Kastron nodded and made for the pole. “Wait! How do we get the egg out?” He patted the cloth container holding the precious egg affectionately. “One of us has to hand it to the other, or one of us had to carry it on his head or something. I strongly recommend option one.”

Kastron grabbed the bundle firmly and made for the pole, handing him the egg. “Ok, I’ll climb up and then you hand it to me. Or do you want to do it the other way around?”

Eldor rolled his eyes, “whatever just get on with it,” he grabbed the sack and gestured for Kastron to start climbing, quite suddenly it began snowing.

Kastron squinted his eyes and mumbled something against the snow, then started scrambling up the pole. It was freezing cold and very slick, the snow melting against the metal and then freezing into a slippery and cutting see through sheet. Once he had reached the top Kastron peered onto the ground, which was now on eye level with him. There was nothing to see for the snow fell in tight flurries and huge flakes, burying everything. Kastron crossed his knees around the pole and hung upside down. “Hand me the thing.”, he said, wheezing.

Eldor was about to toss up the egg when he suddenly smacked his forehead, “I COMPLETELY FORGOT THAT I WAS INVITED TO TEA BY THE CHINES EMPEROR,” he exclaimed quite loudly and with a great deal of despair in his voice.

Believe it or not, Eldors shout was loud enough to crack ice, and it was also enough to loosen Kastrons grip on some of the ice in the pole, which shattered. Down to the ground Kastron went, somehow managing to land on his feet somehow. “Who cares that you’re late for his tea?”, he asked dubiously. “ What do you know, I was supposed to get a beating from Shamus today! The Chines emperor can wait. May his tea grow as cold at this ice block!” He kicked the ice floor they were standing on, which gave an ominous sound before cracking slightly.

''How dare you curse the Emperor, now he is going to send his legion of dragons upon you,'' Eldor's eyes widened at the sound of ice cracking, he handed the Edd to Kastron and began to franticly climb the pole which was now free of ice, for now.

Kastron grabbed hold of the egg and looked up at Eldor with annoyance. “Oh come on!” He began attempting to shimmy up the pole using one hand , the other arm firmly holding on to the precious bundle. As expected, he did not get very far, and directed another annoyed gaze at Eldor, when his eye caught the ominous and looking silhouette of the dragon against the flurrying whiteness that thickened the air. “You might want to watch out.”, he warned, taking care not to raise his voice.

Eldor looked up, his eyes widened and his face turned even paler (if that is possible), ''quick hand me the egg,'' he yelled, his voice was quite a few pitches higher than normal. The dragon leered over them, it opened its huge maw, which was about as short as Kastron, a blue light began to emanate from the back of its throat.

Kastron suddenly became quite protective of the little teardrop shaped thing, and pulled it back energetically.” Why? what are you going to do with it?”, he asked suspiciously.

“Save it from its mother of course,” Eldor answered in an exasperated tone, “come on Kass I’m not going to kill it. The blue light emanating from the dragon’s mouth was getting brighter by the second and Eldor knew that all too soon whatever form of fire the dragon possessed would come spilling down upon them.

Kastron half leaped up the pole partially and held up the purple bundle. “Here take it.”, he said between his teeth. “It really is not fun to hold onto this freezing pole with only your legs.”

Eldor reached down and grabbed the bundle sliding down a few inches from the weight, suddenly he began whirling it around like a sling, once he gained enough momentum he released and watched as the silken sack flew out of the hole and down out of sight. The dragon turned its head a followed after. Eldor quickly climbed up the rest of the way then let down his hand to assist Kastron up.

Kastron grabbed ahold of Eldors hand and swung himself up, slamming his body against the ice opening and beginning to slide back down into the hole. His fingers clawed about, looking for something to hang in to. They came acrosss a small ice covered rock, and Kastron grabbed hold of it firmly, but refrained from moving, for the dragon was very near.
