Aurora nodded and pressed close to her father as they walked back to the camp. When they reached it, Aurora bolted for the safety of the den. Clover looked up from nursing her pups as Aurora raced in. "Aurora!" She said. "What is it?" She asked. Aurora couldn't answer...she was to scared to answer.

"NO!" Snowflake said. "Let me!" She begged. "Please Brutus, let me take this one down!" She said as she clawed towards its neck

Fang escorted her back carefully, making sure she felt safe, then trotted after her as she ran, sighing slightly. Not the best start. He was even wondering if she'd do well as a guard if she kept her fears so close to the surface. But she was still young. He ducked his head into the den just as he heard his mates question. "She thought she smelled Alya, and it scared her" he responded softly.

Brutus skidded to a halt, frowning, then nodded slightly. Not the way he would have gone about it, going for the throat was just that more speedy and efficient, but he let her do her thing.

Clover looked at Fang. "What?" She asked. "But..." She stopped as Aurora pressed into her mother. "Hey" Clover whispered. "Its ok honey, mama's right here" She promised, as she began to groom her head gently. "Its all ok" She said.

Snowflake jumped off the long leg and then darted towards its neck. She leapt and clamped down on it until it stumbled and fell to the ground. Snowflake stood panting. "S...See?" She asked. "T...Told you I could do it"

Fang lay down and nuzzled his adopted daughter "It's ok darling, we'd never let her come near you again" he said softly.

Brutus smiled as he padded up "I knew you could" he reassured her, nuzzling her then grabbing a hold. They'd drag this one straight into camp.

Aurora nodded. "Im hungry" She said. "Go get some prey!" Clover said. Aurora smiled. "Ok!" She said, standing up and trotting out of the den. "Do you really think she could smell Ayla?" Clover asked

"Did....you doubt me?" Snowflake asked as she was still panting from the work she had just put in.

Bella gazed around. Thunder still hadn't returned from the water fall, that was a little bit strange.

Fang smiled as his daughter padded out, then turned to his mate, brow furrowed. "I don't see how that could be possible, and I didn't smell anything" he said, but he still looked worried.

Brutus set down the deer and looked at her "of course not!!" he said, truth in his voice.

Thunder refreshed himself, then lifted his head and looked about. A moment later, Aurora came racing through, followed by Fang. What had happened? With a worried frown he padded up to their den, stepping to the side as Aurora dashed out. "Fang?" he rumbled into the entrance.

Clover nodded. "Ok, maybe Liberty can give her some calming herbs or something" She said as Thunder's voice was heard. Clover nodded. "go" she said to him.

Snowflake looked at him. "really?" she asked him.

Fang nodded, then nuzzled his mate and padded out, dipping his head to the Alpha. He wouldn't make Aurora try and talk about the trip. Thunder gave a nod as he stepped back. "What happened?" the Alpha asked. Fang sighed "Aurora got spooked thinking she smelled someone familiar" he explained quietly. Thunder looked at him for a moment, then gave a nod, accepting it. "Anything else to report?" he queried. Fang nodded "A large paw print, no later than last evening, on the guard path. Bigger than mine" he said. Thunder frowned. "This is concerning" he said gravely.


Brutus nuzzled her "Of course" he said.

Snowflake smiled. "Thanks for believing in me" She said, licking his nose. "lets get this back to camp"

Bella looked around and then she saw her mate talking to Fang. Her hackles rose. Why hadn't he gone to her first? She wondered. Bella shook her head and then stood to her paws and trotted over. "Is everything alright?" She asked, looking at her mate as she saw the nervousness in his eyes. "Thunder, whats wrong?" Bella asked, as she looked at Fang and saw the same nervousness reflected in his eyes. "Fang? What's going on?" Bella demanded

Brutus smiled "Always" he said, then dug his jaws into the carcass again.

Thunder looked over as Fang did, both looking at the female for a moment. Fang stayed silent, letting his Alpha decide whether to tell or not. "A pawprint on our borders, a fresh one. It might not be anything... it could possibly even be an ally" he said, remembering the feeling of whatever had led him there "But it's still concerning" he said with a frown.

Bella's hackles raised and she let out a growl. "You must send a patrol at once!" She said to her mate. "Thunder you have to, this is our new home, there are small pups, if its an intruder we need to find out who it is" She said

Thunder nuzzled her calmingly. "I know that darling, but i have to strategize. We have limited dogs available, and most are out scouting or hunting" he pointed out.

"Then I'll do it!" Bella said. "I'm not letting some strange unknown animal live near our camp...near our pups!" Bella said. "That's not going to happen" She decided. "Fang, will you show me where the paw print is?" Bella asked

Thunder growled low in his throat "You are not going" he said firmly turning to Fang, who looked very uncomfortable. "Go to Lulu's den and get her, us three are going. Bella, you stay with Drake, he'll protect you all, and I need you here to take up command if the threat is true and comes here" he said, turning to her with firm alpha in his eyes.

"Excuse me?" Bella asked with a scoff. "Who are you to tell me what to do?" She snapped, eyes flaring with anger and hurt. "Wow, Thunder.....wow" Bella muttered a little bit before she turned and walked away.
