"Well....i dont know how im going to do it with Nightstar" Midnight said with a small sigh when Nightstar yawned and closed her eyes, falling asleep. Midnight smiled. "I know she's small....and really skinny, but look at her" Midnight said. "she's perfect" She said, nuzzling her filly who twitched an ear and then stilled it. She smiled. "Ya know...she kinda reminds me of myself" Midnight admitted. "do you see it?" she asked. "I remember I used to stare at leafs and butteflys all day...or was that Starlight?" she asked
Beauty smiled. "me neither, and im eager to see if he can talk" Beauty said, trotting towards Starlight.

Twilight smiled "You'll do great!" she said then nodded "She's adorable, just like you! And yes, she does resemble you a lot, especially her expressions. And both of you did that" she added with a laugh.
"Ooh yeah!" nutmeg said eagerly, trotting beside her cousin.

Midnight laughed, glad her sister remembered something of when Midnight was a little filly like her daughter here. "what should I say?" she asked. "ya know, when she wakes up."
Beauty picked up a canter when they got closer to Starlight. "Hi oreo, starlight" Beauty said. "hi girls, what can we do for you?" Starlight asked. "oh...uh...we were hoping Oreo would let us see Stormy" Beauty said. Oreo nodded. "sure" she said. "he just woke up from his nap." Oreo said. "hi Stormy." Beauty nickered softly. Stormy looked up at her and said in a shaky voice. "h-hi" Beautys eyes widened. "he can talk!" she said. "he just started this morning" Starlight commented. "but don't tell your mom." she said. "why not?" Beauty asked. "because Stormy was born yesterday and it would break your mothers heart knowing he's already talking." Starlight explained. Beauty nodded in understanding

Twilight smiled "You can tell her about leaves and trees. Start small. Then tell her about butterflies" she suggested.
Nutmeg cantered as well, sliding to a stop in front of Starlight and smiling at Oreo. "Thanks!" she said to the old healer, stepping forward to see Stormy. "Hi there!" she said softly as well, bending her neck to smile at him. At his stuttered word, she drew back in surprise. "Wow! He's a fast learner!" she said, impressed. She knew she herself hadn't spoken for a while, except for small words. At Starlights request and explanation, she nodded as well. "I promise, and i'm sure Nightstar will talk soon!" she said cheerfully.

Starlight glanced at Oreo. “Maybe not” Oreo said. “She was born two months early. Foals who are born that early…take a long time to start talking” she said. Beauty flattened her ears. “Oh..” she said, feeling sad for her little sister. “I…stor..my” stormy said. Beauty laughed. “Yes, you are” she said. “I’m Beauty and this is my cousin Nutmeg” beauty said. “Bea-ut-y….Ut-Meg” beauty smiled. “Awww” she said, her eyes warm with love.
Midnight nodded. When Nightstar woke up midnight spoke softly to her. “That’s a leaf” midnight said. Nightstar looked at her confused. “I don’t think it’s working” she said to twilight, her voice sad

Nutmeg pinned her ears as well, nudging Beauty gently in consolation, then laughing at Stormy. "You got it!" she said, smiling at him. What a smart little colt!
Twilight smiled slightly. "Keep trying. It won't look like she understands, but trust me, she'll realize later" she said.

Midnight sighed but nodded. "ok" she said in a whisper as she continued to talk to her small filly who gazed up at her, like she was trying to learn.
Beauty gazed at Stormy for a while longer before he yawned and Oreo said. "alright, off you go you two, its time for his nap" Beauty nodded. "thanks for letting us see him" Beauty said. Oreo nodded. "remember what I told you" Starlight said to them. "whatever you do, don't tell your mother he's talking" Beauty nodded and said, "I remember, thanks Aunt Starlight" She hugged her aunt and nudged Nutmeg. "Come on, we gotta go tell your mom stormys talking!" she said, starting to gallop towards her mother and aunt. "Aunt Twily!" Beauty said when she reached her aunt. "guess what!" she said in a whisper, so her mother wouldn't hear.

Twilight smiled encouragingly, watching as the mother talked to her new daughter.
Nutmeg nodded as well "Yes, thank you!! And of course" she responded to Starlight giving her a hug before racing after her cousin. Reaching her mother, she pranced up to her, nuzzling her and letting Beauty do the talking as she pounced over to Nighstar and Midnight. "Ooh is she learning?" she asked excitedly, hearing what midnight was saying.
Twilight looked up as the two fillies raced up, smiling at them. "Good morning you two!" she said, nuzzling Nutmeg in return, then glancing back at Beauty again, responding in a whisper. "What?"

"Yes" Midnight said. "I'm trying to teach her some things, but I'm not sure how" Midnight admitted. "maybe you could try" Midnight suggested. "you're younger, she may understand you better than she does me" Midnight said to her niece, nuzzling her before she looked down at Nightstar. Midnight nuzzled Nightstar. "Look" She said. "Your cousin Nutmeg, is going to try to teach you some things" Midnight said, still unsure if her daughter was understanding what she was saying whatsoever.
Beauty trotted closer to her aunt. "Stormy's talking" she whispered excitedly. "But don't tell mom, Starlight has informed us that if mom finds out she will be crushed that Nightstar isn't talking yet" Beauty whispered again, knowing her aunt would understand.

Nutmeg cocked her head, then shrugged and smiled at Nighstar. "I can try!" she said, bending to her cousin and glancing around for something to direct her attention to. A bee happened to be buzzing by, and Nutmeg motioned to it. "See that? BZZZZZ that's a BEE. It's a BUG. But it STINGS so don't touch it!" she said, accentuating her words hopefully.
Twilight smiled "I'm sure that's exciting for Oreo! And so early too!" she whispered back wit ha nod. "Definitely, You know i won't tell her" she responded.

"but Starlight explained why, I still don't understand why mom can't know" Beauty said. "do you?" she asked her aunt, hoping she knew the reason.
Midnight chuckled. Nutmeg was doing great. Nightstar stretched her nose towards the bee, but pulled back as she herd Nutmeg say it sings. "You're doing great" Midnight said. "I think she's getting it, keep going" Midnight said, smiling to her niece. Why hadn't she thought of this sooner. Nightstar could be talking before Stormy, Oreo's colt. But what she didn't know, was that Stormy was already talking.

Twilight sighed softly "Well, your momma is feeling sad since Nighstar probably won't talk for a long time, and it would make her even sadder to know that Stormy could even though he's only a day old" she tried to explain.
Nutmeg beamed and turned to a pretty flower that was blooming beside them, it seemed to be a daisy. "And this is a FLOWER. You can EAT them when you're bigger! They SMELL nice!" she said, demonstrating by taking a big whiff.

Midnight smiled. "I think she likes you teaching her things" Midnight admitted to her niece. "Just don't teach her about the bad flowers yet, I want either Rusty or Starlight to do it when she's a bit older" Midnight said. "Oh, try telling her what a butterfly is, one landed on her nose earlier" Midnight said.
Beauty nodded. "Oreo said that she may not walk or even talk for a few months, is that true?" Beauty asked

Nutmeg blushed and grinned happily. "Ok!" she said agreeably, looking around for another butterfly. One was flitting around some flowers a few feet away, and she singled it out. "See that over there? That's a BUTTERFLY" she said, "It's PRETTY. You can TOUCH it, but you have to be GENTLE with it." she instructed.
Twilight and nodded "Unfortunately, yes. Although in two months she can get a lot of strength, so it's really uncertain as to the actual time she'll be able to walk and talk" she said.

Nightstar looked up at the butterfly, her head tilting as she watched it flutter around. Midnight laughed at how focused she was on it. "She seems to be really getting it" Midnight said. "what else you go?" she asked.
Beauty felt her ears pin. "what can she do until then?" she asked
