Sugar gulped and looked at the blood bay that was standing before them. She stepped forward, she may be the youngest, but she had a LOT of determination. "Your land?" Sugar spat. "we were just passing through, how were we supposed to know it was YOUR land?" she asked, as she stomped her hoof on the ground in anger.

Galmúr felt himself shrink back slightly at the large stallions look at him and strict tone, as if he were insignificant and not even worth speaking to. For a moment he was lost for words, until Sugar stepped forward. He blanched in fear at her outright rudeness, and quickly stepped towards her, shoving her back to Artemis before taking a stance in front of the stallion. "Pardon my friend, Sir, although her tone was uncalled for, her words were true. We had no knowledge of it being your land, and I apologize for our incompetence. If you allow us to pass, we will be on our way swiftly. We are heading south, and shall no doubt soon be gone from your land." he said, dipping his head slightly in deference to the stallion's authority. After all, he was not foolish enough to challenge such a large lead stallion, who had no doubt seen many battles with other stallions at least twice his own size.

The stallions stiffened at the filly's impudence and bared his teeth, but expression softened slightly at the buckskin's apology, he was surprised that such a young horse would have such courteous speech, but allow the three to stay he could not, he had a position to uphold after all, ''then you should be on your way,'' he said shortly, but not unkindly.

Sugar flattened her ears when the stallion bared his teeth at her. When the three friends had begun moving again, she looked down at the grass. "Sorry Galmur" She mumbled as she looked back up at her oldest friend. "I probably shouldn't have done that"

Galmúr gave a relieved and thankful dip of his head "My thanks Sir, we shall move onwards immediately" he said quickly ushering the two fillies past the horses, staying in an easy trot so as not to seem desperate to get away from them, although his heart was pounding. When they were further away, Sugar spoke, and he glanced over at her "Well no, you shouldn't have, he could have easily killed you" He said with a slight frown, then added more gently "Just try and let me handle those situations, it could be really dangerous if you show yourself like that again" he said with a light smile and nuzzling her "I just don't want either of you getting hurt" he added, looking at them both with worriedly caring eyes.

Artemis quietly watched the exchange between her friends and the stallion, and flattened her ears at the blood bay's aggressive manner towards Sugar, but she also noticed that behind all his angry speech and actions, he was just protecting what was his and had every right to do so, even if the way he went about it was rather harsh. At Sugar's words Artemis looked at her younger friend, ''Hey it's alright Sugar, you were brave, but Galmúr's right it was dangerous. He could have easily chased Galmúr away and forced us to join his herd.'' Artemis looked back at the rapidly disappearing horses behind them, will there ever be a stallion who would not get angry and chase them away.

Sugar nodded and kept close to her friends for the rest of the morning. “I promise, next time I won’t do that” she said, honestly hoping there wouldn’t be another next time…but she had a feeling there would be multiple cases where they came across herds and rude stallions like the blood bay stallion she had snapped at

Galmúr nodded at Artemis "Yes... he could have" he agreed, his ears flattening slightly. How he wished he was already older and stronger and able to protect his young friends. But he wasn't, and h knew it was very true that if a stallion ever decided it wanted Sugar and Artemis, he would be almost powerless to stop him. At the dappled gray filly's apology, he smiled "I'm glad" he said, speeding up his pace slightly now that they were quite a ways from the small herd. He wanted to be out of their territory as soon as possible. Although, if they did get out of this stallions territory, then whose territory would they stumble into next?

Once Artemis deemed the herd far enough away she asked her companions, ''we have been walking for a while, should we stop and graze for a bit?''

“Please” Suagr said as she’d stomach grumbled. “Im STARVING!” She said as she kept a good pace with her friends.

Galmúr glanced behind them at Artemis's suggestion, then nodded with a smile as Sugar exclaimed hungrily "Ok, we can stop for a bit" he agreed. "I am pretty hungry myself, and it should get our energy levels back up" he continued, slowing his pace and finally stopping before dipping his head to the ground and tearing the green shoots of grass.

Artemis ate in silence for a while before asking, ''how long do you guys think we will be alone?''

Sugar bent her head to graze hungrily at the graze. The sweet taste flowing over her mouth. She smiled as she ate and picked up her head when she heard Artemis talk. “I’m not sure” she admitted. “I want to feel the safety of living in a herd again, but…I don’t know if I’m ready to yet” she said as she bent her head to graze some more

Galmúr ate for a few minutes, although he wasn't very hungry since he had already grazed that morning, then lifted his head to keep an eye on their surroundings as the two fillies ate. At the dark friesian's question, he looked over thoughtfully. "I'm not sure. As Sugar said, a herd is safer to live in, and we would no longer have to search for water and shelter." he sighed "But as you have just seen, most herds are not too friendly to newcomers, and I'm not sure if I could handle another herd at this moment" he admitted.

Artemis ate for a few minuets more before walking to the river's edge a taking a long drink. Suddenly she plunged in sending water flying in all directions. It felt good to cool off after such a long trek, playfully she splashed more water in Galmúr and Sugar's direction.
