Lockian sat up, ''you're right we need to get a game plan on so tomorrow we can collect all we need and get moving.'' He called the made and asked her to bring them some food, whatever it was that they had that night. The maid scurried off to get them some. ''Alright,'' Lockian said turning back to Cassidy, ''the best way we should probably go about this is divide and conquer, you take care of half and I take the other half. What do you plan on accomplishing and what do you think I should take care of,'' he asked, it would be wise that they figured all this out today instead of waiting till tomorrow and be flustered over it all and therefore waisting precious daylight, after all Cassidy was right about the days getting shorter.

"Makes sense... I've got to finish sharpening my sword in the morning. After that I can probably see about getting a tent and two bedrolls. Do you think you could handle gathering provisions and some basic medical supplies?" Cassidy asks. The cart she could probably get with the tent and the bedrolls. They'd need some sort of shelter, though the tent would do little to really protect them from the rain since it would soak through the fabric. But hopefully they wouldn't get another storm before they reached the land of the noble they were going to see. Or they would be getting soaked with no reprieve since they wouldn't have buildings to seek shelter in out there.

Lockian smiled wryly, ''I'm sure I can manage it,'' he said. Just then the maid brought back their food, Lockian accepted his bowl and blew on it before taking a bite. He wanted to savor this while he could, chances were that aside from the probably rushed breakfast they were going to have tomorrow, he did not know when he would get a relaxed meal like this. But still he was looking forward to this journey and looked at it as a sort of adventure, some might call that childish thinking, but he wouldn't have cared, never having to travel so far with a stranger he met just the other day was not a very frequent occurrence for many people, and just that fact alone made him anticipate the next day's arrival.

"Glad to hear it... doing it all myself would take a lot longer than it will if the tasks are split up." Cass says, picking up her spoon to take a spoonful of her soup. A warm meal would do them both good. Especially since meals would be uncertain for at least the next couple of days, depending on how long it took them to reach Lord Addaway's land. She'd probably grab an apple on her way out for breakfast so that she could eat on her way to the shops. Any meals after that would probably consist of dried meats, dried fruit and nuts. If that could be called a proper meal that was. But it would have to do until they got back to civilization. They could make do for a couple of days.

''It does,'' Lockian answered, and continued eating. He realized then that they had skipped lunch when he suddenly felt the pangs of hunger. He supposed that since his mind had been filled so much about tomorrow he had not even thought about this. He quickly finished his bowl and set it down. Grettir was suddenly sitting before him thumping his tail against the floor, ''I don't have any left,'' he told the wolfhound, ''go see if you can beg some leftovers of the innkeeper's son, you know how he likes you,'' Lockian said making a shooing gesture with his hand. The dog grumbled then left to find his dinner some other place. After sitting in silence for a while longer he suddenly spoke, ''it is strange how drastically ones life can change in a matter of days,'' he said musingly.

"Too true... I don't even know where I was a few days ago." Cass says, breaking off a piece of bread from one the loaves that had been served with their stew. She dips it into her stew to soak up some of the broth before bringing it up to her mouth. She definitely had been hungry. This was the first meal she was really having today. She had left without thinking to get breakfast, and she certainly hadn't had lunch. Probably not the healthiest decision to make, but it wasn't as though she was starving herself. She had just been busy today. That was all there was to it. Tomorrow they would have to make do with what they had, so it would probably be another day of sparse meals.

As Cassidy finished up eating Lockian began attaching the feathers to his arrows. This didn't take him nearly as long as it did when he was actually attaching the heads. He held the first arrow back a ways to inspect its overall look. He generally liked to dye his feathering green but the mottling of the white and grey of gull's feathers gave them a new look that he actually liked. It did not take him long to finish all six of the arrows and by that time he was already yawning, he leaned back in his chair again, ''alright I think I'm for bed,'' he said drowsily. But instead of getting up and going he stayed in his chair trying to pull together his will power to get him upstairs, the fire was just so comfortable and warm though.

"Night... I'll probably be down here a bit longer. But I'll turn in myself soon as well." Cass says. Though she noticed that he seemed reluctant to get out of the armchair and head upstairs. Not that she could blame him. It was warm and comfortable down here, cozy even. Though sleeping out in the open common room probably wasn't the best idea. Though it was doubtful that anyone would break in during the night. So she supposed it would be fine. She'd have to bring her sword upstairs anyway though just in case, so she'd probably be heading upstairs eventually in any case.

Lockian actually did fall asleep in the armchair and actually dreamt that he went upstairs on was lying in bed though why it felt as if he were sitting up he didn't know. Grettir came back licking his lips, when he saw Lockian he let out an annoyed whine, he had been looking forward to the bed that night..... no he'd still get the bed. The dog began pawing very forcefully at Lockian's knee and even gently gnawed at his hand, finally as last resort Grettir jumped up and placing his paws on Lockian's lap, licked the man's face. Lockian woke up suddenly with a start, ''lad get off o' me,'' he said pushing the dog off. Grettir began walking toward the stairs with his tail held up, he looked back expectantly at Lockian. The man looked about him quickly then realized what had happened, quickly he stood up, ''g'night,'' he said gruffly before turning towards the stairs.

"Night." Cass says, leaning back against the back of the armchair slightly. She'd head up soon herself. She was tired, but she wasn't sure how easily sleep would come tonight. With the uncertainty of her past, her mind was far from wanting to settle down. She didn't know who she was and it bothered her. One thought from earlier seemed to not want to leave her be. Her fiery temper... what is really had been some kind of metaphorical monster. She shakes her head slightly. That was just speculation. There was no sense in dwelling on what could be. Right now she had no way of knowing what her past was and she'd only drive herself up the wall if she fixated on it.

Lockian walked up the stairs though sometimes in his exhaustion he stumbled upon a couple. Finally he made it to his room, and in one piece. He was lucky enough to have the presence of mind to close the door and throw his arrows into some corner before he fell onto his bed immediately asleep. Grettir immediately jumped on and settled himself down beside Lockian. He was sure to sleep well the whole night and had always been a hard sleeper anyway.

Eventually, Cass makes her way upstairs and retires for the night. Though her sleep was fleeting and dreams disturbed. She sits up in bed, rubbing her forehead absent-mindedly. She wasn't sure what time it was, just that it was early, maybe three or four in the morning. Deciding that trying to sleep any longer was a moot point, she gets herself out of bed and dressed and ready for the day, dawning her leather armor in anticipation of what they might meet on the road. She takes her sword and her whetstone and heads downstairs. She could use this time to sharpen her sword she mused, taking a seat in an armchair by the fire.

Lockian woke up just as the sun was rising, he happened to catch Grettir on the bed, but at the moment he was too excited to berate the lucky dog. He got up to make ready for the day. After changing out of the clothes he fell asleep in, he put on some of a thick cotton cloth that would most likely were better for traveling purposes. He then put on his breastplate, laced up his new gauntlets, and collected his arrows into his quiver. The last thing he did was collect his few belongings into his knapsack as well as his clothing and money. All this was still a very small amount and only took up half the size of his well sized knapsack. After pulling his quiver over his shoulders and picking up his bow he went downstairs.

By the time Lockian was coming downstairs, Cass was still sitting in the armchair by the fire. The only sounds in the common room at this early hour were the crackling of the fire and the rhythmic scrape of her whetstone against the blade of her sword. It was going to be a busy morning, but at least that would give her something to focus on after a rough night. Perhaps she could see about picking up a kettle and some coffee beans while in town as well. That way in the mornings she'd be able to make coffee over a campfire. Of course, it would have to be drunk black without access to fresh milk. But for all she knew, she had always drank her coffee black. Either way, she could afford to if that was all they'd have. "Morning" she says, when she hears footsteps coming down the stairs.

''Morning,'' he responded sitting down on the edge of the other armchair. He wondered briefly if Cassidy had slept there all night, to him it didn't seem as if she had moved at all, she even still had the sword with her. Although it did seem as if she had been up for a while considering how awake she seems. ''How should we go about this?'' Should we go about our purchases then meet back here? Or have you a better idea?'' His mind was already running through the best places where he could get the food and medical supplies they had both agreed on he getting. He stood and walked to the water barrel that stood in the corner of the room and took a drink using the dipper that hung on its edge. He felt more refreshed after that and the last of the sleep fog was erased from his mind.
