Twilight nodded "yes, especially that. We weren't sure they were friendly or not" she said.
Smoke snorted and nudged his brother again, glancing at the Lead stallion and dipping his head then dashing off, nudging his brother's hip to throw him off balance and take the lead with a daring grin. He simply flicked an ear at his father's advice, and sped up as well, drawing even with his brother again.
Spirit glanced over and smiled slightly "That they do" he said, then tossed his head with a snort "I knew from the moment they were born they weren't going to grow up swiftly at all" he said with a slightly rueful look at the dust cloud in the distance.

Spirit glanced over with a slightly raised eye "Well i know that darling, we aren't like those other old fashioned herds who kick all the stallions out, i couldn't even imagine doing that and having multiple mates" he said with a toss of his mane and a snort at the idea. "Why would you say such a thing?" he asked curiously, glancing over with his soft warm gaze.
Twilight frowned "not much right now. We can't know more until the sickness is over and it's safe for our herds to meet again, as we must now that we have made contact" she said.

Rain chuckled. "If you had multiple mates, I would leave you in a second" She joked. "But as you don't we don't have anything to worry about" She said, nuzzling him lovingly as they made their way over to the river. Esperanza trotted up to her son and she nuzzled him. "How did it go getting that colt back to his mama?" She asked him as she nuzzled Rain as well. Rain smiled and nuzzled her in return as they neared the river.
Midnight chuckled. "True...I just...maybe it was a bad idea that I snapped at the lead stallion" she muttered under her breath a little bit

Spirit snorted and then nuzzled her "No one but you" he assured her lovingly, smiling. At his mother's hoofbeats he looked up, moving towards her and returning her nuzzle "It was a bit rocky at first, but she easily understood what had happened." he paused, glancing over to Rain, then back to his mother. "It appears the reason they have stopped so long, is a sickness has taken hold of some in their herd. I do not believe it is anything for us to be unduly concerned over, but we should be on the alert for any signs of sickness amongst our own. I told them that once a day had passed with all their herd in good health, we could meet again" he said.

Esperanza stiffed. "A sickness?" She asked. "What kind of sickness?" She looked at Rain and then her belly and then she looked back at her colt. Rain shook her head. "We don't know...the mare talking to us was the lead mares daughter." Rain said. "She was quite hesitant to tell us about it at first." Rain said, pressing against her mate. "It worried both me and Spirit" She admitted

Spirit briefly touched his nose to his mother's. "We already had their healer look over Rain, she's ok. We're ok if we don't go close to them until they are well" he said reassuringly.

Esperanza sighed a little bit but nodded. “Alright. Keep yourself safe.” She said to them both before she she trotted up ahead to the river. Rain looked down at the ground and pawed at the ground nervously a little bit. When they reached the river she bent her head to drink some water. When she felt refreshed, she lay herself down on the grass and watched as the foals played in the water with their family’s.

"You as well Mother" he said softly as she moved up. Spirit turned to his mate as they reached the river, keeping his head lifted as the entire herd moved to the river, constantly on the watch for danger. After a few moments of scenting the air he dropped his head and gulped up the refreshing liquid, then lifted his head again, shaking his mane slightly. A movement from his mate made him look over, and he smiled as she settled on the grass, her eyes trained on the young ones playing. After a few more moments, he stepped into the shallows the river, letting the cool water rush past his legs. Thankfully this river was not extremely deep, and not too swift. And NO where near a waterfall. He'd made sure of that.

Rain heard splashing and she smiled. Her mate loved the water, but as she watched the water flow over his legs, she saw a waterfall suddenly behind her mate…even though there was not a single waterfall in sight. The memory of her near death almost caused her to pass out. Rain felt her eyes shift away from the water and she blinked as she watched herself fall down the waterfall with Spirit directly behind her…he was yelling something that she couldn’t quite understand. Water had filled her ears and nose that day…and as Spirit lay beside her, a gun shot wound on her shoulder, was only when they realized their feelings for each other.
Midnight gazed at her brother as it looked as if he began waking. “Is he waking?” She asked.

Spirit pawed the water slightly, watching as a minnow flashed in the sunlight and darted away from his hooves. He glanced back to his mate, and smiled as he noticed she seemed to be settling down. The warm sunlight on his back, he moved deeper into the water, his strong legs thrusting through the currents.
Twilight looked over and frowned "I can't tell..." she said, staring closer. His breathing had seemed to quicken a bit.

Rain felt herself begin to feel better and she woke up. She stood to her feet and shook herself off a little bit before going to join her mate in the water. “I’m just glad there’s no waterfall around” she whispered to her mate as she nuzzled him lovingly.
Midnight looked at her sister and then sighed. She nudged Fireball a bit and the red mare woke up. “Hmm?” She asked groggily. “Nightlight needs you” Midnight said. Fireball’s eyes shot open and she stood to her hooves, trotting quite fast to her mates side. “Nightlight?” She asked. “Nightlight, I’m here.” Fireball whispered.

Spirit looked over as he heard his mates hooves, smiling as she approached him. Instinctively he shifted so he could block her from the current. "I agree" he said with a caring look as he looked into her captivating blue gaze.
Twilight gave a nod of silent agreement as her sister poked their sister in law awake.
Nightlight shifted. He could once again hear his mate. With an effort he forced open his eyes and suddenly lifted his head. "Fire...ball" he said breathily.

“Nightlight, hey” Fireball said. “How are you feeling?” She asked, nuzzling him lovingly. “I’m right here my love. I’m here.” Fireball said, as she pressed her muzzle into him.
Rain looked at her mate and smiled. “What color do you want our foal to be?” Rain asked.

Nightlight shifted so he could touch her coat with his nose, breathing in her scent deeply, then coughing slightly. "I'm... ok" he said weakly, trying to smile. "How.. how are you? Our... little...?" He couldn't get any further as he had to focus on breathing again.
Spirit smiled "Any color, any color at all. Although of course it would be best if it looked like you, you have the most beautiful coat" he said, nuzzling her again.
