''It was,'' he said smiling, ''and who knows, at this rate we'll be starting a pack of our own,'' he laughed. He sobered a bit, ''but you know, those scouts wont, or I should say, can't keep our hiding here a secret for long.''

[Abbster]

"I know" Winter muttered. "That worries me..." Winter admitted. "Do you think we'll actually end up....getting....caught?" She asked

''I hope not,'' Skylar said looking down at the pups, ''but we can't do anything about it now, we can't travel anywhere while they are this young, I suppose we will have to lie low for a while and wait till they get older so we can find another place to stay.''

[Abbster]

Winter sighed. “I don’t want another place to stay” she muttered. “I just want this place. I love this place.” Winter said, as she curled her head around their pups. “Why should we be the ones to leave?” She asked. “That just doesn’t seem fair!”

“I love it too,” he answered, “but we weren’t here first, they were,” Skylar said in a soothing voice, “but we really shouldn’t worry about it right now as we can’t go anywhere for the moment. But we should be ready.”

[Abbster]

Winter sighed a little bit and growled ever so slightly. “Oh Skylar.” She muttered. “I can’t loose our home.” She said, pressing her muzzle into her mates side. Her tail flicked back and forth in worry as Eclipse squirmed a little bit. Winter looked down at Eclipse and she licked her head a bit. “Hush darling, it’s ok” Winter said soothingly. “They can’t loose their home..” winter muttered.

''I know,'' Skylar answered, ''I know, and I will do everything in my power to protect you and our pups,'' he said firmly, ''nothing will keep me from trying to guard our home.'' He brought his head near his mate's, ''I promise.''

[Abbster]

Winter smiled brightly. "I believe you" She said. "But we can't protect them from the wolf pack forever....eventually you're right, we will need to move." Winter said, shuddering at the idea and thought of leaving the home she loved.

Skylar smiled, proud of how his mate trusted in him. ''But,'' he said after seeing how much the idea disturbed his mate, ''we dont need to think about it right now, we just need to be ready,'' he assured. The pups seemed to be waking up, ''hello little ones,'' he said softly, nuzzling each of their furry bodies.

[Abbster]

Avalanche let out a small whimper as he was moved away from his mothers side. Winter smiled and nudged her back towards her belly. “Did you four sleep well?” Winter asked. Although she had a feeling that none of them understood what she was talking about as they were only a day old. “Look at them. They’re so perfect.” Winter admitted.

Skylar smiled, ''yes they are,'' he agreed smiling down at their pups. Lichen sneezed suddenly and Skylar could not help but laugh at the tiny sound. Then Brechin yawned quite widely and suggested up closer against his mother. Perhaps he was biased but Skylar could not ever remember seeing pups more adorable than his and Winter's.

Winter just stared down at her pups. They were so small, but in time they would grow and be big strong wolves like there parents were. Winter smiled down at them. She hoped there eyes would open soon, she wanted to see what color there eyes all were. She gazed over at her mate and then back down at her pups once more. "I hope they have your eye color" Winter said to her mate

Skylar smiled, ''but you have the beautiful eyes,'' he said smiling but very honest in what he said, he licked his mate. ''I cant wait till they start speaking and walking around more,'' he said thinking how great it would be to have four pups walking around their den.

(Should we make the scouts come in?)

"I know" Winter said with a smile. "But as soon as they walk around they'll get into mischief, lets just enjoy this time now" Winter said, licking her mates muzzle as her stomach rumbled. "I'm starving, I wonder where the scouts are?" She asked, thinking aloud. Just as she spoke, a voice was heard. "Sorry for the late arrival" Griffin said as he poked his head in. "We had to wait for our alpha to give us todays orders." He explained. "That's alright." Winter said, as the female poked her head in as well

Skylar laughed, ''you're right.'' Suddenly he scented wolves and went on the alert, but when he saw it was only Griffin and Hadassa he relaxed. ''Yes,'' he said in response to Griffin, ''we understand,'' he got up to greet the two wolves. Hadassa smiled when she saw the pups, she was old enough to have a mate but never found one, but she had always wanted pups, ''how are they today,'' she asked Winter quietly.
