake him if he had already gone to bed. Slipping her sword out of its scabbard, she hangs it up on the wall with an inaudible sigh.

Lockian fell asleep soon after his head hit the bed, it had been a very long and tiring day with starting his new occupation and all but it was all worth it, or would be worth it in the end

After taking a few minutes to change into something a bit more comfortable, Cass grabs a book from the shelf and lays down in bed. She wasn't quite ready to sleep just yet, her mind was swimming. But maybe some late night reading would lull her to sleep. And if not, well it was better than tossing and turning all night.

MEANWHILE.....
A dark shadow slipped over the castle grounds moving smoothly and with a practiced ease through the trees and up to the castle wall. It flattened itself against the cold stone and for a moment looked as if it were the wall itself. A sudden movement was seen farther along than stopped... straight under the window of the Lord's daughter. Or so the ''inside man'' told him. Pulling out a grappling hook tied with a cloth around the spiked end, swinging it expertly he released, only to have it fall to the ground, he misjudged the distance. He tried again. Success. He began climbing slowly, hand over hand, to ensure the the sentries were still eluded. Finally he reached the windowsill and quietly dropped to the floor. Soon he had the girl tied and gagged, he let her down in a separate rope and sliding down himself after her. He picked up the girl easily and slung her over his shoulder before disappearing into the night.

Cass continues to read late into the night, the only sounds she could hear in the room being the crackling of the fire and the occasional turn of the pages of her book. Eventually in the very early hours of the morning, or perhaps the very late hours of the night depending on whom one asked, she slips a bookmark into place and sets the book aside. It was probably best that she at least try and get some sleep. Getting up, she adds a bit more wood to the fire to keep it going before returning to her bedside to turn off the oil lamp. Aside from the dim light of the fire now the room was bathed in darkness as she got under the covers. Tomorrow would be a new day, and maybe then she could deal with the revelation brought by last night, if work left her much time to do so anyway.

Lockian woke with a start early the next morning, it felt colder then usual but this didn’t hinder his getting up. Rubbing his hands a bit to warm up he pulled on his boots and tied up his hair, it was already getting to an annoying length, perhaps later on he’d see if he could get a barber to cut it, or if anything do it himself with his dirk, he didn’t really care about having uneven ends. He pulled on his bracers and then after checking his dirk, slid the quiver over his shoulder. He was able to resupply his quiver yesterday from the armory and thought it a relief that he didn’t have to make his own arrows.

"Morning." Cass says, hearing movement from the connected room as Lockian went about getting ready for the day. It seemed a morning like any other so far. She would need to head out for work soon enough. Though Lord Addaway's daughter's room was close by, so she didn't have to go far to collect her charge for the day. It was probably going to be another long day she mused as she does up the buckle on her chest plate. She'd have to grab her sword before she left as well, and maybe a cup of coffee.

''Morning,'' Lockian answered, ''what time did you get back last night,'' he asked, wondering if Cassidy had even managed to get any sleep, she always seemed to get to bed late, and it would probably come back sooner or later and take a tole on her, Lockian thought with a shake of his head. He'd probably walk down to the kitchens to pick something up to eat, he'd need all the hard energy he could get, especially with the captain he had.

"I'm not exactly sure what time it was... but late. You were already asleep by the time I got in." Cass says, reaching forward to retrieve her greatsword from the wall. She figured that it had probably been about one o'clock when she had returned to the room, or at very least close to one o'clock, but considering she hadn't checked, she had no way of knowing for certain. Either way, she had stayed up for a while after that reading in the hopes of clearing her mind.

''My that is late,'' Lockian said considering he had not gone to bed immediately the night before once he had come back from the tavern, since he had wanted to check on the horse. He adjusted the quiver crossing his back and checked his bracers again to ensure they would not slip. ''I had best get going so that I can catch some food before reporting in,'' he said stepping out the door.

"I suppose it is." Cass says, slipping her sword into the scabbard at her back before reaching for her bracers. "I'll probably be out by the time you get back in, if you're going hunting. Though I think the kitchen might be the easier place to go if you're looking for a meal" she says, slipping the right bracer on over her crippled arm. She tightens the strap before slipping the left on as well and securing that strap as well. Her mind was still reeling from last night, but then again it never seemed to be wholly quiet. Though her expression very rarely did anything to give that away unless one was really looking for some flicker of emotion. She'd have to go collect Lord Addaway's daughter in a moment and see what all she wanted to do today.
