Fang smiled "Same thing as before, watching, listening, scenting, feeling" he said

Brutus sprang at the same moment as his mate, running along side her before dropping back slightly to let his mate leap at the longleg, he heading for the front, eyeing it's neck. Keeping his focus, he suddenly sprang, his jaws locking on the longlegs neck, and with a powerful twist of his head, he threw it to the ground.

Duke looked down and simmered his excitement to handleable level. "I'm just excited to do something different" he said, nuzzling her.

Thunder licked her nose "I doubt it, they don't pick up on those things very well yet" he said.

Aurora nodded. “Got it!” She said.

Snowflake stood panting once the long leg was down. “NICE CATCH!” She exclaimed, licking Brutus on the muzzle. “We make a great team honey” Snowflake said blushing.

Coco smiled. “I’m glad you’re here.” She admitted.

Bella looked at him. “Yea, that’s true” she said.

Fang smiled down at her, then focused on the trail.

Brutus released his hold when he was sure it was over, then turned to nuzzle her "We definitely do" he agreed with a slow smile.

Duke smiled "Well i'm glad to be here!" he said energetically.

Thunder licked her nose "yes it is. Now i'm parched" he said with a laugh, getting to his paws and heading over to the waterfall.

Aurora was still quite unsure of how things would work with her telling the alpha about the giant paw print in the dirt...would he listen to her? Would he trust her? Would he even believe her? She wondered. Her thoughts were spinning and she didn't realize when she started wandering a bit.

Snowflake blushed again. "One more?" she asked.

Coco smiled. "How did you convince the other hunters to let you leave anyways?" Coco asked.

Bella nodded. "alright" she said

Fang glanced over and let out a soft bark. "Aurora" he said, calling her back to attention as she began straying from his side.

Brutus nodded "Yep! They probably didn't go far" he said, glancing in the direction the longlegs had leapt.

Duke tilted his head "They told me I could go, I didn't mention anything" he said with a shrug.

Aurora jumped and realized she had strayed before she ran back towards her father. "sorry Dada" she said. "I...I just got thinking is all" She said as she gazed around once more.

"Then we should put this one in the storage hole and then look for the other one!" Snowflake decided.

Coco furrowed her brow. "hmm...strange." she said

Fang raised an eye slightly "You'll have to put too much thinking on hold for later" he said firmly.

Brutus nodded "Good thinking" he said, digging his teeth into the deers shoulder.

Duke tilted his head "I suppose so" he said with a bit of confusion in his eyes. Why was it strange? eh wasn't really sure.

Aurora flattened her ears nervously. "S....Sorry" She stuttered slightly.

Snowflake smiled. "Thanks!" She said, as she helped her mate drag the long leg to the storage hole.

"Come on, we need to focus on the task at hand" Coco said

Fang nuzzled her gently "It's ok sweetie, I know you're trying" he said. It was only her first patrol anyway, he hadn't expected her to keep good focus really.

Brutus pushed the longleg into the hole, stepping back and shaking himself as he smiled at his mate. "let's get the next" he said.

Duke gave a nod "Right" he said, glancing around again. He didn't see anything besides trees and sunlight, quite a peaceful walk to him.

Aurora nodded as she followed her father. She sniffed the air and a scent that seemed oddly familiar wafted over her muzzle. Her heck fur stood up on end and she let out a growl. It smelled like Ayla...but that was impossible. She lived much farther away. Aurora shook her head and then continued to look around. "What do we do if we find an intruder?" She asked her father.

Snowflake nodded and she sniffed the air. "this way" she said.

While it may have looked like a peaceful trail to Duke, Coco's senses were alert. The day before, she and Rebel had found a paw print in the dirt from another dog. It had been stale but whos the say the dog didn't return.

Fang looked over "Well, first of all, you hide. I confront it, see if it's a danger. If it is, you need to run for the pack, howling, getting help. If i were on my own, i would howl and run." he explained, then added "Unless it was one i could take easily"

Brutus let his mate take the lead as he followed.

[Abbster]

Aurora was still a bit edgy from the scent she had smelled earlier. "Dada, can we go home now?" She asked, suddenly not wanting to be out here anymore. "Please?" She begged her legs beginning to tremble a little bit as she thought she could smell Ayla once more

Fang looked over, brow frowning. "But honey, we're training" he said gently as he hugged her to him. "It's ok darling, of course, if you can't handle it we can go back right away" he said, caving.

[Abbster]

"I...I know" She stuttered. "I....I just keep thinking I can scent Ayla..." She said, as her legs were still trembling. "Sh...she's really scary...I....I just wanna be safe at home." She said. "A...and I'm hungry" She admitted.

Snowflake gazed around for a brief moment before she caught the scent of long legs. She smiled and began to creep forward. Her eyes locked on one and she leapt into the air, landing on its back and then managing to climb her way up towards it neck. She would take this one down on her own.

Fang's eyes widened and he scented the air, but he couldn't smell anything. "I think it's just in your head, but yes, of course we can go back" he said, shielding her with his body as they turned back.

Brutus waited for his mate to jump, then leapt forwards, ready to take the deer down together again. He knew he could easily take it himself, but she seemed to want to always go first, so he was ok with that.
