Twilight sighed and nuzzled her, wondering if perhaps Rusty had some herb she could take to calm the nausea. Even as she was thinking, she saw Midnight begin to eat, one bite at a time. Her eyes brightened slightly and she began silently nibbling the grass beside her.

Midnight's thoughts were spinning. She knew her sister was still pregnant. But Twilight wouldn't know what Midnight is going through, because everything with Twilight was always perfect. She had never lost a foal, she never foaled early. She'll probobly carry to full term. Midnights eyes closed as she was eating and slowly she fell asleep. "Aunt Twilight" Stardust said, looking down at her mom who had grass in her mouth. "is she ok?" she asked

Twilight continued nibbling the grass until Stardust spoke, looking up then down at Midnight with momentary panic, until she saw her chest rising and falling. Letting out a gentle breath she nodded "Yes, she's just resting" she replied.

[Abbster]

"I'm really worried about her." She admitted. "I've never seen her like this before, and she looks so weak." Stardust admitted sadly. "is there anything we can do for her?" she asked. "I wish we could help feed nightlight, but you probobly don't have any milk right now, and Oreo's foal hasn't arrived yet, there's no one who can help feed her." she said with a shaky sigh. "Aunt Twily" Stardust said. "I'm scared"

Twilight sighed and nodded "Me too" she said softly. "I don't know... like you say no one can feed Nighstar for her. I can always go ask Starlight if she perhaps has some type of herb or something that can help Midnight regain energy faster..." she sighed again, then glanced up at Stardust. "Oh sweetie, she'll be ok. Your mom's tough, she's been through a lot, and she's not going to stop now" she said encouragingly.

Stardust hugged her aunt as she gazed down at her mother. "promise?" she asked, gazing into her aunts eyes. Stardust was so insanely worried about her mother. She had never seen her like this before and the thought of loosing her...it made her heart twist

Twilight nodded reassuringly "I promise, she'll be ok" she said... really hoping she was right.

[Abbster]

Midnight stirred a little while later and then she opened her eyes. "hi" she said to Twilight. She stood up and shook her coat off, bending down to eat some grass. "are you ok?" she asked her sister. Nightstar had stumbled to her wobbly feet. "Twily!" Midnight said, looking at her filly. "She's standing on her own!!" Nightstar wobbled over to Midnight and bent her head to suckle. Midnight nudged her fillys bum and bent her head to eat some more grass. When Midnight turned around again, Nightstar was still nursing. "wow" Midnight said. "she's really going at it" She nuzzled Nightstar again and then watched as she stumbled to the ground. "oh my poor little filly" she said

Twilight lifted her head as Midnight got up, smiling and standing as well. "Of course I am!" she said, surprised that her sister would ask. Sure she was pregnant, but besides a couple strong kicks, she was fine. A smile widened over her face as she saw her little niece wobble to her feet. "See, she's already getting stronger!" she said, watching as the filly toddled over and began nursing. She began grazing again, moving to a sweeter patch of grass at the insistence of the kicks. Chomping away, she looked up again as Midnight spoke a few moments later "Aww good for her! she said, until she crumpled to the ground. Walking over she nuzzled her niece gently. "She'll get the hang of it soon" she said reassuringly at Midnight's look.

“How can be so sure?” Midnight asked. “That’s the first time she got up on her own, that’s the first time she walked on her own” a tear rolled down her face. “I don’t know what to do” she said, sobbing. “I can’t do this” she said. “I’m trying so hard, but how on earth can I get stronger for her if I can’t even eat?” She asked. “I’m sorry” midnight finally said. “I know you probably don’t want to deal with this right now” she rested her head on the grass and sighed, closing her eyes once more.

Twilight quickly moved to her sister's side and lay down beside her, hugging her. "Hey, I know, it's a lot. And you know you can always talk to me, especially now. But you have to think about it, she's two months early, and on her third try she was already able to walk and stand on her own for a little bit! It may seem small and trivial, but I bet if you ask Oreo, she'd be impressed and very optimistic" she said gently. "And you were able to graze for a longer time, you'll be ok. You both will" she reassured her.

“Yea well, who wants to ask the herd healer who broke the herd rules and got pregnant?” She scoffed. “Definitely not me” midnight said. “I don’t see a point to be honest.” Midnight said. “I mean I know she’s the herds healer and all, but Twily, she broke the herd code and got pregnant. The only healer I trust is starlight and rusty” she said. “Can…we….ask rusty?” She asked.

Twilight leaned back slightly, frowning at this outburst. Why was Midnight suddenly so bitter and rude about Oreo? How many times had that mare saved lives in the herd? Was that all nulified just because she'd found love? She forced herself to put aside the thoughts. Not the time for that conversation, Midnight needed help and care, not argument. "Yes, we can.. but you know who taught him and Starlight all they know" she said gently.

Midnight felt her ears flatten. She turned away from twilight in pure embarrassment. She closed her eyes and and she just lay there. Thinking about what she had just done. Sometimes, midnight could be so stupid. And she was acting so stupid right now. She felt tears roll down her face and she cried softly

Twilight gently leaned forward again and nuzzled Midnight "Hey, i'm sorry, i shouldn't have said anything" she said gently.
