Twilight sighed, nodding. She knew her sister was right. "I think i'll wait for her to wake up, i don't need her to be cranky when i'm talking to her" she said with a slight laugh. Watching Midnight talk to Specks, she could see they would need some time to figure everything out, and nodded in response to the question. "Of course" she said softly, glancing over at her niece.

Midnight led Specks to a private space where they could talk alone. "I asked Twilight to go with me because I'm so used to being with her, after being together for 9 months without any of the herd, I got used to it just being the two of us." she explained. Specks nodded slightly. "But you're back now." he said. "does that change anything?" he asked. Midnight nodded. "I have get used to being back again." she muttered. Specks nuzzled her. "I understand" he said. "I'll be with you the entire time" he promised

Twilight watched Midnight lead Specks away, then turned her attention back to the fillies playing nearby. She watched them, a faint smile slipping over her muzzle as they capered around in the snow. A noise from beside her caught her attention, and she turned to see Songbird slowly getting to her feet, stretching. "Morning Mom" she said, coming over and bumping her with her nose. "Good morning songbird" Twilight replied, nuzzling her back. She paused, glancing off in Midnights direction. She had promised.... ok. With a slight sigh, and a frown, she began speaking slowly. "Songbird... How... Why..." she sighed again, trying to figure out how to start the talk. Songbird looked at her piercingly for a few moments, then let out a deep sigh as well. "I know what you're trying to say Mom. And I know you don't believe it, but I love Buttermilk. He's not like his dad, he actually loves me back." Twilight snorted lightly to herself, and Songbirds eyes darkened as she suddenly burst out "YOU weren't even here, so you can't say anything. What do you know about Buttermilk? What do you know about ME?" She glared at her then swung around and galloped off into the herd... most likely going to find Buttermilk, leaving Twilight standing staring in shock and pain after her. Of all the things her daughter could have said.. that was the worst. She knew she'd missed out on most of her fillie's growing up.. but it hadn't been her choice!

"now might not be the right time to mention this" Specks said. "but..uhm...Stardust has a crush..." Midnight spun around and looked at her mate. "what do you mean Stardust has a crush?" she demanded. "on who??" Specks flattened his ears. "a rouge horse..." Midnight pinned her own ears. "how could you let that happen?" she asked, eyes flaring. "You wern't here, and while you were gone, I was in charge of our fillies, I let her do what she wanted and when she wanted." Midnight glared at him. "what about how I would feel if you just sprung this on me all of a sudden?" she asked, her voice leveling. "How could you seriously let her be in love with a stallion who doesn't know our herd, who doesn't know us!" Midnight sighed. "Oh he knows us." he said. Midnight looked at him. "but not me." Specks looked at the ground and then shook his head. Midnight flicked her tail in annoyance and she turned, galloping away from her mate. "MIDNIGHT!!" Specks called after her. "WAIT!!"

Twilight turned, her own shock disappearing as she watched Midnight angrily gallop away from her mate, who called after her forlornly, looking guilty. Leaping forward she charged after Midnight, catching up to her quickly and matching her pace. "Midnight, what happened?" She asked, slightly breathlessly.

Midnights eyes were burning with anger, sadness, and betrayal. She slowed when she heard her sister beside her. "Specks just told me that Stardust has a crush on a loner horse who joined the herd." Midnight muttered. "He said that while I was gone, he was in charge and he said that he let Stardust do whatever she wanted. The loner horse knows everyone in the herd, everyone but me." a tear rolled down her face. "and I know that its not our fault we got caught by humans. We were just saving our fillies." she said with a sigh. "but I feel like everything changed here. Stardust and Songbird are in love, my mate thinks it was his choice to allow Stardust do what she wanted when I wasn't here." Midnight was so angry. "ugh! Sometimes I wish we didn't leave the barn. At least we didn't have problems there"

Twilight snorted in surprise, eyes flashing in surprise and anger as well. "Is he CRAZY?" She whinnied, ears flattening. First Songbird, and now Stardust. What else had changed? "Everyone but you and ME" she added onto Midnight's comment, ears still flat. "I understand how you feel, Songbird basically said the same thing about Rusty letting her do whatever because i wasn't there. And it was easier at the barn" she admitted with a sigh.

"I don't want to go back..." Midnight started. "but we never had to worry about the cold or our fillies, who I guess aren't really fillies anymore, doing anything we wouldn't like." Midnight sighed. "Why did we ever get caught in the first place? Everything would be so much easier if we never got caught" Midnight looked the herd, thought for a second and then looked back at her sister. "what if...the reason we got caught was because we were never meant to live our entire lives as herd horses?" she asked

Twilight frowned and shook her head vehemently "NO, i don't think so. We've always been herd horses. We just have to get used to it again. There will be things that are different of course, Goodness, we were gone for an entire year! That's a long time in a fillies life! Could we really expect them to NOT look for love? And maybe our mates didn't handle it the right way, but they're stallions, so of course they didn't" she said with a slight laugh.

"Yea but what if our mates are secretly in love with a different mare and they just arent telling us?" Midnight asked. "I want to go back to barn." She muttered. "I felt safe there, and I never had to worry about anything." she sighed and flopped herself down on the snow. She looked toward her mate who was surprisingly playing in the snow beside Beauty. "ok, maybe they don't have a different mare, but that doesn't change the fact that I felt safer at the barn and want to go back." Midnight glanced at her sister and then down at the snow. I'll leave tonight. She thought. I can find my way back to the barn even if it takes another 3 months to get back. she thought again

Twilight sighed "NO they don't Midnight, they're loyal." she said, glancing over at Midnight, laying down beside her. "I know it's hard, but I'm just glad i'm back now. I see that Rusty tried his best to be a good dad, even though he was alone. And It is true that i haven't really talked to buttermilk yet...." she said with a sigh.

Midnight glanced at her sister. "So you're saying you'd forgive buttermilk for being in love with your daughter?" she asked slightly surprised. She leaned into her sister for warmth and glanced at the sky as a soft snow began to fall. Midnight sighed and stood up. "we should get back over there now" she said with a slight sigh. She started walking towards her family and then muttered out loud. "im leaving the herd tonight" she wanted so badly to go back to the barn and she knew if Twilight knew what she was planning she would try to stop her. She settled herself down on the snow beside her mate and watched as the sun slowly went down. Maybe I won't leave. She thought. I did miss my family and I just need to get used to it again. She reminded herself

Twilight sighed, shaking her head "I don't know Mid... I just... I don't know. But I'm ready to give him a chance" she said, nuzzling her sister. Together they lay for a few minutes, then Midnight got up. With a nod, Twilight got to her feet and began walking over to their herds. Midnight muttered something beside her, and she turned her ears towards her curiously. "What was that sis?" she asked gently.

Midnight gasped as she realized she had spoken allowed. "I uh...I said...uhm....I....I'm leaving the herd tonight." she glanced at her sister. "but then I realized I just need to get used to the herd again, I'm not going to leave." she promised. "I promise you." She nuzzled her sister and when they got back to the herd she nuzzled Specks. "im ok" she nickered softly, giving him a big hug around the neck.
(i just thought of something...what if Oreo is pregnant? I know thats not the best idea ever but we need more drama. I mean i guess i could have midnight leave the herd and twilight has to go after her?? idk)

Twilight's eyes widened and she was about to attempt to persuade her sister to stay, when she spoke again. "Ok, good, because I think we both definitely need to stick around here" she said, nuzzling her. When they got back, she trotted over to Rusty, nuzzling up to him. "Hey, so... I know I got upset yesterday, but I'm ready to hear more about Buttermilk" she said softly.
(Ooh maybe!! Who would the dad be?)
